  1. I asked because I thought that was what you were talking about, a neighbor did this years ago and tried to talk me into it but I was chicken. Paid someone to drill it 375" and the water has no smell or taste. I don't know if it would help but these post drivers work very well for T post, it may be better than a sledge hammer ? What about a rental store, they had gas and air powered drivers

  3. Good morning friends................. BIllyB. you are welcome, my pleasure to share..........its seems that many here are interested in the technically mechanical/electrical and the pipe organ is loaded with it.... Pipe organs have also come a LONG way in the way the pipes are controlled. Digital / computerized relay systems have been installed by our firm since 1991. There are now pipe organs that are using BLUE TOOTH to communicate to the pipes WITHOUT wires from the console !! Its amazing... Back to the organ grind (pun intended ) and the usual Monday band rehearsal... Big show coming up Sunday... Enjoy your day...... ............Gary

  5. It sounds like the one I purchased last fall. I have had good results so far. Either side can be used as a grill depending on how large a surface is needed. It does seem to use a lot more fuel than the Brinkmann gourmet bullet style smoker and take more attention, but I'm still on the learning curve with it. BTW, it is great for babies----baby back ribs that is.

  7. Mornin' all. Been preoccupied with outdoor stuff the past couple of days and now trying to get caught up here. The rain is back and lousy forecast for the week, so projects are on hold again. Gary, those are great pics and a great story. Keep 'em coming. Guess they wouldn't appreciate my country/rock on an incredible instrument like that! (We did do some jammin' last week). When we travel to Germany, we always make a point of touring a cathedral or two and the first thing I look for is the organ loft. Will be going again in a couple of weeks. Chuck, love your clematis. Ours is starting to bloom too. MKP, let us know which grill you get (pics). Happy Monday.

  10. Some places in Florida has water not far below level. PVC pipe with water at pressure, can go down to the water, or sometime, aquifer. Provided not too rocky, lol! What do you say man? Good photography speaks for and to itself. Beautiful space Gary then. Very spacious yet focused to just the right position. Pipes vibrating my pantlegs is enough to consider, I have found the profession I wanted, plus, it is my job. Maybe it is, or not. No doubt different. Very involving. Thanks for posts all of you! Waco

  11. Sand point is a type of well point. https://www.menards.com/main/plumbing/pumps-well-tanks/pump-well-tank-accessories/water-source-1-1-4-x-36-drive-point/p-1392249-c-8672.htm You have to drive it down approx 20-30' adding 5' sections of pipe, you screw one of these on to drive it down so you don't damage things when you hit it with a sledge. https://www.menards.com/main/plumbing/pumps-well-tanks/pump-well-tank-accessories/water-source-1-1-4-ips-drive-cap/p-1392206-c-8672.htm http://www.extension.umn.edu/environment/housing-technology/moisture-management/driving-a-wellpoint/

  12. Good Monday Agternoon Gang Just back in from my farm visit, shot the new SubPanel to the waal in the Barn shop. Day Over. Projected next visit, Tuesday for Conduit run, well that was projected, because i told these farmers about this Killer Klipsch Deal on the Bay, they ask, so whem are you gettin them ? I pondered that statement, like i did with coffee and the wife this morning. Just submitted my offer we shall see. The wife said if i dont, i will be kickin myself for the next year, because she knows these are the ones i wanted before buying the EAWs. These are just too dam hard to find, cannot let this deal go by.

  14. This pic makes my pants tight! Everything looks so nice, the gear for one, but the cabinets, tops, and the flooring all look terrific together….I'm showing this pic to my wife I doubt the wife will have the same effect with the pants, but worth a try.

  15. That Clematis is lovely! Nan will want one, if she does not have now. Friend bought a Brinkman baby smoker(?) to replace another one for Memorial Day. It has 2 covered compartments and uses wood/coal(?) We'll see if any good. Not for babies...OT

  17. I have bought most of my tv's from Best Buy. My best experience was directly from the Panasonic site where they offered free white glove delivery and set up. Glad I am not in the market now as I am a huge beliver in both Panasonic and plasma technology and that combo is no longer available...

  19. Hello KAC members, Many of you may have seen these creations of Justin Weber a few months ago, and may have wondered what happened to these T-Rex of the Cornscala world. I finally set up these speakers in my living room, where I have an early HH Scott 299 integrated amp to power them. They sound amazing! The clarity and warmth is fantastic, and the 17 WPC of the Scott provides more than enough volume to fill the room and house. Every source I have, form vinyl to my iPhone's iTunes' low res music files, sound rich and musical. I live in Southern California, and so was lucky enough to get to meet Justin and pick up the speakers. He was very helpful every step of the way, and even helped me load them up, making sure they were well-secured for the 30 mile trip home. He is a great guy and was very generous with his time and expertise. It was a pleasure to working with him, and I feel I have acquired the best speakers around, and made a fiend at the same time. The workmanship and his attention to detail has resulted in a kind of benchmark for Cornscala-type speakers. They made my stock Cornwalls sound pale by comparison, and they complied beautifully my wife's interior design code (slightly sinister looking, but in a traditional way). Everyone who has heard them has fallen in love with them (and I have some pretty discriminating and opinionated friends). Feel free to contact me for more details or pictures. Thank you Justin, and keep doing these things that you love to do! Scott

  28. I know you said no more than $100, BUT here is the Grado SR80i that I use with my two channel setup. Bought it used from a Forum member. Amazon has a used one in great shape for $130 shipped. Can't comment on the other Grado models but I get lost in the music with these. Way more comfortable than my previous cans, Sannheiser HD-280. If you're going to be mobile with your Fulla and tossing your music stuff in a backpack, here's what I use. Surprising sound (and bass) for the money and they're extremely comfortable. Good luck in your search.

