  2. Sunday morning. Opened up my Christmas bag of Kona. Well worth the wait. Went to work out in the garage but the glue isn't dry from yesterday's progress. It's 50 inside the garage and everything is drying in slow motion. No work on the sub today. I may go see my grand son and watch a little football instead. Seems to be a good compromise.

  3. My 10 year old son Steven has started fundraising for the American Heart Association. As I was setting up his page just now, I couldn't help but think of Boxx, and included his name on Steven's page for remembrance. Alex, I hope you don't mind. I feel it's the least I can do.

  5. Morning Gang 60 + is what they are saying today, that's fine workable weather. I see everyone chatting about their service, spotify, tidal, and whatnot. Tried a couple in the last few years, i like free youtube, CD's. When im to old (80s+) and cannot get to the mancave, then i will really care about quality cuts. Meanwile, iv labored to build a Pro system, according to my neighbors, im there. Running 22 Wpc last night with a bump to 40 (Metallica/VH Eruption) i noticed in my CCTV cam on the west fence, someone looking between the cracks....Hummm Cranked Patsy/haggerd/nelson for the first couple hours, no notes on my door this morning. First cup down, need/want three more

  6. 2 days in a row that I have been in bed by 1030 and awake by 700 and on a weekend to boot. Somethings not right here. Nothing planned, maybe some listening down stairs or shopping for a different active crossover. I need something that does 2 way stereo with a sub.

  9. Went to the Lodge outlet store in Tennessee last time we were up there. The selection was great, anything you could want in cast iron, we picked out one that was the size and shape we wanted, strange thing was I found it on a rack which was supposedly seconds, it was perfect and smooth couldn't figure out why it was on that rack ? Overall they all looked fine and were smooth, I don't know if that is normal or the outlet stores get the better quality ? I have a Martin and this Lodge is just as smooth, luck maby ? I liked this model (P12S) because it's 12" and has rounded sides which is different form most cast iron.

  11. Yes I miss Marshall also. Really enjoyed the visits, transactions, and vast info obtained from my time with him. My wife really enjoyed the horse riding with Marshall's wife and my son hanging with his son. His presence, unlimited knowledge, and generosity(and satire) are truly missed in this great community. If you remember, Marshall took a hiatus(focus on family) from the forum a few summers ago and popped his head in September of that year. He posted for a while and then did it again. He reappeared again briefly and then left for what has now been over a year. Last active September 12, 2013. Marshall, If you are within shouting distance, make yourself known even if for a brief moment. Maybe we can get a caravan of members and drive down(stealth like) and storm the "Wall of Voodoo". Bill

  12. Always liked Snow's sequins. More than Porter's...Sr. for sure. Liked ballad of hank by Jr. Now Matt Dillon was captured in the opening in color sequence, where he let the other dude draw first or, at least get the steel clear of the holster and actually fire first as witnessed by the 2 gun report. Now Matt was mostly a good sort, and somewhat confident. Since the clip only shows the Marshal firing, guess the dude could have shot from his holster. Or... even got caught... Weekend trip took the spark out of me. Now for the hay. Morning

  17. You've had a lot of thoughts. My 2 cents would be, if you have the corners, you can (yes, blindly) go with Khorns. If you want to go balls to the wall, you can go Jubilee's. Of all the Jubilee owners, I'm guessing that about half bought them without ever hearing them first. Most knew the sound of the Khorn and also knew that PWK had a hand in the design.....and that was enough. That said, I happened to be one who heard them prior. Reason I'm mentioning Khorns is, if you have corners, they are the most room efficient speaker that you can buy. I'd contend that if you took a Heresy, RF, Pioneer HPM 100 or a Radio Shack Mach One, those would ALL take up more usable floor space than the mighty Khorn and, get smoked (in sound) in the process. I certainly understand wanting to hear something first. Others have offered and I'll do same. If you're ever in the Knoxville area, you are more than welcome to come by my place & hear the Jubilee's (I also have LaScalas) I can almost guarantee you that when you leave, you'll be daydreaming about how many dollars you can come up with...

