My wife and I work a a facility for individuals with intellectual and development disabilites. Yesterday, The singer/actor, blah blah... Usher Raymond, came to the facility to dedicate an outdoor track. Usher donated the funds to build the track, used by our clients, staff and folks from the neighborhood. Although born in Texas, he grew up in Chattanooga, raised by grandparents. So... long story short, my wife got a picture with him. All her Filipino friends are jealous, lol. Bruce6 points

It's been cold by you for a while now, strange weather everywhere, 72 right now here with an expected high of 83, a little high for Feb. Mark and BSM, you two would have loved some the food we had in Mexico last week.6 points

Standing up to us food bullies, good on you! Some funny stuff here - "Del Taco is magic"; "Northern Mexico". Great stuff. Now El Gall Giro sounds like a place quality Mexican grub can be found.5 points
-
stop picking on me ... and Del Taco is magic. Here in Northern Mexico, eateries featuring Mexican cuisine are abundant. Actually, the best tasting stuff that i've found is a place called El Gallo Giro ... MinerMark will know where this is; on the corner of Edinger and Bristol. they speak little English; but, they know how to make some good chow.5 points

Very good, I don't know the name but we sure ate it all. One of the things was like 2 soft taco shells cut into triangles with shrimp and different cheeses melted in between. The other was fresh crispy taco shells with what looked like a little of everything in the kitchen on top, plus cut up jalapenos. There was also a small container of some green dipping sauce that was crazy hot, it made the jalapenos taste bland it was so hot. Very true5 points

How's about we include testosterone under the "everything" umbrella? Fair enough ---5 points

After upgrading, there is no comparison. I have full, rich bass from my towers, something the 367 literally couldn't produce. My r28fs sucked the amp dry. I never had issues with distortion though. Upgrading will give you a much clearer sound. Audessey room processing really changed the way I enjoy music and movies now that I have surround. The Yamaha would make a great receiver for a couple bookshelf speakers in the garage, but if you're spending that much on your speakers, skip the center and go for something that will let you enjoy your investment. Get the center later. Something new will also pass through 4k signals which the 367 doesnt. Just my .02 Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk3 points

That is awesome and glad to hear he's a good guy. It's really hard to tell with some of these entertainer types, they are selling an image, sometimes not even their own creation. I like to hear stories about the rise to stardom and not forgetting where they came from and giving back to their community. Not just cutting a check either, actually showing up and giving their time, I think that says a lot about a person.2 points

Hello everyone! Finally I have been able to start building my home theater. Just wanted to introduce myself rather than keep lurking in the shadows. I'm no audiophile, but have always had a strong appreciation for music and soundtracks. Here's a pic of my 2.1 set up so far. R28f + R12sw Yamaha Rx-v367 (from my old HTIB) PS4 Pro Samsung 65" 4k D630 Next im looking into a new reciever to properly power these. Followed by a center channel, surrounds, atmos, and a second sub eventually. I'll be building this over the next 12-18 months hopefully. Any feedback on the Marantz Sr5010 for power and futureproofing? Id like to have something I wont need to upgrade for the next 3-5 years without bankrupting myself. Being an x musician with a decent amount of time spent in recording studios....the engineers(I am far from one) really liked what tape could do. I really didn't understand it at the time but now I try to watch videos on youtube with engineers who like tape over digital and it seems to me that they are able to push or saturate tape in certain instances that works really well. Here is an interesting video interview of the great Phill Brown. He talks about tape for a good portion of it. I like this thread though and its pushing me to get a reel to reel soon as I can. A couple years ago I bought someones 100+ reel to reel collection. Most were recorded off vinyl but there are some factory ones.....I look forward to someday getting a reel to reel fired up in my system2 points