  32. Well I didn't want to leave you all hanging this week so I thought I would stop in and say hi. Been busy trying to drive a sand point by hand, things were going good until my drive coupler got screwed up. Sounds like you all have been busy this last week as well. Well I should be popping in time and again in different threads, so if you miss me you can all ways find me lurking in the shadows .

  33. Well, the one thing i paid a mind to when this current system was done, was the age of the neighbors, thinking what they grew up with, because i can handle anything but Rap. So, guy next door is 89, benny goodman era, guy on the back side of me 30s, new age current, got it handled. I play everything from Patsy Cline to Avenged sevenfold. So i figure they can put up with my "Pipe Organ", so far so good.

  34. Ah, Mark, hear you there with the music............... I had my live Diana Krall going, then went on to some other Jazz trio recordings, ended with some very cool and spacy New Age, good low end test for the new system. Neighbors sliders are all wide open (2 homes and all 3 back yards meet ours) so they were both getting an ear full at a good volume all afternoon............no complaints and no sliders were shut a good thing

  35. Good afternoon everyone...... LOVE to see some photos of the new deck and grill MKP DO SHOW !! Dtel, you would NEVER believe the power of some of these instruments when you get up close and personal, I was in that one last night setting up those lights and the organist was going over some music for the action scenes.... It kept getting louder and bigger with each passing second, next thing my pant legs were vibrating from the roar of it all PLUS the big 32' pipes along that wall........it is beyond a stereo effect. 2.5 story WALL of pipe chambers in front of me and then that whole section in those blue photos behind me.........I very quickly grabbed my earplugs and put them in ! The amazing thing with it all, is it is powered by WIND, no amps, no speakers and the sheer volume would take tens of thousands of watts I'm sure ! Lawn mower serviced=fresh oil / fuel.....damn thing started on the first pull after sitting since last year, same old gas too (a little left in tank). I don't understand why I have never had old fuel go bad. So many people I know run into mucked up carbs and fuel systems.... I use 93 octane for all the gas powered tools, it seems to have a longer life for what ever reason. OK, front and rear lawns done... NEW Sandstone painting of St. Francis statue done... Deck hosed down and clean for dinner party... Snowblower stored away... THREE 16.5 oz. of spring water consumed, time for a shower I think ....more later... ........Gary

  36. Good Afternoon Gang Every three months the city sends out a notice for yard/junk clean up, pile it the street kind of thing. Lived here six years and this is the first time the wife and i have a pile, Boat leftovers, bushes, half a tree. Wife and i started nippin at the Lagavulin about an hour ago, that helps. As best as i can remember, the last time i picked up the business end of a wheelbarrow, i was 10. Crankin SRV all day, im sure the neighbors know im out in the yard, not a peep, not a person all day....

  40. Karaoke? I don't know anything about it, but I have seen some of those dedicated karaoke machines with the built-in speakers. I've got to believe the Chorus II's ought to be about 10 times better than the best karaoke speakers I've ever seen. For 2-channel listening? Bliss.

  42. That's what I was thinking with one of the TVs I was reading about, it has a web browser built in, but you flip over the remote and it has a keyboard built in, that would not be easy to operate I would imagine, I have a hard time with a normal keyboard. But I read you can use a USB with a portable keyboard on some models.

  43. Get your choice of front end components, speakers, and room treatment right and EQ can be relegated to the closet (or garage sale preferrably). Some might find it helps with poor recordings, but remove it and you will hear an increase in clarity and inner detail. The more electronics you add to the chain, the more unwanted artifacts you end up with. I know I will be crucified for this opinion, but it is mine. Shakey

  48. I bought the Behringer DEQ2496, with the mike etc. about two or three years ago. With it in the system but on bypass you could hear it "dull" the system a bit, for lack of a better word. I used several presets suggested by MikeBSA2a3, one of our Jub owners with wide experience with digital eq. They made the listening experience better but not fantastic. I also tried the mike and automatic eq and a bunch of other stuff from the various menus. I got it to where it sounded as good as it could, but one day when I had a friend and Khorn owner ,who had extensively treated his own listening space, over for a session. At various points we were switching the eq in and out of bypass, he thought my system sounded way better in the bypass mode. So I played some more, then some more, and then I swaped a piece out of my system and just disconnected the eq and haven't used it since. The one thing I did try to do in this experimenter was not to change too much at one time, nor did I constantly fiddle with individual tone settings, which is good cause I can't tell a 30hz signal from a 600 hz signal. These things have a definite learning curve, not only in figuring out how to actually operate the gizmo, but to know when you are going astray from what you are trying to achieve by varying the settings. Now for something like Jubs, active seems to a better approach than passive because of time delays etc., but others can speak to that far better than I. For now, I'm living without eq and seem much more content with my listening, room nodes and all.
