I think the original audience was not an experienced audio site such as this. Most likely, it would have been too young to know what a cassette is. Of course the pre-digital generations get it. Therefore, fwiw, which is very little, make it seven.5 points

Just do that if you're looking for LaScalas. So they won't be Anniversary Editions, you'll still love them and I'd much rather buy from @MetropolisLakeOutfitters. It will take a major life circumstance for to ever part with mine. I would like that grille cloth used on those speakers but the walnut is gorgeous.3 points

Whoa!!! The official "okie-dokie" speaks volumes! Just call Cory Harrison and he'll hook ya right up! NOW we can truly discuss the "odds!" Well, maybe! 😂3 points

No doubt they will arrive with some damage, and then we will hear about it for weeks on end, and of course they will be accepted with the damage, as has already been admitted previously, and then a mind blowingly long negotiation will follow, which again will be documented ad nauseum, and the seller will finally decide to give up and cave to the buyer's demands for an enormous discount which then will be flaunted here with great gusto. What fun.3 points

The over/under isn't what scares me. It's the fact I can't wait to hear what Emile has decided to do! Cave or Man-up and forget about the vino and lobster and start dining by himself and eating #3 McValue Meals! 😂😂😂😂😎3 points

Just for the record, we did have beer and chairs, we just didn't use them! And I wasn't the only "good dude" in the room! You're 95% there, glad I could help you get past the last hurdle. You're splits are going to be very nice. Can't help but want to help a guy building splits that he plans to lend to friends for parties! You should mount a go pro on them and record the reaction on the faces of people hearing La Scalas for the first time.2 points

So Emile, what's your take on the LS 2's with sub on? Do you know what sub he's using?2 points
-
ClaudeJ1, I agree about the marketing bs. It's an excuse to drive up the price for no real tangible benefit, except aesthetics. I would never pay a $2K premium each for the 70th version, BUT, if you can get the Anniversary edition for less than the cost of a regular edition pair, why not? Winner, winner, chicken dinner !! Or, you'll have money left over to down some of that expensive wine Emile is drinking.2 points

Yeah Love my KPT-904's, but was looking at the "big sale" on the LS2's But like my horn on the 904's ... therefore looking for the "ultimate" horn the K-402 Jubilee horn, Yes, my friend has a good sub, but I "just" wanted to hear the LS2's so we turned if off. Cheers, Emile2 points
-
Emile, you crack me up. I just read about your 904 cabinet make over and already your out looking at the LS 2's. So, did your friend have a sub hooked up to the LS 2's? That's the knock on them, right? Bottom end is lacking? I've heard only match a horn sub with all horn Klipsch. Does this hold true? Also, anyone have experience with BK Electronics out of England? Supposed to be great sub at the price point2 points

Klipschorns are celebrating a 70th anniversary. LaScalas have not been around that long! It's marketing BS.2 points

Well ... wasn't looking forward to eating BigMac's and having to live in the "other side" of the house, but if the sound is worth it I could do it OK, heard them before but wanted to be sure. So; went to visit a friend (100 mi roundtrip) to check out his LS II's (w/ Oppo player and Mac MC275's). Very impressed with the awesome very clear and defined bass sound; also liked the mid/high range. Got back home and fired up my KPT-904's (w/ a cheaper Oppo and a cheaper Marantz) ... bass digs a little bit deeper, but not as "refined." But the 510 horns (with 3" B&C drivers) made the decision for me. Sorry, but IMHO much better than the LS's. Know I'll hear about that So, decided NOT to get them Probably will regret it when the sale is over but meanwhile I'll continue to drink good wine instead of "two buck chuck." Cheers, Emile PS, Played the same music on both ... Beethoven's 9th, Tchaikovsky 1st violin concerto, Pavarotti, Genesis, Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Pink Floyd and Cream PS2, Even got my wife to say "OK; if you really want them, get them ...." Add-on ... think I have decided to get some Jubilees ... if I can ever find them2 points

105`. 111` in Tucson Thurs. Humidity is "up". 25% - 30%. Not cooling off at night. Was 80` yesterday AM for a low. Mind you, we are at 4000ft elevation The kiddie pool gettin' some use. At 9PM, I was sitting in it... smoking my pipe and watching the sky. Seeing some lightning to the south. Way to the south. Can't see the clouds, just the flash from the bolts. someone must have gotten hurt fighting the fire. Saw a medivac heli with a litter on the side, coming out yesterday afternoon. Drinking the last of this bag of Mexican beans ... A bag of Ugandan on deck.2 points

All I know is that Pete Mote got his and maybe more followers have as well. The trials and tribulations that he went through only help us to figure out if this is worth it or not. Thank you Pete and others that make us aware of amazing deals. "If it's too good to be true......" But I gotta say, this seems legit. Every once in a while a killer deal comes along and timing is everything. I don't mind the flaunting. He didn't run anyone's nose in it. He laid out how to get the deal done for yourself. Thanks for that and keep it coming.2 points

That’s a great album. I also own that album. I’ve always liked Dan Fogelberg. I think he was an amazing writer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

No offense to any here, but AVRs and dedicated quality integrated stereo amps and separates are Def different animals. Both certainly serve a purpose. Nice looking marantz BTW....2 points

that where the "shake or stir?" comes from. "bruising" [from my understanding ... I'm not a drinker] means the vodka turns milky in appearance honestly, isn't a martini a polite way of drinking gin or vodka straight up?2 points

It's really very simple. Music is subjective no matter how well or badly mastered. The ultimate reason I favor vinyl over zero and ones is that I have cried many times in wonder, joy, ecstasy and passion delivered by the music on a record, but never once while listening to a cd.1 point

Thank you. It was reported that the shooter didn't have any problem walking into a gun store and buying a high-capacity magazine. That's one thing I'd like to see controlled.1 point
