  1. so met with the doctor today...she said those magic words...”I’d like to look inside your colon.” Well, she didn’t put it exactly that way... Nice gal though...and patient....as you can probably guess, i ask questions and say things that i probably shouldn’t. She was cool and answered all my questions, such as: 1. instead of a colonoscopy, what about those camera pills, that i swallow and it takes pictures. Her answer was basically no. 2. do i have to be put to sleep--the meds didn’t put my brother to sleep and he watched the procedure on the monitor--he said it didn’t hurt a bit. She said i could stay awake if i want; but, she’d prefer her patients be asleep because if she has to remove a polyp, she’d rather them not move when she’s about to cut it. 3. can i wait till after the holidays? YES. I told her i’d call after the holidays and she said “we’ll schedule it right now, i already emailed the prescription to your pharmacy.” I said, “this is really going to happen isn’t it?"

  2. Haven't been around much, just busy, plus I don't care to read about peoples opinions of serious subjects around the world. It seems some like to debate just to debate, not interested myself. So instead of the usual moderators talking about if something should be zapped I might just zap them and let them deal with it. I am sure I will make new friends like that. Or they will zap me.

  4. Good morning gang 33 and dam sure feels like it, im layered w/ski cap, double foot heaters. Coffee/Duggans is 50' away, suppose i shoud fetch it. Colon talk eh? Once they get their hands on my azz (Pun Intended) ill likely be getting my Nap for the day. Nobody has been asking, noboby has been saying i need one, but i do think im about due for a 5point inspection. Next week i tap into the SS system, it's time, it's due, and im ready to party on their dime. Dodge hub/Drum is sitting here looking at me, im good with that. The forum Drama queens are back in full force if anyone has noticed lately, appears they are tired of Chatting up on the BS thread, right back to being the open internet again. I came to an Audio forum to get away from standard web trolls, but alas im trying to ignor Their pittyfull mindless rant, making the Klipsch forum NO better than any other POS out there. <Rant Off> Coffee tasting mighty fine, wife to be in the kitchen for the next 24Hrs, im mean hey, i did give her a chance for Reno, but she does like to cook.

  9. Happy Thanksgiving Eve guys. Got my turkey brine ready almost and about to give the bird a 24 hr cold soak for tenderness and flavor. Still planning on smoking it with pecan wood for a couple of hours and transferring it to the oven. May need my parka and snow boots, but what the hell. Big Stew, I just had that procedure done about 10 days ago and it just isn't that big-a-deal compared to the benefits. It is SO worth it. You will be fine and will get through it with flying colors. 3 or 4 of our friends have also had it done recently. Enough for a focus group!! Gotta get busy here but will try to check back in a while. Cheers to all.

  11. Morning guys. I had a colonoscopy about a month ago. One polyp was removed......now good for 5 years. Not too bad Steve. Certainly better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick Was pg 661 ever found? I'll have to check. Talked to a FB friend who is a gun fancier and he has me about talked into building my own AR-15 from parts. Says it is a lot of fun to shoot something you build yourself.....I guess Got out your stretch pants or are you going to do what dtel does and stay in a loose bathrobe all day Wonder if Steve puts catsup on his faux turkey? Must be rough to be a vegetarian this time of year. If I don't get back here today.....you guys have a great Thanksgiving. Post some photos of your meal please Cheers Ladies and Gents

  13. I was punctuated years ago. I now have a semi-colon after partial resection of my sigmoid colon secondary to diverticulitis. The first surgeon the hospital sent to discuss the surgery wouldn't make eye contact. On the recommendation of a neighbor, who was a surgical nurse, I met with another colo-rectal surgeon. I chose him because he was not intimidated by my yellow legal pad full of questions, plus, he had small hands so I figured he'd only need a tiny incision. The point of the foregoing ramble is that I must get a colonoscopy every 5 years. It's not fun, but colon cancer would be worse. One time I called to schedule an appointment and a woman answered the phone, "Oakland Colon-Rectal, can you hold?" When she came back on the line I asked if they could come up with a different way to put people on hold. To many of the callers the answer might be, "No, that's why I'm calling."

