  2. Look what I stumbled across while in the “library." This is my old car (avatar). There have been some changes in the decades since I sold it, but that is the car I built. The slightly offset reverse scoop on the louvered bonnet (hood), seats, seat belts, rocker switch on the transmission tunnel to activate brake lights, wheels, NACA ducts, you get the idea. http://www.jorgediaz.com/web/super_7.htm No flames or counterfeit Lotus badges when I owned it. I suspect the Buick 3.5 L aluminum V8 has been replaced by a four banger. @CECAA850

  4. Took this short video today in the surf zone and put it up on Youtube. Headphones if you got em. A nice natural surround sound. On a side note, it appears that this site bumps the resolution down to 480p. click on the little cog and put it back up to 720p for better pic and sound.

  8. I guess he came a long way since a few years ago when he didn't know zip about designing and was asking questions here trying to figure out how to put things together. With the help of a few he had something to add to his woodworking which was always nice. Good thing for a few who helped him and designed some horns, if not he would still be reshaping and veneering Klipsch designs. The whole thing is kind of odd to see happen and then to watch people who didn't know how it all started expound the virtues of his stuff. Unbelievable really

  9. i just went and picked up some BBQ ... haven’t had it in a minute and got a craving. Sorry the place said it’s Texas BBQ not NC. I was wearing my Raiders shirt and of course the guy working there was a Bronco fan. I told him i’d save my Bronco comments until AFTER i got my food. But, this lady sitting at a table was giving me the “thumbs up” and then asked where i got my shirt from. I will have a cocktail or three today since it’s my birthday. got a ton of texts; but, spending the day at home. Got a bottle of good Tequila and a lot of music ... one of the these days, i’ll unpack a guitar and make some new music ... but, not today. too many items in the way of the walk in closet where they’re stored ... guess i didn’t understand that a walk in closet is supposed to be able to be walked into. The things that single guys can get away with! Enjoy your day ... sorry about the humidity ... I got 90 degrees out here; but, it’s definitely not the oppressive type like you’re getting.

  10. I never heard of out-of-State parole officers.😉 Too bad you can’t join us. I’m looking at Panera (St. Louis Bread Co. to you) as a catering source. It’s coming down to Panera or Jersey Mike’s. Any preferences anyone? They’re both good, but I’m doing a several thousand dollar job at a soon to be opened Panera, so I feel a sense of obligation to Panera. On the other hand, I’d get enough points at Jersey Mike’s for a car.

  12. I'm not on the road much at all any more. I might drive the Olds around town [Arivaca] once a week. Just to charge the battery. Go to the dump and cruise by the coffee shop/roaster That cross country run, last year, was a rush. Going from driving a car once in a while to biting off 2000 mile each way. And trying to NOT do it in 30 hrs.Spose I could have slowed myself down by employing a bell hop's assistance with my "luggage" and setting the stereo up in the room. HaHaHa

  13. you would love Atlanta.80mph in the rain. Never again. After much consideration I think I have decided what I want to do for a sub. Passive tapped horn. I am assuming some things. Matching efficiency/sensitivity is the big deal to coupling it/them to the LS, yes? I expect it will be out of my price range. And may not fit in this room. It's only 300 sq/ft and long/narrow. 12 X 25ft. I have the speakers on the long wall about 12 feet apart. better keep saving. And spend for it before the wife retires. My SSI goes into the "Oh crap!!!" account. When things happen, that account gets tapped.

  14. I'm happy for you too bud! Won't forget we had those exact same issues with that title pressed by fri music. It would be nice to have mine on lp again but the disc I have is pretty darn good for this Yes fan. Discogs has that in NM condition "complete" for $54 shipped from my country. Not for me today though.

