  2. My wife went out of town for mother's day. I got the gift of staying home and playing in my audio sandbox. Here is a picture of the sun room with the Outlaw Audio RR2150 I just got from dloc13. Kind of over kill for the horns but the little yellow speakers love the power.

  11. Thanks Man ... it’s been a long road thus far. Some here may understand, others won’t. The road hasn’t just been long, it’s been lonely -- ever been surrounded by people yet feel alone? That’s my life. Don’t get me wrong, it all hasn’t been bad--i’ve done some cool things and met some great people; but, when the spotlights not on you, it would be nice to be happy. I’ve faked it long enough. I’m halfway there. a friend that knows me kinda well told me (about me leaving) “you know that wherever you go -- you’ll still be there.” That stung at first; but, i get it -- i have to make peace with myself. I want to do that--not so much for me; but, there is a certain someone that deserves a better me than the me of today. Not that I’m a bad guy--just that happiness has eluded me and i know now that it’s somewhere inside of me--it’s gotta be. I’ll be alright. It’s been a crazy ride at times -- no logical reason why i should still be alive; but, here I am and there is a reason for it. So, while I'm living a life of gratitude, i’m hoping that someday my purpose will be revealed and that happiness will be a part of it. No more Grimaldi the Clown. It’s time to heal man--i hope it doesn’t take long (I’m impatient), who knows, i may end up even crazier than i am now -- if so, I’ll come back to the forum with more stories. I’m rather excited.

  12. Not really good to use diesel, but anything with glyphosate works better. Diesel can soak into the ground and kill or hurt any other plants or tree roots under the ground and doesn't last very long for surface weeds. It's ok to spray diesel on treated fence boards if not painted and what drips off can help with weeds along a fence if there are no plant or tree roots in the ground there. Roundup's active ingredient is glyphosate, but the best/cheaper way to buy it is with off brands like the brands at feed stores, like Hi-yield brand of any other off brand with the same chemical, (not paying for a brand name) buy the concentrate not pre mixed which is a ripoff. The only thing is don't spray yourself, (not great for you) you can spray the leaf of any plant you want to kill even if it's right on the side of a plant you want to keep. It's Systemic, it's absorbed through the leaf and kills even the roots, what it really does is starves the weed by no allowing photosynthesis, only killing the weed/plant you spray it on.

  13. ............Not my buddy. Friends don't let friends run 2 wpc amps............ Your darn tootin' it did not have enough power for my preference..........an understatement. You guys enjoy proving it'll get the job done. Love this thread. Everyone who spent the big bucks on nice power amps like the big McIntosh..........they all have no idea what they are doing and it will sound no better than the guys with the 2 wpc or the big 7 wpc.

  17. I like the outlaw. It allowed me to remove the tuner and phono pre to clear some space. It also has plenty of power to bring the yellow Mar and Daniel speakers to life.

  18. There was an Olive music server and a tuner. The Outlaw has its own tuner, so I took that out and the server hard drive crashed.

  22. The interview went well, but I didn't get the job. I did get a call that, even though I didn't get the job, they were very impressed with me and to be sure and watch their site to see if there is something else I may be interested in. Also, if anything comes up, they will be sure and contact me. They thought I would be a great fit and bring new and fresh ideas to the company. Oh well, it is what it is. Life goes on.

  27. Hello everyone. I have been enjoying my RF-82ii, RC-52, RB-51, SW-115 system for nearly 5 years now. This system sounded better than anything I had ever heard so I have been very pleased with it. I especially enjoy women's vocals and a brighter sound. I got a wild hair from boredom 1 1/2 months ago and looked on the local Craigslist for "klipsch". To my great surprise an ad for some vintage klipschorns popped up. They looked to be in gorgeous condition with a cane grille set. I live in a rural area and was very surprised to see it. I couldn't believe the price of $1800 or the fact they were still posted available after 17days. After talking to the owner i was disheartened to find out I couldn't listen to them or pick them up for a week due to him being out of town. I went into a frenzy once I learned they were available. Immediately started hitting this forum and learning more knowledge of the legendary PWK history.

  29. Two days, I would be worn out, I hate weed wacking, now spraying I have alot of practice with. I do not bend over to pull a weed, it's much easier to walk around every couple of weeks and spray any weeds in the walkways and gardens.

  31. Just wanted share a good experience i had with forum member joeloster. After seeing his ad in the garage sale section we worked out a deal for me to come pickup his cherry RF-63 speakers. After carrying these speakers up his stairs and down mine i can attest that these are some monster speakers! Joe described these speakers well and they are in beautiful shape. I actually like the real wood veneer with the plastic front baffles, i think the future RF-7iii speakers will show well. I was immediately impressed with the sound of these speakers. The mids and highs meet my expectations of flagship speaker. I think the biggest downfall of this speaker is the depth of it. They are in my workout room and for them to fit the best i can not give the adequate space from the wall they need for bass reproduction. I guess i do not have a whole lot to say except that these are well made speakers with a beautiful look and great sound, i am definitely sold on flagship klipsch speakers.

