Good hump day to all. The rain is still hammering south east Texas this morning. It's hard to tell where my pool ends and back yard starts. Doesn't look like much relief is in store for us as the week continues either.6 points

So this is not new to you at all, I did check out the website. I would bet in a haunted house with the right lighting he could make some people wet there paints when things start to move. There doing a lot more these days with servos, the servos also came a long way, with out them none of the drones or even just the little ones anybody can buy would work without servos. About the only experience I had with them was a radio controlled boat, it was wild, 70+ mph from a .65 cubic in motor running on 25% nitro. It was .65 cubic inches putting out almost 3 hp at crazy rpm's, it was a little scary.6 points

That's what the EQ 200 manual says, also... Hooking it all up The EQ 200 should be connected through the “Tape Monitor Loop” of your receiver, integrated amplifier, or preamplifier. Since the EQ 200 replaces the tape deck, remember to activate the “Tape Monitor” switch on your receiver, integrated amplifier, or preamplifier – as you would when playing your tape deck. Your tape deck can now be plugged into the back of the EQ 200.4 points

I use to watch a little MST3000, I thought it was funny but the movie part was hard to watch sometimes. BUT I have to ask, been thinking about it so here goes......... Building MST3000 robots, do your kids know, I ask because they may be thinking dad's loosing it, (maby even the wife wonders) he's building robots from MST3000, OK that's probably not what they thought you would be doing when you retired. Although for some strange reason I have a feeling it may not totally surprise them, it sounds like you have not done the normal standard things for a long time if ever. I say that as a complement, anyone can be normal I only mean this in the best way, well, as best as building MST3000 robots can be at least. Yes iv been making things , jump, hiss, scream, talk, and come out of nowhere for 20+ years, my thing has always been air powered, jerry and i hit off because he's been into servo controlled for just as long. A few ideas he has at skulltronix are from me, i just throw in my ideas for him to produce/sell, not really into the halloween thing anymore. Back in the day, the day after halloween, we would go and clean the front yard found tons of candy and most was not ours! When we scared the kids and parents they threw their bags wile running. We were good, Dam good. Check out jerry web site skulltronix.com -jerry has gotten pretty good over the last few years, pretty neat stuff.4 points

So I just pulled the trigger and joined the club... I'm hoping this will be it for a while for me, though I could have said the same thing several times over the last 5 years . I was always hooked on audio since I was young, mostly because my Dad was a complete techie and like most boys, I wanted to do everything he did. In my late teens, I took full advantage of the annual trade-in offer at the Bose Outlet and worked my way up from the 301s all the way to the 901s - which I thought were the "pinnacle" of home stereo equipment being a naive 22 year old college student. About that time the internet started taking off and I was shocked to learn that Bose were in fact not the most desirable speakers... Even though I really liked the 901s, I sold them through Ebay and moved on to Polk speakers and eventually settled on the Quintets from Klipsch around 2004. I was finally set for a while..or so I thought. Fast forward about 7 years and I was now married and in a new home with a large finished basement. My wife visited her parents and came back and commented on how much "fuller" her step dad's new Polk RtiA7s sounded compared to my set-up...little did she know the eventual cost of that statement. Sooo..I came back to the Klipsch forum and studied for a while. I ended up picking up the RF-62ii's and an RC-52ii due to space constraints of my entertainment center. First mistake as I ended up swapping that out for a RC-62ii and replacing the tv stand..and since the "bug" isn't limited just to speakers, I replaced my TV as well. Then came a new Emotiva amp a year later. Then a Denon x4000 simply to add X32 that my Denon 3313 lacked. I held off on upgrades for about a year and the itch began again..I decided to replace my Klipsch Sub (SW112) with an SVS SB13. I figured at this point I was "done" and my wife was surely at the end of her rope with all of my endless upgrades. I had always regretted not getting the 7s as the "what if" question always remained in the back of my mind. I just mentioned to my wife how some day I may want to upgrade, and to my complete shock, she told me to just do it. I'm turning 40 this year and this can be "my gift" she said. Like many of you on this forum, listening to and tweaking the set up is one of the few things that really provides me with pure enjoyment and stress relief (other than spending time with my family). I really, really hope this is it for a while, though I may have to block myself from this forum and AVS to stop "the itch." Anyway, that is my story. I'm hoping everything will be delivered by next weekend (I went with black, NIB from Mike at ASD for a ridiculously good deal) and I will try to post some pictures at that point. I don't post often but I visit this place countless times a day, so I figured it was worth sharing.3 points

