  1. Good evening my friends! Just finished reading through 3 back pages of the forum........WOW, all kinds of subjects are covered... Colons OH MY!!: Had my first inspection 6 years or so ago......nothing found, so every 10 years for this guy. All around Steve, it was a pleasant experience outside of the prep for it, which I started a day earlier then required... Chuck, I am here, just very busy with our work of tuning organs for the Christmas concert season.... ALSO, as Steve said, working on music for our last two Christmas shows of this year. Only thing is, my fellow keyboardist who was doing such an excellent job just quit !! So, we have contacted another keyboardist but he will not be ready to work with us until January, so, the next two shows, I will be the ONLY keyboardist, and our percussionist will be away as well, so we are down to seven players (our of nine)! Well, we shall get through it.. At any rate, Chris and I will be attending our usual dinner with friends for the holiday......the group is down in numbers this year to only 16 persons. It has been as high as 26 ! Chris special ordered a large bowl of root veggie salad from Whole Foods and that will be our dish to add to the feast... I will have my iPad and will take photos once again this year and send them along as it happens.... As usual, it always ends with a PIANO concert by our hosts and some of the guest faculty from YALE !! (yeah, it is always a big who's who of music professors from various colleges!) Enjoy your evening and I will catch up with you during Thanksgiving day ...........Gary

Ok, just lounging around here in my robe, but will be snapping into action soon for the travel to our friend's home for the big dinner/get together/music festival............oh, and wine, wine, and MORE wine (Chris is driving, oh but wait, I got to go back to worker bee mode tomorrow for one more day..........sigh..... ......) ........Gary PS. Again, I will upload some photos from the dinner..... .........later

  6. You can easily turn it into an ugly drum smoker. Yoh just need a lid and a charcoal basket. Built 1 last year and had to leave it when moved to NC, But as it happens my Webber Kettle lid fits the drum perfectly I found last year using charcoal as the main means of heat got rather expensive. I looked at an alternative heat source like hot plates etc... but found the ones made today wont maintain a temp. They make burners expressly for electric smokers but I have not got 1 to test out yet, I thought about using mainly wood with only enough coal to start the burn process but thought that would be to much smoke................I will be playing around with it some more I am sure. Meantime the webber kettle does a great job smoking using the snake method

  8. Elden, you’re a man of many talents...i’m not so skilled. I did build a fence, refinish hard wood floors, and cut a huge opening in a wall--those jobs turned out well. The tile walkway not so easy--didn’t turn out horrible; but not as nice as i wanted. i think i’m best at paying others to do things for me.

  13. Happy Turkey friends. Jake ... Baxter woofs greetings and is jealous of your feast. Sez he'll try to top it. We have a mob coming. About 10 people and a standard poodle. (The poodle should stay home but what the hell ... it's going home eventually). Will crank up the HT with football in our lower level so there's a place to bail out. Gonna get the smoker cranked up in a bit and do about 2 hours of pecan smoke on the bird before I hand it off to Better Half Unit to finish in the oven. It's just a ***** to smoke a 20 plus lb bird to finish at our altitude in cold temps and not gonna go there this year. (We have snow on the ground and more on the way). Blessings to all.

  16. Its the little things that keep us smiling found a 55 gallon steel drum and set it up as a burn barrel today, first small burn proved productive plenty of air intake with the 6 X 1/2" holes around the bottom, I can even toss some wood in it and cook some dogs or burgers as my Webber grill grate fits perfectly inside the barrel Gotta drill 4 holes for some 1/8" X 1" bolts to set the grate on....................Getting Dark out now so tomorrow is another day

  17. Happy Thanksgiving friends. Not much going on here, heading to the in-laws for turkey dinner, then to moms for pie. One of my good friends is in town, so we might meat up for drinks later this evening. No work for me tomorrow, I am quit spoiled at my job. Chuck, Jake looks comfy on that bed on patio. If the weather was nice here, I would get drunk and pass out on a bed like that on the patio, of course not by choice. Have a good one folks.

  30. I guess I'm a dick also then. If you post politics in a thread about giving thanks you are. Isn't that the weirdest thing someone could post? Seriously. I am thankful for my family and friends and that we actually live in a great country, regardless of political views...

  31. God’s love, mercy, and grace on this messed up guy that has the same name as I do. Relatively good health. Ears are failing me big time; but, powerful amps help. People talk of a bad economy; but, it hasn’t affected me a single bit -- I have far more than i need in life--i realize that. I’m very fortunate in many ways. oh yeah, thankful for my ketchup.

  35. The condiment wars began a few years ago, in a forum far`far`away, although a lot closer than that in reality. It has been said that the first shot was fired by a big guy hell bent on promoting ketchup as the King of Condiments. A rebel alliance quickly formed but has always been at a disadvantage in a land dominated, much unlike the rest of the planet, by ketchup. Reinforcements have been called, yet there has been no answer due to lack of interest. The rebel alliance is desperate, with some even changing their screen names in order to escape the all encompassing scrutiny of the ketchup mongers. Only a claim that not eating ketchup will clear up tinnitus will suffice to sway the storm troopers of the tomato based life form to relent, if not repent, and overthrow the tyranny. Our lord of condiments, pray for us now in our hour of need, and pray even for the tyrannical tomato based oppressors.

