Hello vinyl spinnin' friends.... Paul, I was enjoying your Kayak plays..............decided this late Saturday afternoon to hang in Music Hall early, and via the Spotify premium app in the new Marantz AVR, searched on the band.... I found MANY albums, but landed on this LIVE concert setting of Royal Bed Bouncer.... Here is the single, up on screen. Kind of a crazy tune , is it about a young prince ???3 points

A shot I found online. Piano Black has a very nice mirror like quality to it.3 points

I'm really digging the RF-7III. Bass from kick drums are surprisingly tight and punchy. The new horn just isn't sharp / bright / fatiguing like the old one could be, just not an issue at all, you can really crank them. Upper midrange is more pronounced on the Fortes which is awesome for blues guitar and female vocals, things like that. At this point I'm liking the RF-7III better for rock especially at decent volumes, at least when there isn't any EQ involved. Just buy both.3 points

Ok. This thread reminds me of what of what my life as a nerdy kid in elementary school used to be like. Only now I'm being harrased by my peers who actually have the same passion as me and that makes it all worthwhile. I'm off to buy some 250 mcm 32 strand 8 gauge oxygen free purple copper nitrogen blanketed suspended foam insulated shielded speaker fiber optic cable. You're all gonna wish you had this after you see the spectrum analyzer graph showing the sine waves at equal spatial differences across a broadened bandwidth. Don't even ask. I'm not giving up my supplier.3 points

Starcastle sounds like they like Yes way more than even I do. @Tigerman Don't always look up the bands but might give them some more listening time!3 points

I do like Wish You were Here slightly better than DSOTM, but The Wall is my favorite. I saw them around 1984 in an indoor dome, and Waters at the Klipsch Music Center, and outdoor amphitheater in 2004. I like all of Gilmoure's solo stuff also, Rattle That Lock left a little to be desired though.3 points

What's the movie? Kung fu Shaw Bros, I hope. Just watched The Boxer from the Temple a couple of days ago. That's a good one.3 points

Man, I am not hip. Thanks for the turning me on. Charlotte? Guess it is not a backward off of the map kind of place. Really never thought so. Quite a lot unlike my home town. Of course, if I consider Florida my home, guess it has been large enough for me, so far. An ever bigger compliment then, dang. Will stick a sock in it now. Cough up sock, btw saw Amboy Dukes early on and then later saw Ted during his Survival period. Both times just astounding bands. Now where is that Cat Scratched album.3 points

He does some nice work as evidenced. As post here and above. almost have to love that black monolith depth and what appears like going on in looking at 2001 movie. Reflections of life.2 points

I feel your pain Brother. My Dad passed away last Tuesday at age 86. He was a musician his entire life and left a collection of recording/audio equipment. Deciding what to do with all of it can be overwhelming and something we'll put off for a while. I encourage you to take your time in disposing of his beloved equipment, if you can, and to keep something of his for yourself to carry forward in your life.2 points

I sure hope people here, other than @Trey Cannon, have personal experiences with these. Not to suggest that Trey’s observations are without merit, just that we expect his opinion to be favorable.2 points

Meddle is my favorite. They reached the top of what they intended. DSOTM forward is just commercial fodder IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

A college friend has asked for suggestions regarding wireless speakers to get her musician husband for Christmas. They use small Bose now; they’re more interested in music than hardware. Anyone have personal experience with these. http://www.klipsch.com/products/the-sixes Are the amps class D? I’ve posted a similar thread in 2-channel. This bundle from Amazon might be just the ticket. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WD88DC/ref=asc_df_B071WD88DC5255865?smid=A13BNE3P7C8THK&tag=nextagmp-20&linkCode=df0&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B071WD88DC&ascsubtag=-87182497759030852732 points

And finally playing the last album of the Kayak collection ( so far ) Hope you are all enjoying this session This album from the 80s is more ballsy and more polished and entering the commercial pop genre Some good tracks like Anne are well performed Artist - Kayak Title - Periscope Life2 points

Still going strong this late hour here in the States.............but, I will check in again in our morning time and see what you will be spinning. I am back in the digital mode with a classic YES CD............90125 which I have not played in a L O N G time! Sounding pretty fine through all the 1965 tube gear and Klipschorns... See you tomorrow!2 points

....Good evening everyone.... Inspired by Steve's playing of the FIRST Starcastle album over in RTM.... I dug out their LAST LP from 1980 and have it playing on the old Dual of the same year via all tube gear and the Klipschorns of course .. Vino poured - ready to relax after a 12 hour work day! Here is the front cover, lots of smiles here ...2 points

I like animals just for the excellent guitar work..it's a under rated album.. sheep is my favorite... and if you listen closely to the song sheep..you will realize that David is playing the bass...and the majority of the guitar work is Roger..except the solos...2 points

75% of them. Saw Roger twice with his band. Once with Nick Mason on drums. Saw David Gilmour. All three shows at the Hollywood Bowl. Sadly, never got to see Mr. Wright or all four together.2 points

Think so. Not a problem. Just cut me a fresh one to vinyl please and thanks! No hurry, will wait for you to vacuum Enjoy the cool...2 points

Turntable porn,,,,,, Picked this up today from Craigslist. Seller was a fun guy that had a setup he inherited from his Dad. He had photos of him with the stuff when he was a kid. Sorta cool. He had one too many Thorens TD 160 turntables so I helped him out and bought this: Mark2 points

if you like it, why not? i’ve only lived in three different states ... four in you count the state of confusion. I joke with you Chuck; but, am envious. I wish i knew a place that i could call “home.” While I’ve only lived in three different states, I’ve moved 20 times plus two periods of being homeless (many years ago).2 points

You need to keep in mind these were quite a bit more expensive than standard Heresies when new. In pristine condition $500 - $600 is still fair but if I was purchasing I would certainly shoot for $500. I picked up a pair that need some paint and don't have the aluminum trim but were solid for $350 they have a ton of output since the use a modded "AA" network and run the components wide open. I use them for front effects speaker and they keep up with the La Scala's not much output below 70Hz.2 points

Really liked at times some second city offerings. Usually saw them through PBS, other. That chrome top Boston place looks way big to fill so. May recall video too. Thanks!2 points

First observable snow of the season; flurries in the air, snow on the Spartan flag and snow on the roof — but then again, I’ll be 69 on Sunday, so that’s to be expected. Time to buy gas for the snowblower. Now did I change the oil in the spring, or do I need to change it now? I’ll solve that mystery as soon as I remember where I put my memory pills.2 points
