  2. Not much on showing "what I got" but thought some of you old school bike guys might remember these baby's - just brought out of a deep sleep - -2002 Kawi ZRX1200R fancied up a bit. 4. I always did like the last picture. Put electronics on a table, while a LF is looking at an LP with the speakers pointing away from the listening position and in the way, I never bothered to connect anything with pesky wires or cables while I have a drink, It just looks better like this. Although the way he is staring he's not looking to listen to music, but probably thinking, this is going to work after all. And she is thinking, if this clown just staged this to impress me and I can't even listen to this album he is out of luck today, what kind of bs is this.

  5. That’s great IMO considering 1978 models. I have a special fondness for Zebrawood as you can see😄 Solid Zebrawood Front Panels on my Jubs

  15. I've always been a huge fan of The Cranberries. Delores O'Riordan had a phenomenal voice and great lyrics, I will miss her very much. R.I.P.

  16. I might smoke a cigar 3 or 4 times a year. Sometimes less than that. Normally I can do about a half a cigar then have to put it our as I start to get dizzy. Lol. We made a couple stops last night and after the last stop I told her she needed to drive home. She had been jonesin to drive the M2 anyways.

  20. One of the biggest draws to a tube amp is the ability to customize the sound to the end users taste by cap upgrades, tube changes or perhaps power supply swaps within a circuit s design. Of course this isn't the most cost effective way to make a change in sound, but it does change the sound. I don't love the fact that I choose to buy a consumable (tubes) to try and capture a sound, but finding a great combination of tubes is very satisfying... and the trouble is, the exact same tube made at roughly the same period by the same manufacturer can sound different. I think we've broached the subject of whether or not we are listening to music or if we are in fact listening to equipment... I think it's a bit of both for me personally. I am so impressed with the performance of certain systems that it's almost impossible to not be a bit of an "equipment listener". If folks listen to some proponents, it's more important to save money (lowest common denominator) and be satisfied with an acceptable level of performance than it is to seek the depth of the "rabbit hole".

  21. Jeff Matthews, "Deaf Warmed Over" -now that's funny! Made my afternoon-although the bar is relatively low having had my big toenail removed this morning. But as Kurt Vonnegut would say, "So it goes."

  22. I've a great LD player with S-video out and a 5 CD changer in the table as well. No room for it in there at the moment. Need to digitize all my LDs at some point. Dave

  23. That wasn't what I was talking about. Others that talk s... Because I decided to try out speakers I felt were probably too large but I was hoping I could make it work. There have been plenty of comments and PMs to go along with that BS....

  27. Variety of reasons. I have some metal, Dolby C, cassettes that sound as good as anything digital today. I also have some tapes, notably of my grandmother, of family history. One of them is my grandmother singing hillbilly folk songs that are probably unique as she was born in 1889. My mother and her sisters sitting around a campfire at my Cossatot River property singing hymns and other songs in the 70s. Others as well. I have recordings in all media including Edison cylinders. Latest and greatest isn't my interest...it's the MUSIC and the history. Dave

  30. Yeah. Stereo pre-recorded 1/4" TAPE was being sold in the late 1950s, including RCA's "New Orthophonic Stereophonic tapes" Martin Mayer, in the 1958 version of his Hi -Fi book [a classic -- the Floyd Toole of it's day] said that London records had demonstrated the stereo Lp record, but it didn't make it to San Francisco until the Hi Fi fair of January 1959, when my high school buddies and I were there to meet it... Characteristically, PWK experimented with the new medium, three channel version, publishing his first of several articles on it just about the time the stereo Lp arrived.

  31. All amplifiers apply their own brand of coloring. I have yet to hear a solid-state amp who's coloring is more musical to my ears than that of a good tube amp.

  38. Congrats to GiaBob! Another warm one here Gents. Drove the Bubble home from LF's place this morning.....put the top up and did a clean up. I use 303 cleaner for the top, seals, and trim and follow with their protectant. Seems to be doing it's job. Done by 8:30 am and already sopping wet😓 LF is playing tennis in this heat.....yikes! So what's up with you guys? Hugging the AC?

  39. Ahh. Well, I was going to wait until I had a chance to clean up my office tomorrow...but oh well. Since I'm getting rid of the old receiver, I'm gonna find a different place to put my computer, center my desk on the wall, and properly place The Sixes.

  40. CEC and Don thanks for the compliments. The back is removable and I will have two additional screws though the back into the horizontal brace. Didn't consider the window pane brace because there is very little connection room on the front inside baffle because of the closeness of the woofer and mid horn. Also the mid driver is in the way. You can see the woofer pencil line and the mid horn are very close in the middle horizontally. Lot easier to do on a Cornwall. I'm sure that there is a better way but I wanted to make sure I could remove/install woofer. Should add some good stability front to back. The back is so thin that it vibrates a lot. Thanks for the inquiry. Here is the latest pic after applying one coat shellac and one coat gloss wipe on poly yesterday. I'm tinkering with an idea using a K-77D horn front with an bolt to screw on adapter connected to an EV 2005 screw on tweeter driver. It will fit in a Heresy if the tweeter hole is widened by 3/16" each way. Inserts from the back side. Driver is sweet sounding. May not use on this set for could in the future.
