  1. Good morning guys and well done Dave Hope you're getting some rest. I've settled down a bit and have decided on one lady to spend time with and she is as jbart would say "top notch". We both are insatiable with each other and probably getting less sleep than akdave And speaking of coupling and cables one of the R2R was not putting out sound on one speaker though the VU meters were moving. Cleaned the heads twice and no improvement. Checked the cables and one of those rascals was loose. Problem solved. Well gotta get cleaned up and ready for Sugarbritches who is coming by later..... Cheers Gents

  12. Gotta get in a plug for our Broncos and Peyton Manning. Nice win over the Jets, although not as impressive as the score might indicate. And ... just 2 more TD passes until Peyton breaks Favre's record. THAT is impressive! Cheers.

  13. Not a lecture but, Columbus was brave and maybe did not know of Greenlanders coming to the continent, as it were. Happy there is a thing called coffee and cables. Had an apple orchard and must say it is smooth and fruity and johnny apple is tart and a bit crisp, which can be good. The cider I had tried 5 years ago in S Carolina was the woodchuck. Glad I tried hard cider again. Guess the next thing is homemade. Coffee in order, as well as a short coax. The Pinta The Nina And The Santa Marie(a)

  14. I would really like to see a home version of the KPT-684, or even half that size, one that is more focused on low frequency response and not so much on sheer loudness, closer to the JTR Captivator S1 and S2. The hardcore home theaters are using this type of stuff and running powerful pro amps. It would be cool to see Klipsch embrace this in the consumer world. You're already making the KPT-684 so it seems like it wouldn't be that much of a stretch, it is obviously possible. Currently I myself am running an iNuke 6000 to two 18's, would have been nice to have a Klipsch alterative to such a thing. That amp actually works great for this, having a Klipsch cabinet even if it had no internal amp would be awesome. http://www.klipsch.com/kpt-684/details http://jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/captivator-s2/# http://jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/captivator-s1/

  16. 30 years ago there were some saying that fast food chains and junk food were going to wreak havoc on everyone. Now here we are. If you do not see it, go travel to a foregin country and then come back here. Even easier, look at the original Augustus Gloop (the fat kid from Willy Wonka) vs the new one. The original one looks like a "normal" kid and they had to update him for our new normal. https://www.google.com/search?q=Augustus+Gloop&client=firefox-a&hs=Kik&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=rcs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=lAM8VKf1I6eBiwLGjoCYAg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ Point is that it will take a while for the crap in GMOs to show their results, and we should have a choice to at least know if it is in our food.

  17. In order to use the term "organic" in our country USDA organic standards must be met: http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome?contentidonly=true&contentid=organic-agriculture.html The USDA is good, but not that good. Given the size of the food supply, I seriously question their ability to adequately police the trade in order to insure, say, 95% compliance. This policing problem is not unique to us. China deals with counterfeiters all the time. Heck, in fact we do, too. I can go over to Harwin (a road in Houston) and find all the counterfeits of famous labels I want... right there on the shelf, on open public display. I do not believe that all is fine just because the government has a program.

  19. We have been purchasing farm raised non genetically modified foods and locally raised non juiced up meat for about two years. This is nearly impossible to do 100% of the time but we are at about 50%. The price is a little higher but the quality has been high and the meat has been incredible. I would say better. I went this route because my gf wanted to but also after trying locally raised meats. I do not trust the grocery stores "organic". It is just an excuse to jack the price. We go to the local markets and local grown stores.

  20. And then again is the stuff a "little bit organic" or a "lotta bit organic" and where is the line drawn? JJK

  21. When grocery stores put a bunch of bananas out in the produce section with a poster board behind them which says, "Organic," how do we know they are really organic? How does the grocer even know? Is this whole "organic" thing on the honor system?

Should be an easy Monday, wife has to work this Columbus day, because the state traded it for "Ceaser Chavez Day"........only in Calif. 27. Back to the topic, farmers that I have spoke to do not like GMOs because the seed is expensive and altered to be sterile (the genertic altering that is being touted to save all of the food shortage problems is actually being used to make the crops not produce usable seeds - gee I wonder why). The farmers have stated that you need to keep applying the chemicals that kill everything but the crop, in increasing amounts to maintain its effectivenesss. Think about this, the chemicals that kill everything are being applied in increasing amounts to maintain their effetiveness, not a good scenario for something that you are going to eat.

  28. The Amish I have met in my area are more in tuned and able to run a business than you might think. Just had a young business owner put a roof on my house and do lots of trim work and add James Hardie siding. I would agree I don't see an Amish based company doing consulting or programming, but the very few I have met are very family oriented and very hard workers. I would agree that not being able to take your education beyond the typical 8th or 12th grade is very limiting and not something I would go for. Different strokes for different folks

  29. I'm not selling. However, these were the speakers that were listed a while back. The original seller wanted 800 for both the center and the 2 RF-7 towers. This buyer bought them...and is now flipping. Looks like he found a sucker for the RF-7s. Also of note, anything I sell, I usually post here as well, and usually for less than what I ask on Craigslist. Everything I list on Craigslist has a little more built in that I know will be negotiated away.

Glen is a great guitar player, he was on an episode of "Later…with Jools Holland" a couple of years ago, he sounded great. God bless you.

  33. We must be cut from the same cloth. I prefer the surrounds high and use a PLIIz system. I even point my mains slightly off axis. I don't think it is necessary or sound the best with all the speakers shooting at your ears unless you are into target practice, lol. With these large Klipsch systems for most of us, hearing the speakers is the least of our concerns.

  36. Tough post to follow. Spent my birthday yesterday looking for a motorcycle for work, and generally relaxing. She made meatloaf, real mashed potatoes, and had a peanut butter cake made before day was out. Guess I will be cleaning the kitchen some as today is not my birthday.. King for a day though. Not bad! She said she looked for the Major's coffee but did not see. OOh well, Good Day. Enjoying my time not tangled up in blues or cables. Now to think about retirement and what the process is...

  38. Had the same thing happen last week, battery in the jeep Cherokee was turning over the engine slower than normal. After a few days and cleaning the connections no change. While this was going on when you would start it, it would not idle cold, it would kill, you would have to give it a little gas to keep it going. New battery and it starts fine and idles perfect when cold. Probably an older model then yours but sounds similar, it's a 01 model. Dropped my BMW off at the dealer yesterday and picked up a loaner. Check engine light came on. They know me very well by now as I've told them as long as the warranty is in effect--i'm bringing it in for EVERYTHING. They've already put a new transmission in and a new computer (that displays everything about the car). Warranty expires next July and that makes me uncomfortable since repairs are ridiculous (for example, that Transmission would have been over $7,000). Guess i'll have to get a new one next summer just to have to security of being covered under a warranty.
