  4. Never had kangaroo. Alligator, Frog legs, quail, buffalo, rattlesnake, deer, elk, ostrich, dove, rabbit ... who knows what else. My brother and I used to get together for Exotic Meat Day. But, you won't catch me eating no Taco Bell.

  8. The chair in the window photo does look like many I’ve seen but it was there so I took the shot. Here’s another window shot but it looks staged even though it wasn’t.

  10. How about smoked crickets for an appetizer? Not that uncommon in Baja. Once you get over realizing the legs are still attached, they are not bad.

  11. Chicken Or did they upgrade the simulator software for Rattler ? Kangaroo and Alligator are definitely not chicken. Haven't made it to snakes and bugs yet....... Can't wait for the roach burgers they want to feed us.

  13. 62 and never owned a TV. Not to say I haven't watched TV just too cheap to purchase one and then pay to use it. I occasionally check out stuff online but not a regular happening. $100+ monthly for something I haven't the time to devote to it is just out of the question.

  14. That's funny. We cut the satellite last week, got hulu+ instead at less than half of what the sat cost. After checking to see if everything we watched was included including live sports we switched. Hulu is a little harder to get around on (still learning) and slightly less convenient but for about $64 and plus still saving that much over sat it's good. Sat had a couple hundred channels we never watched but you had to have to get the few we wanted, they work it like that, well not for me anymore. Picture is just as good, from looks and acording to what resulition the tv say it is gitting.

  17. Grind the beans a good bit more coarse, the screen would let small grinds through and it wouldn't be "good until the last drop" that way! Let it steep like + or - four minutes before you press it slowly and steadily down. That was in instructions for a fragile one that broke on me years ago. *205 degrees is what all the coffee-geek websites say, just shy of a boil. Wanna get more technical, pour water over the grinds slowly in a circular motion when the bubble starts to form in the middle let it sit for a minute before putting the top on the thing. That bubble in the grinds rising like bread in the oven is the bloom.

  18. I would appreciate some feedback comparing the three shots below. There actually was a third wagon 😀

  19. Thanks, I appreciate the input. I did a closer crop and I think it helps but I should have worked on getting some close detail. The camera’s resolution allows for some extreme cropping and here’s a tight crop on some building detail.

  20. That’s right. I still use my Blackberry (yes, Blackberry) for snapshots that I can also use to order pizza but I’m committing to learning to use this Leica Q2 Monochrom that I picked up almost a year ago. It is strictly a B&W camera, 47MP with a fixed 28mm f1.7 lens. Incredible resolution, not having a sensor color filter array. I thought that a fixed focal length would be limiting but I’m finding just the opposite - it’s great not having to carry around a bunch of gear except for a set of filters. I still have many pounds of decent Nikon gear for color and telephoto shots but I’m less inspired to lug around a huge camera bag anymore.

  28. So true. For my tastes and how I like to listen to music, these are by far the best speakers I've ever owned. What's more, my wife is impressed. And, since the best response I've ever gotten out of her with previous equipment upgrades was a grudging, "uh huh...that's nice", that's saying a lot. Maybe someday I will win the lottery and go for bigger and better, but for now I'm happy. In all honesty, I love reading post from so many people so enthusiastic about so many different things. Such fun!

  29. You all are making me feel bad. I just bought a pair of Forte llls a few weeks ago and I'm deep in the infatuation stage just getting to know them better and better and you guys come along telling me the lVs are SOOOOOO much better. I'm also the guy who was traumatized to learn that there were at least 28 flavors of ice cream beyond vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.

  30. mmmmm OK... The new Leica? Oh, the times they are a changin... I was only talking about two wagons I think John. I picked up two Ansel prints matted and framed @ a local auction in a box of junk for 3 bucks. Some old dentist croaked and had a ton of high dollar furniture n stuff. Everyone fought over his eclectic high dollar stuff and no one caught the prints. Small and wound up in a dollar box. hahaha Talk about a STEAL! Pulled the paper off the back and they were certified and signed by him. Hahaha! Gotcha! @sputnik crop on the wagons nailed it and turned it into a great shot. Look at the wagons or the clouds and the grid lines work. Just tight enough, the clouds upper left, down to the wagon then right for the second wagon and upper right for the clear sky. Just wherever the eye starts to truly see it works. I thought you were using that new Leica you got when I saw them. Pretty darn nice but I'm too old to justify going into digital. You know what Nikon gear I have in my bag and my right shoulder is still an inch lower than my left from luggin junk. Think about the detail you would have in the capture had you shot that the first time. Less loss of it when you cropped again. THEN ya got a hanger. @billybob I'm not really qualified to critique his for from a "Professional" stand point but photography is subjective just as anything is. EVERYone sees, reads, loves something different. Just an opinion and you know what they're like. Everyone has one... lol I like the second window shot and to me it doesn't really look staged. Sure it could be but it's on you if you want to stage it. I NEVER staged anything I shot unless it was a grip n grin or the usual shot you had to stage. You can do anything you like when you shoot but others who might follow your work will see it down the road. Competition prints are for the most part staged, shot and re-shot. I was shooting for the News Media crap @ the state AP level. Screw that stuff imo. It is what it is. lol The three shots are nice with the sky but I'd want more detail in the foreground. Only you know if you cropped them. I totally crop everything before I pull the trigger if I'm looking for a keeper. That's on you though. The other two? Quit it my fingers are getting tired from typing. Ok, but you were right in your comment. They need Festus, Miss Kitty, Doc and Marshall Dillon in them before I'll give you a double thumbs up. 😂 Beautiful camera and very nice work. Kudo's. @JL Sargentand a Happy Halloween to you too brother! That's hilarious!!! Classy too! 😂 Where's @ClaudeJ1he's pulled the trigger a couple times. 😂

  31. Mornin' all still no tv. I'm getting a lot of little things done. got an on topic Q... mark this day on the calendar boy gave us a french press. I could use some tips on its use. I know there is a certain amt of science involved. Water temp. Grind of coffee. Length of steep....

  32. I don't see a third wagon ! You mean the one on the right? Looks like @sputnik was just having fun with B&W to these untrained eyes. Since I framed stuff from calendars to get cheap art to hang I think those would give Ansel a run for his $ if he did close-ups instead of scenic.

  34. I spent time with this combination Faital and B&C drivers for Klipschorn. The net was a bit complicated but overall, the sound was quite good and blew away the stock hardware, not even close. The frame was designed to slip into the top of the Klipschorn

  35. I listened again last night with my sub on and the thing I have noticed is that with the ported mod the sound is cleaner. The bass seems less boomy and more real where sound is concerned. It doesn't hit you like at a concert, but it feels like it rounds the sound out in a very nice way. I will mess around some more with tuning after we get back from our trip, but I can say, I'm no longer disappointed that I built this. Its a nice addition to the system at this juncture and I will tune the ports a little more when I get back to see if I can gain just that last little bit that the DATS v3 curves are showing me I can get.

  37. Nobody mentioned Vettes! But here is my C7 Grand Sport at one of my favorite beaches since you mentioned Vettes - I threw out the crappy Bose system an replaced it with a great sounding audio system with an Arc Class D Amp with DSP, Diamond componet Separate Speakers, a JL AUDIO sub. It just adds so much driving enjoyment when I am not listening to the exhaust. A technician from ARC Audio came to my installers shop and dialed the system in with his laptop! Hoooyah