  16. I have no idea, Orlando is crazy, we used navigation on the phone, traffic was so bad if you don't know the area your in trouble. People in Florida drive like they are crazy, I have never seen so many people cross 3-4 lanes on the interstate to get of an exit all in one quick move, you can pas a policeman at 80 mph and they don't even look at you. The first one was 2 days at Marriott's Royal Palms. Then in Palm Beach for 5 days at the Marriott Ocean Point. And one night (last night) at Marriott Grande Vista. We went to spray paint 4 speakers and hang 2 and help him drain his pool, for this he got us rooms at some nice places, we did not pay for these rooms. We would normally go cheaper than that. But he has something to do with Marriott so we went, really nice places. Yesterday evening it was raining, so we put on bathing suits and went to the bar by the pool and had some drinks, ate and got in the hot tub then pool. We were the only ones there because of weather and the bartender was happy we didn't care about the weather and drug out happy hour longer. The draft Yuengling could not have been colder. Really glad to be home.

  19. The time between the notes relates the color to the scenes A constant vogue of triumphs dislocate man, it seems And space between the focus shape ascend knowledge of love As song and chance develop time, lost social temp'rance rules above Ah, ah Then according to the man who showed his outstretched arm to space He turned around and pointed, revealing all the human race I shook my head and smiled a whisper, knowing all about the place On the hill we viewed the silence of the valley Called to witness cycles only of the past And we reach all this with movements in between the said remark Close to the edge, down by the river Down at the end, round by the corner Seasons will pass you by Now that it's all over and done Called to the seed, right to the sun Now that you find, now that you're whole Seasons will pass you by I get up, I get down I get up, I get down I get up, I get down I get up

  21. Sensitivity isn't really that important. What is important is having a sub that will keep up in output and that will go cleanly up to the point that it's crossed over to the Lascala.

  25. With those nice LaScalas yep you'd better get that kind of a sub built, good choice. I can get away with my mass produced good one only because I missed out on the folded horn Klipsch a while back... my back appreciates that though!

  26. As is often the case, the project to get a Technics turntable back into service was more complicated, and took longer, than expected. After the motor failed to operate properly, I had to go to my Tecnics scrapyard and take the motor from a “parts” machine. Then the cables needed to be resoldered. After several hours I was able to use Carl’s Ortofon cartridge and Billy Bob’s phono preamp to play vinyl. @CECAA850 @billybob

  27. That's off of International Drive, towards town from DD nice digs! Killer perks! It took me a year or so to find out that it wasn't the Floridians that drove like that @dtel it was the people from overseas visiting, renting the Cadillacs and such. Going towards Disney there once I saw one mini-van veer four over in front of a tour bus with Brazilians (when the world cup was there) to get off at IDrive. I was stuck for a while cause the stupids in front of me had to rubberneck and would not move around the debris. They drive the same here in my sanctuary town, seems they have a particularly hard time staying on the right side of the road. It's freakin scary out there. Can't turn off the anti-collide stuff on the `16 Honda it wobbles the wheel every time one of em barrels towards me on my side. Like those 362s you pictured, they look formidable.

  31. A good friend just got a pair of Klipschorns from (what appears to be) 1955. Pretty cool looking wood K-5-G Squawker. I searched for the K-5-G and older Klipschorns in general. Some good info. These will need new grill cloth. Appears he will be able to get pretty close on that. Interested in comments from others who have Klipschorns from the 1950s. Did you update or restore to original? Appreciate any comments and feedback? Thank you.

  35. All I know is that the upgrades sound "nice" but 99% is the the choice of new 2" mid driver and the tweeter chosen. I am not sure who all helped Greg, but the only one that helped me was the guy in Dallas whose wife told him he had to sell off some of his collecting when they moved. I got a great deal, so I jumped on it. I still stand by my answer earlier of "get the Jubes". I knew it would only be a matter of time until this thread went south, seen it before. I can tell @dtel feels strongly about this and he is usually the voice of reason around here and stays calm when others are blowing up all around him. I tend to believe him.

  37. Spent a lil time this afternoon doin the cable thing. I've been using BJC inter-connects all along and have had a pair of their 12 white cables w/the locking banana plugs laying here for a couple months so figured it was time. That's about as esoteric as I'm ever going to get w/cables and so far things sound cleaner from my LS. Nope, not debating just wanted ya'll to know I WAS being productive! Just chillin and listening..

  41. It is a convex elliptical shape. The tractix type when tested on the smaller lens did well but not as good as the elliptical so I did not make any tractix type for the K-79 assuming the same would hold true there.