  32. Hi All, Bill in KC here. I'm late to the party. I actually snagged these a couple months back. Was perusing decorator pics for reference today and saw this post. Spooky. Had a buddy in Springfield pick them up and store in his garage. I just made it down this weekend to get them. (And work in a little Trout fishing at "raging" Taneycomo) Dan had the decorators and another set of painted (ugh) standard Heresy cabs. I took both. I am going to start on the decorators this week. They are structurally great but, as you might imagine, need some sandy love. They still have the inspection/serial number labels intact. Should be fun. Off I go!

  34. I totally agree (although I wouldn't really consider plugging a tube in and seeing if it works or not a lot of work). That's precisely why it makes so much sense for me to do the vast majority of work needed (if any IS needed) myself at home. A skilled tech will certainly have more experience, but not necessarily more skill, and likely no greater attention to detail. The main difference I can see is that it will take me a good deal longer to get it all done (depending on said technician's work load.. the guy I took them to week before last said he was backed up for months). I'm pretty busy myself, so I expect it to take some time to make sure everything is done 100% right. How did you know?? lol My wife said she remembers seeing at least two of the speakers that went with this setup in the storage container, so I've got my fingers crossed.. I feel like I saw the turntable somewhere as well. Austin, TX.. I talked to a friend of mine in the recording business and he referred me to a guy who specializes in vintage guitars/amps, so hopefully he will be able to check the 811 output tubes. If not I'll probably end up footing the bill to have them tested at the place that quoted me $50 over the phone.. although I'm not positive that the lady I talked to really knew what I was asking about. I don't want to end up blowing a transformer or anything in the off chance that one of these tubes is bad. As far as my wife goes, she is by far the most intelligent level headed woman I have ever known. Not a day goes by that I don't feel grateful to have her in my life. I have set myself a goal to have the PAS-3 opened up, photographed, and tubes pulled by the end of the day today, have all the tubes from it tested, and barring any issues have it all back together and fired up by the end of the week. Then I'm going to move my attention onto the home brew amp with the VT4C tubes. If all goes as planned hopefully I'll have something hooked up to speakers and making noise within the next two weeks.

  35. The damping may be slightly restricting airflow through the port and if not glued may flutter around some. If it were mine i would trim to avoid any issues. Whether or not Klipsch voids warranty or not is a good question, hopefully you will get an answer from an employee. @Chad @Trey Cannon

  38. I'm all up for reviewing different speakers, different manufactures, describing how they sound and perform. It's what makes us more educated and helps us separate the good from the bad. However..... This is a Klipsch forum and it is paid for with Klipsch dollars. Klipsch is kind enough to let us use this property and even have helped with various users DIY posts along the way. You posted speakers from a manufacture that arrogantly and blatantly rips off a klipsch product and calls it their own. Volti even goes so far as to copy and then patent a driver size with his Jube knockoffs. I wish I was joking.... I own a pair of Jubilees and I'm very happy to know my money went to the inventors, engineers and builders that made them. Now that you know "some" of that history, this is why you may get edgy responses....

  39. Let me answer that for myself. Thanks for the concern; but, no i’m not homeless and i’m not broke. I’ve lived here in this madness longer than i’ve lived anywhere else. The future is a blank canvas, and i’m not sure what picture i will paint. I’ll definitely be off the forum for a while; how long, i don’t know. There is so much that i want to do. The past several years, since my divorce, have been pretty boring. I’m ready to venture back out into the world and start living again--and i sure hope that involves a lot less time on my computer. I got a venture in the works, i got more guitars than i need that should be played, and countless half-written projects to finish. so, i’m fine...thanks for asking. if my travels take me through eastern washington i’ll tip my hat in your honor.

  41. What is your budget? Can you build them yourself? What volume do you like to listen? There are various schematics at various price points and difficulties available, from Deang, Bob Crites, ALK... I use DHA2 crossovers, designed by forum member John Albright. Not sure of Dean's schedule, it would be worth checking. Bob's turnaround time is always quick. Both always polite. ALK is always right and will tell you so. mtc Bruce

  44. You have 2 115s. How much air do you need to move. Considering that you think there is a problem, it is likely the matching of the 37s to the 115s in the crossover region. I'm not sure I would sell the 37s for a pair of Forte IIIs but you would have to decide for yourself. For your system though, if you really wanted to part with the 37s, Forte IIIs would likely sound better, mids, and tighter bass, than the Cornwalls. The mid horn in the Cornwalls is inferior to the Forte and I myself always found the bass a bit tubby. If you want to do some cabinet tweaking, that may be fixable though I still would rather have the newer mid horn. Haven't heard the Forte III but just looking at the design criteria and implementation so this is opinion.
