  2. To pick the RC51 over those bikes you mentioned is high praise for sure. Actually is WSBK, Collin Edwards raced against the Ducatis. Nicky mainly raced against the GSXR 1000 in AMA SBK. Hayden won 1 championship, Edwards won 2. To me , those were the good ole days. I'll have to get my dad on this forum.... He doesn't have any Klipsch ..... But he has a bunch of bikes.... I bet he knows exactly what that bike is..Think I've told a couple of you guys about my dad... He's a nut... Raced up into his late 60's. I think he was about 67 when he stopped... Me and my mom talked him out of it... He raced back in England. My dad was always about racing he was a horse jockey for years. For me I've never really been into bikes. I like em and think there cool.... I've rode a few in my day and I did like it. But for me it's always been cars. And hell as far as horses you can keep em.... My dad would get me summer jobs on the track.... walking horses and stuff like that.....The day I got bit in the face and kicked in the thigh I knew the horse thing was not for me One day I'll tell ya the story when I got caught driving my Chevelle around Pimlico race trace... Yea where they have the Preakness..... It was fun while it lasted Later.... MKP :-) Hey Mark, your Dad sounds like a cool guy, racing anything is a buzz. I was talking about Honda motorcycles because you're a Honda guy. This is one of the finest engines Honda has ever designed.

  4. Ceptor - I owned an RC 51 a couple three years ago, Nickey Edition. Kind of like amps I've owned more bike than I care to list but owning a 'Busa, ZX14, R1, Ducati 998, etc. I found the Nickey the most intimidating. Like you said, built by Honda Racing to compete against the dominant V-twin Ducs, it dominated the Ducs with Hayden aboard. I owned for less than a couple years then let it go before I killed myself. That bike truly was a beast.

  7. Good afternoon my friends... Great on the bike topic.... Only thing about Honda and their bike division that I and many fellow riders noticed is......they come up with some fantastic ideas for bikes......produce them, get everyone hooked, and then they discontinue models just when they are catching on!! One example, the Rune ! Ok, here in Music Hall, enjoying a little down time from rehearsals today, taking in a live concert from Berlin once again... (0: Photos to follow....

  8. It's kind of funny....a few months before New Year's, he called and asked if we had plans for New Year's. I said not really why? His plan was to try and get it finished by New Years. I told him, "Let's just not put a year on it". LOL I absolutely can't wait to make the trip up there to pick it up. I'll likely take the GoPro and try and document the journey to share with everyone. Thought about even doing a timelapse of us building it once we get it down here.

  11. Good evening my friends... I am over on RTM playing some classic jazz vinyl with a great group of regulars that have joined in... I enjoyed the discussions here with the bikes, and MKP engine 'rebuild' as well... With much tasty vino going down nicely, and after a very successful rehearsal with the band for the Vegas show, it is time to relax on this Saturday evening ... Here is a shot of Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue' on the Rega rp6 side two which has just concluded....

  19. dear god please do not spend 4 grand on a jl audio sub. i have owned a svs pb-13 ultra and head a jl fathom 113 in the same room and tell you that the svs will trump it in every aspect except if you cross very high like 100hz or something. if you really want to take your home theater to a new level skip the WAY overpriced JL audio stuff and look into JTR, Seaton Sound, Or deep sea sound. these are three to buy right now. of course as bill mentioned diy is king, however after recommending it to so many people then answering countless questions and seeing how frustrating it can be for some i realize its not for everyone. if i ever payed for a commercial available subwoofer again it would be from one of those three companies. regardless of price. in fact if you are dead set on spending 4 grand per sub i say get you two of them deep sea sound 24" subs and call it a day. you will rise to the top in the subwoofer realm.

  20. IMHO upgrading should be based on perceived short comings...what don`t you like about your k-horns? what would you like to strengthen? if they are quite olkd you might look into refreshing the caps but otherwise there is no one formula to success here. It really depends on your music, your room, your other equipment, your taste that, as I said, focussing on making them sound right to you should be task #1. somefeddback to the froup about what you would like to accomplish would get you better responses. regards, Tony

  21. Closest I have ever come to dying, March 14th I went home from work after 2 hours not feeling well. Turned out I had the flu and worst I've ever had it, the flu turned into pneumonia and put me in the hospital for 8 days March 24th through April 1st. I was on oxygen and in sad shape, I spent a week after that at my sister's while she took great care of me feeding me and keeping me off my feet and well taken care of. Now back home as of yesterday April 7th, still a little weak but feeling stronger everyday. I have never been one to be sick, I don't think I have been in the hospital since I was born other than to visit others. I just turned 58 on March 8th, I still act and have felt more like 40 or even younger. This really sucked! This is me still a long haired hippy Rich

  22. Before you consider spending around $3,000 on upgrades.... you might consider going the other direction. Sell your Khorns, take the funds from the sale, add $3,000 (and likely some more to be honest) and replace the Khorns with the Jubilee's. You'll then end up with a 100% Klipsch engineered solution that will be better than your Khorns. If you are bent on only upgrading them, then I'd look for a 2" horn solution and get away from the smaller format horns.