  16. Diz - You are the 1st to nail my location. Muskegon Yacht Club was blocks away from home, and I probably know some of those Spring Lake scow sailors you no doubt ran with. Ice boating is a recent endeavor that has no real comparison - wind driven at 50-60 mph with no brakes! Maybe a flat track motorcycle with studs but that is not quite the same. A nice sheet of frozen lake ice can be completely ruined by the smallest of snowfalls which explains the popularity in the Wisconsin locales - cold temps and little snow on the windward side of Lake Michigan & a HUGE lake (Winnebago) and so many others in close proximity to race on. My avatar pic is my Arrow boat & a friend's 24 foot Skeeter watching a tug break ice on Muskegon Lake. His boat has seen GPS speed of 85mph, and it is a 2 seat "boat" originally built by the Chris Craft corporation back in the 50's by the sons of the owners. As for the pizza, Mr Scribs in Muskegon still puts out a great pie if you like greasy thin crust with "all" the toppings. Some Place Else would be for those who prefer a traditional crust.

  24. This is very true! Anyone who likes seafood and has never been to Pappadeaux's needs to check it out. It is very reasonably-priced for high quality seafood. Their trick is they combine mush and slop with everything, and it all goes together so nicely. Portions are large. Jeff, When my three months was up in San Antonio, my best friend flew down, and we took a week long rode trip getting back. Went to the big easy, went bow fishing on an air boat one day, and shotgun duck hunted and were dropped off by the same air boat the next day. Bought about 8 pounds of the Largest fresh Shrimp we could get at the docks and went to the Hyatt I believe in New Orleans and peeled them all and plugged the toilet trying to flush the shells. Ate both Raw and fried Oysters with some of the hottest horse Radish I have ever had at the restaurant on the corner right across from the Beniot place that is so famous in New Orleans. Checked out the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky and Mammoth Cave on the way home. We ate at two separate PappaDeuxs in Texas, and they had a 7 pound lobster in the tank Roger I like road trips. They give so many great memories.

  26. I am extraordinarily happy with my H3's. I cannot tell you how happy I am that my ears stop just short of hearing all of the things you guys hear. And I wouldn't know what a mylar capacitor was if it bit me in the butt. Sitting here in ignorant bliss with no desire to rip open a perfectly great speaker to try to make it "better".

  27. Or a Texas Dairy Queen. Both default to that recipe for the basic burger...just like God intended. Both of those are amongst the best of the chain burgers. But both only hint at the home made perfection of a Texas hamburger made AT HOME. Dave

  31. There was no home theater, but PWK was a big advocate of three channel stereo as well as the proper way to position speakers so that the soundstage remained stable throughout a large percentage of the room. He was not an advocate of speaker placements that required one to sit in a tiny sweet spot.

  35. So that's a NO. But that's OK. That thin crust greasy garlicky pizza is an acquired taste. In GH the Clover Bar has excellent more traditional pizza. I like both and choose Clover Bar more often, but every now and then a Fricano's pie is the only answer.

  37. Its the little things that keep us smiling found a 55 gallon steel drum and set it up as a burn barrel today, first small burn proved productive plenty of air intake with the 6 X 1/2" holes around the bottom, I can even toss some wood in it and cook some dogs or burgers as my Webber grill grate fits perfectly inside the barrel Gotta drill 4 holes for some 1/8" X 1" bolts to set the grate on....................Getting Dark out now so tomorrow is another day

  44. I agree. It may be difficult to find a single Cornwall I think but having 2 on either side of an AT Screen and one behind, even a "beater" one would be an incredible sound stage. Then add some Hereseys to the back for surround. Then he can use his AVR as a pre-amp for the mains for music and still have a sub out and then let the built in AVR amp run the surrounds. It would probably be worth getting a matching amp for the center though. Its funny in that HT was not even a remote concept when PWK designed the Heritage stuff but they are amazing for it. You just hear every little detail in the movie and it sucks you in like you are there.