  20. I always wanted a utilikilt. http://www.utilikilts.com/ If those are the ones they sell at Cabelas, then that is what I have. I have been using it for 4 or 5 years with no problems. Well Smoking some ribs, I have been practing every weekend. Well last weekend and today, for a competition in 2 weeks. I have never been big into competition smoking. But a budy of mine convinced me to do so this time. I will say it has forced me to finally write down what I do and come up a with plan to be consistent with my cooking. Though I have enjoyed this every weekend, I don't know if I will do one again. Now where is that bbq thread we had, all so time for a beer.

  21. Marantz 2500 should be coming home in a few days. Tom Williams Has done the restoration on it. Waited about 3 years for my turn to come up. Have one space in line to send him another Marantz. Not sure whether to send the 2325. Or send the 4270 that we use for 4 channel TV. I can only send one. Also only have one case to send one stereo out at a time. Such decisions we have to make in life.

  24. Yes, horns unload but the Klipsch products have a sealed back volume that controls the cone motion below the horn's cut-off, limiting cone motion. Many years ago Paul told me that a high-pass filter for the Klipschorn at 28 Hz would be correct. He didn't mention slope but my feeling is that 18 dB/octave would be right. My Cornwalls crossover to a subwoofer at 60 Hz and so don't see anything close to infrasonic.

  26. Actually Randy, I could probably knock out another pair of cornwall I grilles in a bit if you want. I have my original grille templates still in the garage. Let me know if you're interested. Cost would be super cheap ( shipping only).

  27. Welcome to the forums! I just looked at the schematic and pics of the rf62Ii crossover, and there isn't a fuse on them. It is also unlikely that the crossover is damaged. What is likely is that the tweeter diaphragms are toast. The diaphragms can be repaced. Bruce

  32. Stupid Beats music has virtually no Pink Floyd. WTF? Spotify does I've been thinking of making a change. Maybe even to Tidal but I just haven't messed with it. Beats has virtually no Pink Floyd or Metallica which is just about a deal breaker for me.

  33. Waiting for the wife to return from WallyWorld run, then off to a Smithwicks for breakfast. Weather is holding at 60 degree days, i like it, workable boat time. Just ran into the old neighbor next door, great old guy in his 90s, ask me about strange smell he picks up sometimes, brought him over to show him the Boat project, Resin/Glass work does smell a tad sometimes. he also ask why he has NOT heard Patsy Cline for a couple months? i tell him it's because the neighbor behind him complained. He say's, fk-him, your allowed to make "Noise" between 7am and 10pm, you run your music between 9am and 6pm, so fk-him. I see a "Patsy Day" when i get home later today

  36. I have a bunch of Beatles albums, but don't listen to them often. Some favorites: Kum Back - i like it because it's an uncommon bootleg and I feel special having it in my library. i like to feel special. Revolver - Tomorrow Never Knows always reminds me to drop everything and go listen to The Chemical Brothers - Surrender, which then spirals out of control into an all day Chemical Brothers jam session. Rubber Soul - just a fun album. I usually just get my Beatles fix by watching "Across the Universe".

  39. Space doesn't get a lot of press right now, but SpaceX attempt to soft land a 14 story booster on a 300X300 foot platform in the Atlantic this morning after a "flawless" ISS resupply mission should be noted. No pictures yet, and SpaceX says it was foggy and bad weather around the platform so the video may not be much. However, they've apparently examined the platform and said there was a bit of damage but easily fixable for another attempt. It was characterized as a "hard landing," generally meaning that the spacecraft didn't crash but also didn't successfully land. Hard to tell if it hit hard, or hit the edge and fell into the sea, or what. Point is this is a milestone and what we should have done 30 years ago instead of the shuttle. Shuttle main engines were a marvel...50,000 parts. This booster is FAR less complex and SpaceX believes it can get 40 launches before needing significant repairs. It's what we need for a REAL space age. Dave

  45. So less speaker wires but more power and extension cords. Am I the only one not digging these? I want to be convinced and I want to love them - I REALLY DO. And the price seems 'Klipsch' quality, but I haven't seen specs and I don't know anything about the amp powering them AND now I have to place them by outlets?
