  2. Sorry this happened and glad that all are OK. My suggestion is to contact a Klipsch dealer @MetropolisLakeOutfitters comes to mind and get a written statement from them about current replacement models and costs. Explain to Corey what took place and he might be able to provide some paperwork for the insurance folks. Question for the lawyer folk: if I spend X$ in 1980 for new and then in 2018 that X$ is equal to XXX$ (inflation) do I get that to spend for replacement? Depends on policy but in general if I have coverage for replacement cost?

  4. Now it’s time to spring into some jazz fusion @Tigerman would enjoy this Cuban infused prog / jazz fusion sound This album is the only album this artist has released under his own name but has participated over 100 recordings with other artists A highly regarded percussionist - and this primarily instrumental release is simply amazing from start to finish I am very lucky to have this album in my collection The back cover describes the genre as ( see photo ) Artist - Mingo Lewis Title - Flight Never Ending

  7. Yep it's sad to me, I used to make triple layer sandwiches, multiple meats, cheeses, some Italian dressing half a salad on it. Bread isn't bread anymore, it's awful. Have to make cornbread with bacon grease to get the texture right, fatback makes it too salty. We would like to have it without the bacon flavor again but alas.... no crappy cornbread allowed in this southern home! Lays potato chips "Can't Eat Even One" "They" removed all the saturated fat from Crisco...... all baked goods are history.. texture, flakiness...blah! Waking up hurtin' makes me a grouch. More coffee, 14 oz first cup didn't touch it today. Music makes it easy to set that aside. Especially from a quasi ZZ type band!! @WillyBob That Cactus is fun times tunes!!

  9. never been on Facebook, so face book jail is something i know nothing about. Do you need a character reference? I’ll stand with you and show them there are people worse off than you and they should be happy that you joined them and i didn’t.

  12. You mean you get up earlier ? It helps me get and keep moving, Christy is usually the one telling me take a break or come sit down. I do not do well doing nothing, I might be slow and take breaks but I need to have something to do. I go to sleep late, but no matter what time I go to sleep I always sleep 8-9 hours, when I get up there is no going back to sleep and NO naps, on purpose at least. If I have nothing to do I make up something, that's how we ended up with a tiki bar in the yard.

  15. Got some new toys, first pair made in natural cherry. Also got a spare set of lambswool grills with 70th anniversary logos. Listening to Ryan Adams right now, they're warmer than I expected, and drums are very nice.

  17. Ok, got it Paul, and thanks, let me check on Spotify premium and see if Mingo is there. I will listen in full because I have your good word (O: Just ask Mike, he puts up the youTube links and I check them out IN FULL many times.... The concert...........Musical Box tribute? I have photos and HD videos of the show, but am hesitant to post 'publicly' as they did NOT want to have any recording going on during the show. I got brave after the first 45 minutes and the 'Isle Hawks' finished seating everyone !!

  20. @oldtimer I might try it again if I see it packaged that small, I know what I'm substituting is not too good for us. Last week was all about a Nazarene. Beef and then pork all last week, needed a change. Happen to love Nazareth around these parts, almost as much as leftover chicken & dumplings. Thanks for taking care of this LP before I got it Ronnie!

  21. Oh come on Zen, a little misguided humor always helps a thread. I have a 3 or 4 players as well and of course they all aren't Oppo's and never would be, but for the rack in my media room, it does and for the same reasons that I have a McIntosh amp in it instead of some much lessor piece. Everything is relative and I firmly believe that each and every needs to follow their own path. Now if I could just swing that new Marantz or Anthem Pre-Pro, I would feel like a full blown audio fascist,

  22. Well there you go, just put my name down on Ebay and will be in contact with the seller over this week. Now starting to get excited about what my first record will be on them. All roads lead to Neu or the latest Kamasi Washington E.P. (well from the one last year) which are both sonic joys of utter brilliance and incredibly well pressed on vinyl. A special thank you to @DizRotus who shared some thoughts, feelings and recommendations on the Hearsys speakers. In other news, if anyone wants to read up on The Lucky Cloud Soundsystem (the start of this all) https://www.residentadvisor.net/features/3123 there is mention of the sound system and the surround k-horn (see, I am getting the lingo now!) set-up. We attended Fabric (a London night club institution) on Sunday and once heralded to having the best sound system in the UK designed by Martin Audio, whilst it was loud and has a lot of bottom end - the clarity and middle section of records are hidden by the stronger drum sections. Both my girlfriend and I were sadly not impressed. Will post back soon xxx

  24. One can build a better system now for 500.00 than ever before...but NOT from these places! I can put a system together for that or less from Parts Express ALONE that will run circles around that same money even a decade ago. Oppo players at 350.00 or so were truly audiophile and well worth the money. The later ones are incrementally better but exponentially higher. No reason not to have these in their line, but they should have kept their Impala along with their Cadillac. Dave

  25. Crisco is fake lard. Same as margarine to butter. Just use lard. and it is better for you than crisco Happy to start yer day right. I get up hurting. I know I'm still alive. Some days, I feel so alive that I can barely move.

  26. You know, maybe it's as simple as the owners had made enough money, they were tired of dealing with the manufacturing headaches and just felt it was time to hang it up. Maybe has absolutely nothing to do with cultural changes, politics, etc, etc, etc, that you all seem to know so much about. Who cares why? It is what it is.

  34. Apparently, my horse died. Got a text from a lady friend in Nebraska that was housing her for me. I guess the little guy freaked out and busted out of the stall and got lost in the brutal winter. I think my friend is avoiding me as she knows that I have a lot of questions, and all the text said was: Oh, they say she died one winter when there came a killing frost and the pony he named Wildfire busted down her stall In a blizzard she was lost Tip a cup of Joe for little Wildfire ... she was a good horse.

  43. Contrary to what the uninformed fella in another thread thinks (bangs-head smiley), I won't waste time there. Records reproduce better sound than cds unless they're scratched up & abused or played on a sub-par rig. Not bad for `73...