  25. Well true to form.... can not even get the old leaking shower cartridge out of the valve body in the master shower. The cartridge and body have become one due to the calcium deposits. Part of the cartridge came out the rest remains stuck. Seems like the fact that part of it came out it was broken, don't know how it was working at all. The good news is there are two other showers still working in the house.

  26. Mark, being the Honda fan you are, I have a Honda motorcycle I'll bet you would like. It's a RVT1000r (RC51) It's not made by their normal bike factory, it's made by their racing section, HRC (Honda Racing Corp) RC51 stands for Racing Chassis #51. It has HRC stampings all over this thing, especially on the magnesium engine block and cylinder heads. It's 1 of a handful of bikes engines with gear driven camshafts, it has a terrific gear whine. And being a big Vtwin, it has that low rumble also. Honda made this bike specifically to compete against Ducati in World Superbike competition. It's pretty rare. I really like to work on it, it was put together to come apart easily, unlike most new bikes.

  27. Oh shitt.....weather is nuts.....we got ice coming down....WTF.... Yea Rog...it's a 3.5 As far as "leak down" test, this thing is going back together.....the leak down test will be me turning the key to start it. lol lol The pic looks worse than it is....yea the cross hatch marks are worn off but there's no scoring on the walls that I can feel...... Now if this was a 4 cylinder....yea....pop the pistons out and give them cylinders a little hone... Hey the Honda gods will be with me..... MKP :-)

  28. He's doing good considering. He still cannot remember things from one day to the next. He no longer drives. Things that used to be easy to do, now require a lot more concentration. He says "What used to take me 30 minutes now takes me 5hrs". But overall he's doing well. No more strokes since the third one. Believe he is still on blood thinners to help reduce the risk of another stroke.

  30. Holding on Swampoodle Review until we get our house sold. The PAW is still there and she is the host. We did a test run and it went well but as we need at least three shows as a "buffer" before we launch it makes since to wait. Got a reasonable offer today and hoping! Dave

  31. I would agree about sending them through UPS or the like. I think they are best suited for storage or transporting them yourself. Either way I am not sure what to ask for them. I would like them to help another klipsch owner and am not looking to make a ton off of them.

  34. I only have the towers so far (I'm getting a complete Klipsch Reference Premiere 5.1 setup, I'm just ordering the other speakers later as more funds become available), but this 2-channel stereo setup sounds absolutely AMAZING! I'm seriously so impressed. How is it possible I'm only running 2 channels but it already sounds like a movie theater in my bedroom!? The impact, the bass (I don't even have my subwoofer yet!), the clarity, the surround separation! I don't even have my center channel yet but the RP-260F's are so awesome they project the dialogue in a way that it feels like I have a phantom center. It's incredible. Question, guys. I'm ordering my RP-440C center tomorrow, and I have enough funds to order either my subwoofer (R-110SW) OR the surrounds (RP-240S) along with the center. I'll have to wait another 2 weeks until payday to order the last part of my 5.1 Klipsch RP setup, whatever that may be. So my question to you guys is, which do I order with my Center channel? Do I get the subwoofer so that I can have a 3.1 setup until my next payday, or do I get the surrounds and then order the subwoofer 2 weeks from now? Which is more important for the time being?

  36. You have a great set of speakers to work with. Keep an eye out on your local Craigslist for an RC-7. It's a HUGE upgrade from the RC-3. Your RC-3 will struggle to keep up with the RF-7's but that's something you can consider upgrading (if you have the room) down the road. They can be found for as little as $200, but typically around $350.

  37. HAHA! I used to fix toys when the kiddies were little. Some of them were even McDonald toys. LOL I hated to throw something away my kids were playing with and liked, so I would "paste them back together". One time my John Deere had a battle with a MecaGodzilla. Sadly, the Deere not only won, but destroyed the MecaGodzilla so badly that I couldn't paste it back together. So instead, I made up an entertaining John Deere vs Meca Godzilla story and made the kids laugh.

  42. If you're spinning this yarn there's probably money to be made. What do you think about using excess public hair? TRUE STORY!! before I went back to college, I used to work in a food warehouse with a guy named Larry. Never knew Larry's last name, but we called him Larry the legend. Larry wore a cowboy hat with cowboy boots and was pretty weird! Larry was in his 60's, had never been married, paid for prostitutes, and had a keychain hand woven of various pubes that he had "scalped" off of his "girlfriends" I swear on my love for my kids that is a true story :emotion-41:

  45. These ads have a Gmail address listed in the body of the ad, and it's the only way to reply. If you email them they reply that the item is already sold. But if you go to the website that they provide in the reply email, then you can "get the same deal"? I'm not willing to visit that website to find out what happens, but good luck.. hmmm.... there has to be a way to have fun with this... I will, of course, give a blow by blow. I will proceed with caution... Does anybody have a social security number they will lend me?
