She didn't look quite that good when I met her. That looks like a 70s pic. I actually stopped and got to talk to her for three or four when we both lived near the northern causeway on beachside Daytona in the early 90s. She lived somewhere in the Rockefeller area of the island, I was in Ormond. On my bicycle I caught her in a good mood and told her she should have been the bionic woman. Pleasant, I was polite she was appreciative. She was gone within the decade. Only other super babe I ran into I swear she checked me out in my Silverado northbound 95 above Jax `round midnight. Yea I know, but I always traveled back & forth at night back then. She was in her Rolls and God Knows it was Markie Post!!5 points

I had hand-me-down everything growing up, from clothes to bicycles. With 4 siblings, a "homemaker" Mom, and only my Dad working, that was the norm. I never needed anything and had a great childhood, but I wanted lots of things. We had a Western Auto store (remember those?) in my home town and their bicycle display had about 3 bikes. The same three bikes for YEARS. Whenever my Dad and I went there, I would eye up one of those bikes. I wanted it badly. One day my Dad and I went there and I went right over to the bike. He came walking over and said, "You think you could ride that all the way home?" "Huh?" "Do you think you could ride that bike all the way home?" "Yes." "Well, get on it and go." "What?" "Get on the bike and ride it home. I'll be along in a bit." I searched his eyes to see if he was serious and he was. I was grinning from ear to ear as I walked that bike out of that store. Didn't even stop at the register. The lady behind it smiled back at me. I got on it and rode it home. We lived on a really low traffic road, and I passed a tractor on the way, but no other vehicles for the 1.5 mile distance. I looked behind me and there was Dad in his truck, keeping pace. That day was the best. I rode the heck out of that bicycle for years.5 points

Well, the wood guy called this morning to see if he could come by around 1. He brought another cord with 75% being Oak and the rest Hickory for smoking, he threw in some Cherry branches for me to try on the smoker. After I use up the pile from last year that's not in the picture I plan to move the Hickory to keep it separate just for the smoker. Were set for wood until next year, really nice guy and a great price, total $300 for all this wood delivered and stacked plus a $20 tip. I did help stack4 points

I feel sorry for the people who don't come here because it's not serious enough, it's sad to have to be serious all the time.4 points

Trekking through the woods and along the railroad tracks/trestle like in "Stand By Me". Building forts, playing army/war in the pine forests of Georgia. Riding "mountain bikes" along the power lines before they were called mountain bikes(late 70's, early 80's). Pickup football and baseball games. "Rafting" down the creek(storm runoff). Not a real care in the world or fear. Bill4 points

Cherry Smoked Bacon is the best new to me thing I've tried in the past couple of years. Hickory Smoked my whole life and had the Applewood smoked several times, but that cherry..... man we had breakfast for dinner every other night when we opened the first package we tried!! Try that with some pork @dtel and yes it sweetens it a little. I don't mind cleaning the iron skillet after this stuff!3 points

Agreed. It seems all the serious stuff it what makes your hair fall out and hi-jack your mind while you should be having fun and smiling. My Friday is trying to do it to me now and probably will for the next week or so.3 points

I have listened to many of their newest line arrays at concert performances. The bands sound really good. Their goal is full, even coverage for the entire large audience. Much more technology than most audio enthusiasts would need at home. I decided the Blue horn does not match my decor, so I'm keeping the cheap horns and painted them copper, to go with my cherry stained Zebrawood.3 points

I wonder if the 17 folks who bought the tapes ever found out they were made by a 380 pound Sumo wrestler who "geared" up by eating at Taco Bell? Oh well........many years ago.3 points

Agree. A turkey is a very POOR vessel to cook stuffing in. Why complicate the issue? Slice an apple, throw a couple of sprigs of thyme in there with some salt and pepper. Truss the legs with some gold plated speaker wire, and you're good to go.3 points

I picked them up this morning. I had talked with him a while ago about these and he got busy. Joe could not have been nicer. He bought them assembled from Crites, some slight damage in one of the seams, but repaired after consulting with Bob C. I played them a little and we loaded them up, he had me back up on his lawn to the front porch to load them. The came with new smoked glass tops and grills with Klipsch grill fabric on them. He called me the day before to tell me he found a second set of grill frames that he ordered in cases he wanted a different fabric, he threw those in too. He had them posted on CL, so he saved the ebay fees and I got for less than the BIN price. Good day, now I just need to get them in the house and find some room. I'd call it a good day.2 points

I believe the replacement would be the K77-D. I've swapped between the stock K77-D and CT120s on my LSII's at least 20 times and keep coming back to stock. On paper, the CT120 looks better and can handle more power, but the K77 integrates better as a whole with the crossover and squawker in the LSII. For example, above about 8khz, the CT120 gets very hot on the LSII, by as much as +4-5db at 10khz vs the K77. Even after eq'ing this out, the K77 is a better match with the crossover and other horns in the LSii IMHO. Although if you keep listening at 116SPL at your MLP, you might need the stronger top end of the CT120 sooner than you think 😉2 points
