  3. Enjoy Mike, like I said things you do will reap re-percussions . And those two lps have some wild percussion. Some of it like that first track and there was one other I kinda like. Papaw @Full Range and I thought of you when faced with the astronomical pricing on the only two options between me and him. Since I could not fully enjoy it... somebody should!! When you get your TT set up again you'll find out how great the condition & sound is on those 50 year old platters! Or maybe get Gia's rig set to go and push it through that little tube box!

  6. Pfff. The mental wrath of home schooling a 6 year old and trying to keep him away from Ipad is worse. Teachers and obviously all health care workers are shamefully overlooked these days, hopefully that will change after this. Hair people too! Im damn close to going full GI Joe soon with my Dog clippers.

  7. Also you can sit on your porch during a lightning storm and suck up some ozone. Try to avoid the actually lightning even if it is a surefire way to kill any virus.

  8. Now I"m thinking about making one. This is soooo NOT good cause I'll have to do kitchen work then grill work for just me. Guess I could share some w/the oldest daughter. Maybe w/some ground bratwurst in lieu of the sausage. That could be interesting. Hmmmm...

  9. Guess we're all already in Olivia's fever. The name "Olivia" was created by Shakespeare in his play "What You Will". Biblical: The olive tree is a symbol of fertility, beauty and dignity. Today, "extending an olive branch" traditionally means an offer of peace. Olivia also means "elven army" or "army of elves".

  10. Olivia is such a great name! KNOW you're all happy! NOW we can all sit back the next few years and listen to all of your "corruption" stories. Candy, cake, ice cream, zoo's, wagon rides while you're out on walkabout. Should be interesting. Gonna start her with some classical or just cut to the chase with some Crimson and Zappa? 😂

  12. A guy and his girlfriend were setting on the porch. The guy was trying to stir up some good conversation, and asked his girlfriend to tell him something that would make him happy and sad at the same time. She thought about it for a minute, and then said, Out of all of your friends you have the biggest pecker!

  13. Even though I believe that we will still be spinning vinyl in the future I can’t predict what a grandchild will take in My best option is to play records while she is watching and listening so it forms lasting impressions

  18. Stewie, you are probably a purest, but I add a splash of Worcestershire sauce in my ketchup before I put it on the meatloaf. Seems to make it a little more sophisticated, like me.

  19. oh come on ... Bat Outta Hell is a great album. Although most credit should go to Jim Steinman who wrote those songs.

  20. I make smoked venison meatloaf fairly often. My wife even loves it, and she doesn't care for venison. Ground venison is so lean that I mix it with around 25% ground pork so it doesn't dry out on the smoker. Actually, we just had it for dinner yesterday.

  21. I recently inherited some vintage components (see image) that I'd like to set up with a pair of K-horns. My understanding is that either of those amps would be fine but my question is can I use both the MC240 and the pair if MC30s to possibly bi-amp the K-horns. Maybe active crossovers? The question might be why and the answer is just to utilize them both just for the aesthetic *coolness factor*. The more glow the better. Any and all insights would be appreciated.

  22. Lurker chiming in as I received a pair of b-stock SE’s Today from Crutchfield for a price I’m very happy with. Turns out it’s b-stock due to an indentation smaller than a dime on a side panel....oh the humanity! Feeding them with a Schiit Gungnir multibit, Freya preamp with NOS GE 6SN7 WGT’s and a ‘79 Technics SL-D3 to a Cambridge CXA80. Having read comments referring to cabinet resonance, brassy highs and mids and missing bass all I can say is “What you talking about Willis?”. I have them at the end of the dining room which feeds straight into the kitchen, probably 14x30 filled with furniture, wall hangings, curtains etc., no bare walled music room here and they’re singing from the get go. They replaced a pair of Scansonic MB-1’s and Hsu sub which I loved with acoustic, piano, vocal and electronic but that setup just didn’t rock. Looking forward to when the Cornwall’s broken in! I got my first real system (not from Radio Shack) while stationed in Germany in the late 70’s through deferred payment at AAFES and as a private didn't come near qualifying for Klipsch Heritage at the time and forty years later after the kids are grown up and gone finally got here. Looking forward to trying my recently serviced Technics SA-700 with them. The Cornwalls are signed by Victor, cheers Vic and thanks.

  23. people who want to feed their hate will turn anything into a food source. There is a lyric that says “Love is the drug ...” well, i guess hate is a drug too and far too many choose to be addicted to it. I really can’t understand why someone would be so obsessed with it. I let drugs ruin my life in many ways, i guess those that are addicted to hate will one day realize that they’ve lost credibility, damaged relationships, and missed out on forming new friendships -- and all for a love of something that will do absolutely nothing to benefit them or anyone else. i actually feel more sorry for them, than whatever it is they hate. To lose control of oneself is something to be pitied. Not a defense a Trump -- didn’t vote for him last time and won’t vote for him this time; but i find it interesting that he is able to reveal the true character of some people. I’ve said it before, i’m more interested in a person’s reaction to an event or another person than i am about the actual event or person. Read a quote a few years ago from this British Psychiatrist that was a pioneer in the treatment of mental illness. Don’t know much about the guy but i found something he said to be pretty revealing: “If people can’t control their own emotions, then they have to start trying to control other people’s behavior." Much better world if we’d all just accept our differences, yet still dig each other -- we still have far more in common with each other. To those of you that really want it ... peace to you.

  25. Turned out great! took right at 3 hours. at about 235 degrees most of the time. Smoke profile was spot on. Very moist! I went a little easy on the spices first time out and im glad I did. I used saltine crackers, so I knew that would add salt anyway. I may add alittle ketchup to the meat next time, but thats about all I will change. If i was better at it I would post pics. You can say it didn't happen without pics and im OK with that. Its the best meatloaf that I never made!

  26. You can use bat meat as long as you mix a little Clorox in with it. It'll kill all the Wuhan in the loaf.

  27. I pulled the mantel off from above the fireplace because it was about as high as I am tall and I hated having the TV so damn high. I have to replace the mantel to mount lower, so I thought it would be worth incorporating the center channel speaker into it. I am interested in seeing how it sounds... I will build a crossover for it this weekend and might even get to start taking measurements. Size reference:

  28. Just bracing above & below the passive/woofer will make a BIG difference in the cabinet rigidity. Here's how I braced mine. (& it was fairly easy)

  31. BigManStew was talking about the singer meatloaf. I think it is fitting that I listen to meatloaf bat out of hell right now. Im not using any bat though. I hear thats not a good idea. As a burned out hippie dude I met in my travels would says, thats some bad boogie!

  32. Congratulations! I just got mine in its final location, and I gotta say, it was worth firing the mouth towards a wall, my response became much more even throughout the room. I can bet your bouncing off the walls listening the day away, well done!

  33. Thats about what I was reading it would take. Im not to worried about the smoking temp as long as it stays above 225 and below 300 or so. I was pulling at 165 like you said. Thanks for all the tips guys.

  35. I believe that it will be the people that determine when things are 'open'. Not State or City leaders. When the majority of the general population feels safe, then I think things will open up.