My money's on the mid. I'd take Deans suggestion and run with it. Lascalas normally have a piercing mid, not tweet.2 points

It would be nice if it could move a little to the West, even 50 miles would help they could use it in those lakes.2 points

Mornin' all. We are getting our upper level painted this week and the joint is in disarray. I still have delusions of doing the lower level myself. We'll see. Baxter is visibly p.o.'ed that his house is different with furniture pulled out, etc. Carl, my sympathies on all the rain. We've had a lot, but nothing like your area. Chuck, that front porch looks great and so does LF. Maybe you guys can start some guitar duets. Cheers.2 points

LOL! You point is well taken! I had NO idea it had been out that long, for all I knew it could have come out last week. Can you tell I'm not a big movie person? With your permission, I'll still edit out my comments. You look fine, I'm the idiot! +++ Edit: I just went back a previous page and saw all the jokes made at my expense. My penance for my error is "no editing allowed." I think I've got to take my medicine like man this time. Did the Titanic really sink?2 points

yes, there are devices you can buy that will allow you to do that. My dad did it with all his old videos. Good luck, and for what you'll likely pay for a device you're only use a limited number of times, you might want to look into finding a company that offers the service in your area. There's a small company here in San Antonio that offered to do it for my dad, but he was persistent on having his own machine. The company recorded one VHS tape for free, like a sample, and the video quality was better than I thought it would be, and definitely better than what my dad ended up getting out of his machine.2 points

Before the speculation and advice gets too wild, you need to determine if it is the mid-range that is too hot or is it the tweeter? This piece of information is critical2 points

At least you have the concrete part done, right? I might have to chip a little more when I move the pipes but I won't know that till I try next weekend. I've side drilled the slab so I can put a couple of pieces of rebar in and prevent the new concrete from settling. After that, I'll build the shower enclosure and start on the pan.2 points

LF and I rode 12 miles on our bikes....about an hour and 20 minutes. Jake sat it out in the AC. Mosquitos are active so he stays in quite a bit. Ever notice how the days run together when you don't work? Well next big project is planning lunch. Cheers Ladies and Gents2 points

It wasn't quite so one sided as that. Tony George, the CEO of Indy wanted to lower the cost to race, and he faced a whole group of car owners that didn't want any changes. A few owners sided with George though. SO each side took their stand, and actually separated and ran 2 series for about 10-12 years. Open wheel racing in the US paid the price for these men arguing. It still isn't back to where it was. I think he ruined the sport when he pulled that, and I don't think it ended up being less expensive in the long run.1 point

The Q&A is probably just smokescreen & all they do is check your IP Address while you're taking the test. (lol)1 point

Aside from Fight Club & ******, I just never found any of Brad Pitt's performances to be believable. I'll have to check out Fury sometime. For me, this has been my go-to-standard for war/soldier epics. Best to binge watch it, just gotta find the time to get thru it over a long weekend.1 point

I actually thought the Palladium would emerge as the king of the hill, but Khorn retains it's crown!!!!! It's good to know that a 69 year old speaker design can and does hang with modern designs!!!!! Love my old school Klipsch as well!!!!!1 point

I finally got around to watching American Sniper this weekend. One of the rare movies that exceeded the hype - just a fantastic movie and great visually and audio-wise as well! Having a 2 and 4 year old my wife and I rarely get to watch anything non-animated nowadays so it was nice to get to experience a great movie for a change.1 point

Here is an article about the classic case of the childhood genius delusion of parants. This kid lived near us, and one day he is on 60 minutes. When I spoke to him I always thought him to have had great memory, way above average, but as far as independant analytical thought, I really didn't think he had anything beyond what other kids his age had. It was all his dad, it was his Dad's career to promte this kid as a genius. Very, very sad. However, it is just as bad with sports, and a whole host of other things where hucksters aim to seperate delusional parents from their money. Dave, what makes you believe that insurance companies will give up their stranglehold on drivers? I can't imagine that they are going to relinquish the billions they collect in premiums without a fight; and I can sooner see them buy the technology and bury it. Just my opinion............
