Sounds like something out of a big city. I don't think I ever seen such a thing. You typically see people with a cart full of stuff let somebody with a few items go ahead of them. I admire your composure and quick thinking.4 points

You beat me to it, i was going to say it looks like one of those "hold my beer and watch this" kind of thing. We don't need no stinkin brakes It's not 100% redneck, there is no cup holder4 points

Yes, it's a Honda S2000 with a roll bar and sticky Dunlop tires. I watched a Wheeler Dealers episode where Edd China explained in layman's terms the variable valve timing of the S2000. The prior owner sold it to Mike cheap due to an inability to get the variable valve timing system to work properly after an engine rebuild. Edd found a stray bit of silicone sealant, no bigger than a finger nail, blocking an oil passage that operated the valve timing mechanism. That bit removed and it all worked flawlessly. Any suggestions, such as oil type, air induction mods, etc. or issues to avoid? He'll be floggin' this thing pretty good.4 points

Afternoon gang Just back in from shipping cookies. Local chain market same lot, thought id refresh the Haggen-Daz supply. Upon approching the check out, (many were open and no real lines), I see this nice old lady walking toward the cashier, 10' feet to go she has, im behind her and in NO hurry. Just then out of nowhrere woman/cartfull of food, wham, right if front of the old lady and me. The old lady and i both said "Excuse Me" at the same time. She looked at us and said, im in a hurry and dont have time for lines, or snippy people who complain The cashier is like, waiting to see wich one of us is going to take this POS down This wacco then yells at the cashier, Well, are you going to do your job? and check me out? Cashier is now frozen/freaked, old lady and i are freaked, stroke of thought occurs to me, i reach past the wacco woman, and push the switch on the plug strip register/Atm, everything goes down I look at the wacco and say, NOW what you going to DO azzhole? Applause comes from a line now formed behind us, wacco runs from store, no food/goodies for her Life in the Burbs.4 points

Love you long time Sarg My kind of thinking True American, when we see something we can make better, when we look at something and think of how we can build something to have fun. CeC has good input, i suggest a swimming pool store and pick up a couple of those foam tube looking things, lace them on. You dont want anyone with stiches on xmas. So how do you steer that thing? Or is it like an inner-tube, "you don't. " Where is the closest snow to you? That ia going to look great on youtube.3 points

PWK signature is as rare as a wet fart! That's funny Zim. $1000 (or less) for K-horns would have more value - to me - than some penmanship, but maybe that is just me. Debating the authenticity, and potential increase in value, seems futile. There's several thousand people who feel any Khorns for $1000 or less would have more value. In fact, almost everyone would buy a pair for 1k or less, because they could use them or store them until they could find a home for them. I would pay that for a 2nd pair just so I could stack them and it wouldn't be tweeter to tweeter. 1 problem, my ceilings aren't 9 foot Those on the Bay are worth $1500 all day IMO Mark3 points

Normally you can get the most horsepower per dollar form aftermarket engine management programs. Basically it's new software for your engines computer. There are good ones and bad ones. I'm sure there's an S2000 forum out there. It would be a great source of info. Most high flow air filters (K&N for example) don't flow any appreciable amount more air than stock ones and allow more dirt through as well. HERE's a great article for the K&N fan boys to read. Yes, I hate them.3 points

All manufacturers work hard on NVH (noise vibration harshness). I'd be shocked to find out that a manufacturer didn't have one.2 points

I'm a huge fan of Chorus II. I have Crites Ti tweeter diaphragms also. I loved em hooked up to my big vintage Sansui receiver. The midrange sounded great and never fatiguing. I EQ'd the bass some, but I do that with all my big speakers lol. It sounds like the source and/or room are causing problems?2 points

I just wanted to update everyone, that I went with the Canon t5. I like the idea of the weather proofing on the Pentax. But the Canon was on sale, so I didn't go to far over budget. Plus I got a warranty and two 16gb memory cards. We will see how she likes it. Thanks for all the input, I learned quite a bit about cameras from this thread, more than I ever thought I would know. Thank You.2 points

Thanks for all the advice here! I am going to go with the Stahl Iron from parts-express as it has an actual temp control and looks like a good deal. The station itself looks solid as well. I will keep you guys posted on my first projects with it. Im probably going to upgrade the caps on my Lepai Class T amp so my speakers dont pop etc then do the caps on my KG 5.5.2 points