THEY HAVE BEEN SOLD. Hello everyone, I am going to be moving soon and have a lot of gear to sell. A simple matter of downsizing. I don't want to pack and haul all of this with me. I will provide a comprehensive list very soon. All the equipment is in very good condition to mint. Some I can ship and some will need to be picked up. This is not a fire sale however I am pricing all equipment at reasonable prices. I will be taking a loss on some items. I live 20 minutes from Pensacola FL & 20 from Mobile AL. Feel free to call me @ ( 251 ) 213 - 1388 Dean If you are interested in anything I have for sale please call me. I will be happy to talk, answer questions, negotiate, what ever. Tex ting and Emailing is not my choice of communication. Call it old school or whatever but a phone call is where I prefer to start. Pair of JBL 4430'S studio monitors Price $1900 Pick up only. I forgot to add a photo of the woofers, but they are in perfect condition. Sonically they are a 10 with all original parts. Cosmetically they are a 9+ Beautiful to look at. I am the second owner, The first owner purchased them placed them in his home and rarely used them. When I went to audition them he was running them with a low end receiver and only watched soft rock dvd's while playing them. He rarely played cd's but when he did it was soft rock. I took a cd with me so I could give them a listen. I turned them up just at normal listening levels ( not loud at all ) and he said he never played them that loud. I got them home and gave them a good run, they will crank. All drivers working perfectly. But what really amazed me was their sound stage. As good as any and better than most. Lots more gear coming soon. I also have a beautiful set of cornwalls and will try to get them listed next.1 point

if you have a set of K79 kicking around you might want to try those motors on your KG5.2 tweeter, same diaphragm just a much more substantial motor. One of the AK members noticed this and it would be worth a try at the very least it would enhance your power handling by a good margin. Enjoy you new to you KG5.5. PS: see that you have KLF30 with Crites ti diaphragms, swap the whole tweeter motor over for an audition and see what you think, it should result in nothing short of a spectacular improvement. (ooops that's DTR20 with the KLF30) maybe DTR20 will pay you a visit this weekend and bring his Crites loaded K79 with him for an audition on a larger set of horns.1 point

I was asked today when I planned on leaving this job...the ASKER is a brown-noser who has absolutely NO idea how many UNPAID hours I put INTO this job to ensure things are done in a timely manner. BUT, he is interested in taking the job when I leave (I currently plan to COMPLETELY RETIRE in about TWO years, because at that time I will be debt-free, but I could actually leave as soon as this coming October and still make it in retirement perfectly OK!). I just looked at him and thought: "Andy, boy...you outta let this guy get this job and see how long he lasts, which WON'T BE LONG"....so I straight out told him that I may leave as early as this October, but really plan to leave in just over two years. Then I told him: "it takes more than kissing hind end to get paid for MY job...and you ***** and moan if you have to put in one extra hour on anything, if need be, while you are being paid to work 24/7!...so good luck with getting the hourly rate in your semi-retirement and working in the evenings and on weekends with NO PAY just to accomplish the missions in a timely manner while everybody else is out doing whatever they want to do instead of any work around here!" He has NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what my job entails or how long it takes to get things done...and I am ten times as efficient as HE is at ANYTHING. I hope he gets it when I am gone...because it will be hilarious to hear from the folks who work here how much of a sorry arze he turned out to be after he starts actually WORKING for a living! Rant Over! Don't be THAT guy! LOL! C'MON March 2019!.1 point

Didn't "get it today"....but did get it on the road this past weekend. New to me...2004 Volvo S60R....bought it with a blown headgasket....had head/block decked and pressure checked...went ahead and replaced timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, tensioners, pulleys, coils packs, wires, plugs, all gaskets (head, intake/exhaust manifolds, etc...) and a bunch of other hoses, vacuum lines, charge pipes replaced with silicone upgrades. Has aftermarket downpipe, stainless exhaust and a very conservative tune....approx. 325hp I'd guess at this point with it hitting about 17lbs of boost. Needs a new radiator soon....plastic end-tank separates from core under boost...loosing coolant.....may go ahead and upgrade to a Front Mount Intercooler while replacing it. Paint is excellent...tires nearly new....probably replace rotors and pads soon as well. Not bad for $1800 invested....and a few weekends of work....was a fun ride into work this morning for sure....has the BEST factory sound system I'm ever heard....Harmon Kardon speakers with alpine amp...(4) 8" woofers (2)6.5" mids (2) 3" mids and (4)1" tweeters....run by a 75watt/ch Alpine amp......Navigation updated with 2016 maps/POI...leather is nearly perfect1 point

MJ has extremely detrimental effects on young people, and it creates a life sentence for the kids who have the nerual pathways in their brains rewired. It should be banned and stay banned. I have worked with young people who have been jailed for drug use and who are in residential treatment facilities. It is a HUGE problem and it affects other parts of their lives as well, too much to get into here. Anyone who smokes pot and wants to continue to do so will not be persuaded by my opinion. If you saw the young lives ruined by MJ and worked with kids everyday, you might change your mind. +++ In before the lock.1 point