  36. Derrick, Think about this..... It appears from the photos that the entrance to the room is just in front of where the phone is mounted to the wall. This should remain a walkway. Just to the left of the walkway is the front edge of coffee centered to the screen. Your couch instead of being set like a "L..... Set it up like "V" with the coffee table in the center. Those big *** subs should go behind the "V" shaped seating area in an array ... 2 angled in from each outside wall and 2 more closed to the center. As far as that chair and foot stool. That needs to go all the way to the back of the room..... Just a thought G.E.M

  37. I didn't see the entire transaction from start to finish, but if I am reading the other posts correctly, you got $2500 worth of Klipsch Belles for 800 bucks. You did good, Stinky. WVU80 - NO NO NO My deal was done back in January as evidenced by Budman's original Alert post date. I simply fessed up to it by resurrecting the thread. I wouldn't say they were worth $2500, nor would I have put that much out for a set. The final push to get them was made by a "help you spend some money" forum member known for being 1st to the exceptional finds. As far as the other thread, I was giving a range of pricing for the beloved Belles to the Cedar Rapids value inquiry: There is no such thing as "normal". Belles have sold for $200 - $4,000 per pair. Pick a number you're comfortable with and search - hard - every day - and you will find what you're looking for. $1500 for pristine condition Belles isn't out of the question. - Mark?! You may even wish to consider Lascalas which tend to come up more often, have a smaller footprint, & run $6-1200, condition dependent. My Belle's are staying put for a very long time.

  38. Good mid morning gang I see iv upset yet another internet troll, when they follow you around and get themselfs off by jabbing at you, you know you have hit a nerve.... LMFAO I Had a little respect for someone who has been around for 10+ years, but then again, 10+ years with ONLY 400+ likes? Yeah, And the trolls wonder why they are lonely . Nice Nap, wife cooking, lazy day. Couple bench projects but no hurry. New Mr Crow gets shipped next week, Servo is still here waiting in the box Wife will get the next Crow and servo when finished, i think it would be fun to have them interactive with each other, First Mr Crow is already. Oyster stuffing coming up, im seeing the fixins on the counter....yeah baby

  39. Update - I was the stinky one - and it was very cool of the seller to drive them 2 hours south to complete the transaction with me. Looking back, sometimes it just all works out even if not as good of a deal as others I've since seen.

  40. Haven't been around much, just busy, plus I don't care to read about peoples opinions of serious subjects around the world. It seems some like to debate just to debate, not interested myself. So instead of the usual moderators talking about if something should be zapped I might just zap them and let them deal with it. I am sure I will make new friends like that. Or they will zap me.

  45. Good morning gang 33 and dam sure feels like it, im layered w/ski cap, double foot heaters. Coffee/Duggans is 50' away, suppose i shoud fetch it. Colon talk eh? Once they get their hands on my azz (Pun Intended) ill likely be getting my Nap for the day. Nobody has been asking, noboby has been saying i need one, but i do think im about due for a 5point inspection. Next week i tap into the SS system, it's time, it's due, and im ready to party on their dime. Dodge hub/Drum is sitting here looking at me, im good with that. The forum Drama queens are back in full force if anyone has noticed lately, appears they are tired of Chatting up on the BS thread, right back to being the open internet again. I came to an Audio forum to get away from standard web trolls, but alas im trying to ignor Their pittyfull mindless rant, making the Klipsch forum NO better than any other POS out there. <Rant Off> Coffee tasting mighty fine, wife to be in the kitchen for the next 24Hrs, im mean hey, i did give her a chance for Reno, but she does like to cook.

  46. My take on the traditional Comprese Salad I don't really care for Basil, fresh or otherwise. For whatever reason it all tastes rather "metalic" to me. I guess my taste receptors got screwed up somewhere along the line of some 40+ years of one substance abuse or another. No matter... These days I lay down a bed of Romaine hearts, add 3 or 4 sliced Campari tomatoes, a few generous slices of fresh Mozzarella secured from the local Italian grocer and top it all with Kosher salt, corse ground black pepper and very VERY good XVOO. Combine with a few of slices of a decent locally baked French bread and a glass or two or seven of cheap red wine and I've got a meal that fills my tummy an lulls me to sleep. Who can ask for anything more? Here's what it looks right before I shove it in my pie-hole less the bread and the wine.

  48. John..... Thanks for the time and effort to measure and post your findings. Many members that have never performed test like these have no idea how involved and time consuming the testing and posting can be. Very Interesting comparison data. Looks like the BMS would be a step up over the B&C and the Radian/Truextant Be an order of magnitude step versus the BMS or B&C. I'm especially impressed with the Radian/Truextent Be performance and would love to listen to it versus the TAD TD4002. I consider the TAD TD4002 as one of the best advancements to my system that I have made. For those interested here is a pdf of the Radian with stock Aluminum diaphragm versus the Truextent Be diaphragm. miketn TTB001_BeX_Vs_Radian.pdf