Sure are. Finally decided to stop hooking up my main speakers up to my multichannel amp. The amps I wanted to try are the Parasound JC1 mono blocks or even the new ATI Signature series, but the Emotiva XPR-1's were priced really well for what you get on the used market. Slightly higher S/N ratio, but 118dB is still really really good. I think the JC1's are a tiny bit better.2 points

facebook is what you make it. age group and maturity feed directly into it. younger folks may obsess, judge, feel judged - directly affects self esteem more mature people can keep up with family and friends. and, of course, there are always the crazies that come in all ages -- relatives, neighbors, everywhere i have reasonable contacts (aka family members) and slightly crazy ones (aka family members). i can turn off 'notifications' and filter out the CRAP i don't want to see. i like some of the jokes and motivational things, and i save the best video clips for lunchtime with MKP:-) https://www.facebook.com/CampfireStories/photos/a.263532007016521.57807.139496192753437/693791253990592/?type=3 i do like the connection (most of the time)2 points

Hope you never lose your eyesight. That is a whole different thing. No prts, no kids on the plane should be the rule. A Seeing Eye dog should be allowed anywhere, anytime. They are a completely different thing. I have flown with them, dined with them, they disappear into the background.2 points

Morning Gang First cup down, i see it's dam near the Hump in hump day. close to noon. Dealing with a Bay vendor for Mr Crow parts that now being produced once again. He his sending everything i should have had in the "Complete Kit" from the indiana seller. Thank god he came up back in business when he did. Ebay seller is saving me shopping for the next 6Mo. Last email exchange between myself and the First kit i bought, was me stating to the seller, if you have never built a Crow then there is NO WAY you could know what a complete "Kit" looks like. He was the one who got ripped off four years ago, and all he did was sell it to me. I have not ask for my money back, aint going to happen, im NOT that way when i feel someone simply did not know any better. I end it, i eat it, but i end it. I just told him, from now on when buying a "Kit" from someone, you should "Know" what it should contain. You might not run into someone like me who will just write it off and move on. Thank you. Applying for the SS last week they said check back in 5 days, just did. "A decision has been made" We will inform taxpayer by mail of these "Decisions" Decisions eh? that does not have a happy sound about it Called my Lawyer and ask whats up with that statment? He said they mess with a certin number of people all the time. Told me if the decision is to mess with me, bring in the letter and we will start "The Process" Impending FedEx run to ship cookies to the world traveling daughter. Have not wrapped the box yet, maybe i should "Inspect" the contents, you know, make sure the cookies are properly secured2 points

Cigs were into Chevy power in my deckhand/playdays. 25+ years ago was my last exposer and that one had twin 350s. these would be either punched/blueprinted 454s or some of those "Custom" marine power plants they started offering as an upgrade.2 points

I have two 2nd stampedes ordered as to be equal to the kids, and when I recover from that I'll probably order a Summit crawler for myself maybe this summer. My wife is more excited about it than I am it seems. There was a deal on Monday when I ordered that if you get two you get the Traxxas drag race system with the Christmas tree and laser timers for free, so I have that coming as well, it's usually $210 by itself.2 points

If you go the 3 way route model you quoted above, you will be on your own with EQ. There is no "not behind the screen settings" for this setup. I've asked more than once. You would have to RTA your setup. Then make your own adjustments. This can be time consuming. However, if you get it right.......hard to beat. jc1 point

They are beautiful. Isn't it amazing how incredibly attached we can become with these creatures, whether they be dogs, cats, etc? I've had many dogs and cats, and the emotional connection that can develop is nothing short of stunning. Some folks don't like dogs, some don't like cats, some don't like pets at all, but my opinion is that they are missing out on a very important relationship that they will never forget.1 point

Someone just got suckered on a pair of mono blocks. May have been me the buyer, not sure! They have ample headroom though, I'm pretty sure I was clipping on 5 or so songs as the parts that previously had distortion sound better now. All other songs sound the same. Mainly it's songs with really dynamic drums or slamming of piano keys that sound better. These are actually pretty decent amps as far as noise floor and output. I put my ear into my mid-range and hear no hiss. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EMOTIVA-XPR-1-PAIR-OF-MONOS-/272068301545?1 point

After almost 10 years I just bought all new TVs. Check out the Visio M60 C-3 to come in under budget. Slick deals "hot deals" is a good place to watch. I got a Samsung 7000 series and a few 8500 series. The 7000 is nice, but the 8500 has better wifi and a much nicer interface / remote etc. Just set one up last night and could immediately stream HD from youtube. The 7000 could not stream in the next room over the wi fi (these TV's are pretty far from the router). A new router also just arrived so I hope it helps the 7000, but the 8500 is fine with the old router. The 55" 8500 can be had for $1500. The 65" is $2000. These were each less on quick ebay deals on Black Friday from authorized re-sellers, but even at the current prices, they are well priced compared to over the summer. Another nice one is the Sony 850. A 65" is $1800 at Frys (my mother just bought one a few days ago). The Samsungs are also able to be controlled and mirror a phone or tablet. That will be very nice for online content. I will probably get rid of cable and the better TV makes it much easier to do so.1 point
