  1. I'm restoring my 1962 Triumph 350cc motorcycle. Needed a piston barrel because mine would have to be re-sleeved. So I find one with still plenty of life to it on ebay in merry old England. It arrives this week packed in an ancient rusty metal container. The security of the barrel is shored up with sawed up pieces of a wooden bannister and what looks to some ancient wood flooring. Scatter throughout are some very oily pieces of what looks to be paraffin paper. It worked. Everything was fine. I may be wrong, but I'd like to think that that ancient metal box was an ammunition box from the Battle of Britain. it's certainly at least that old.

  7. Time for some amazing Prog again Some say that this album was the pinnacle of this band before the slow breakup Although the artists themselves are divided - based on a documentary I have recently seen So you decide for yourself either to like it or not Artist - Genesis Title - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

  8. oh when I was headed out to pick the wife up, Firefighters camped all over the place. The park was full. The parking lot on the wildlife refuge was full, too. These folk actually camp. Self contained. Fine way to spend the night after bustin' yer butt in a fire all day. They're working the Fresnal Fire about 8 miles from town. I kinda suspect many of them got reassigned from the Bighorn Fire on the mts north of Tucson. That one is winding up. 80% contained... 120,000 acres. had given thought to tagging up with wife's secretary [her alter-ego cheffed several restaurants] and feeding a bunch, using the big/ger kitchen at The Old Schoolhouse/Park.

  16. Here’s yet another poorly written article on mechanical ventilation and covid19. The title is correct, mechanical ventilation was not the ‘fix-it’ cure for covid19. But the authors do not get to the true scope of why. There are 3 elements to respiratory failure in covid19. 1st is covid19 viral pneumonia that in itself is a daunting problem. 2nd is ARDS, adult respiratory distress syndrome, that in addition to a viral pneumonia brings a nearly insurmountable chaos to acute lung troubles. 3rdly are mircoembolisms, or what is term emboli showers where blood clots clog up the circulation in the lungs. All of these occurred simultaneously in acute covid19 illnesses. What is required to achieve adequate respiration is effective alveolar ventilation. You require enough match of ventilation with proper perfusion to clear CO2 and deliver O2. The combination of the 3 conditions above makes getting adequate alveolar ventilation impossible regardless of advanced ventilator modes and care. This is why so many died regardless of using mechanical ventilation and why so many advanced to using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation instead. There was just not enough lung left to work with and the less lung you started with the faster you tanked. The article is worth a read. https://www.fastcompany.com/90526637/ventilators-arent-the-coronavirus-cure-alls-we-originally-thought?partner=rss&utm_campaign=rss+fastcompany&utm_content=rss&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss

  17. There some thing fishy with wiring.....or bad connection. Beg or borrow an old school reciever and test them with that. Check the ohms on the woofers to make sure they are still good.....go loosen and retighten all those screws while your in there you will have to undo the woofer connections anyway.... most likely are but you never know. Did you put in the newer crites crossover??? Those Cornwalls will kick butt with as little as 24 watts.

  20. A sub would not fix what your saying, a Cornwall does not play to the sub range so adding one still leaves what you say is lacking. EQ boost in the amount your talking is not a good idea for when you turn it up, at low volumes it's OK . Find the problem and go from there, half way fixes only fixes it halfway. A Cornwall does not lack bass, unless your expecting crazy bass or deeper bass than it reproduce. I have never heard a Cornwall short on bass. I would bet it's either out of phase, room problems, source setting, sorry equipment which you don't have or over expectations, which I doubt. Those first 3 usually turn out to be the problem in many cases.

  24. Sounds like life is treating you well Amy. Thanks for checking in! So I'm sitting in this bar and a duck waddles in. Jumps up on the bar and says "bartender I'll have a beer". Now the bartender has never had a duck in his bar before so he goes over to his boss and says" Boss, there's a duck at the bar and he wants a beer. What should I do?" His boss says, "He's a duck, he won't know any better, so give him a beer but charge him $25." So the bartender serves the beer, tells him it's $25 and the duck forks it over. Finally the bartender can't resist. He says "' ya know we don't get to many ducks in here." The duck looks him straight in the eye and says "and at these prices you won't be getting many more."

  33. Yes plenty of bass at that level, it's not going to shake the house but solid bass. Also check the laptop, also the source if streaming with a low bit rate can also mess with how it sounds as far as just sounding kind of flat. Also what kind of cable is used from the laptop, (not brand or quality) I) asked because I tried using the 3.5mm headphone output on the laptop and switched to a HDMI out of the laptop and had a much better sound quality. Other different connections could affect it also ? Just ideas from problems I have had with a laptop and streaming with different cables. Nothing wrong with adding a sub, but I would try to get this fixed first, well try out all the free things first. .
