  2. This one's not like the other ones! Now is the time - was there ever any other? Looking back at all we’ve wasted - one good thing that we’ve discovered It’s time to make up for all you’ve lost - years and friends that you can’t get back These things are gone forever- but memories never die There’s nothing stopping you now- there probably never was You just had to get around - some things - same as it ever was Takes all the strength inside you - just to make it through some days You’ve got to own your scars - turn them into wings Sing what you have to say - sing it like you have no choice Play what you want to play - play it loud with your own voice From the top of the mountain that you climbed Let your song and your spirit fly Like eagles and angels and ancient melodies Let it sanctify your soul-like the first time that you heard rock and roll Sing what you have to say - sing it like you have no choice Play what you want to play - play it loud with your own voice There’s nothing stopping you now- there probably never was You still have to get around - some things - same as it ever was Same as it ever was - same as it ever was Same as it ever was - same as it ever was

  3. I am so bummed I didnt find out earlier that Roy was going to be at Upscale. I would have totally driven up to meet him and hear the Jubes. My brother had Klipschorns, my sister had Forte 1s. my dad had Forte 1s, that I now own, and I have my Forte IVs! I love the Klipsch sound! and.Upscale Audio has amazingly great customer service and everyone I have met there is so passionate about listening to great music on great gear.

  4. Before: After: It was BRUTALLY difficult to veneer the interior sections of the La Scalas without taking them apart. Fully 90% of my time was devoted to dealing with the interior of these guys. I thought it would take about 20 hours to do in total. I estimate that it took about 200 hours all in. If you want to do this, you need to take them apart -- at least the sides. I was too intimidated to attempt it, but in retrospect, it's definitely the way to go. In fact the way to go, if I'm being perfectly honest is to get a side gig, earn $18,000, set aside $5,000 to pay income taxes and then buy new La Scalas. Luckily I like the look of the old ones more than the new ones, but jeez, what a project. I can't say I didn't enjoy it, because I really did. But it was a commitment.

  5. It’s raining here the last 3 days I have a solar hot water system on the roof and it keeps tripping the switch when I turn on the booster - that equals cold showers without hot water Not sure if it’s due for a new element or water is leaking in ? So I called for service and due for this afternoon (if they don’t cancel due to rain)

  10. If you aren’t close to 100% certain of a thing, please don’t give advice. I would also start avoiding some of the “Klipsch” Facebook pages which are now often filled with poor advice and incorrect information. https://speakerrepairshop.nl/en/questions/ferrofluid/c-34#:~:text=Yes%2C applying ferrofluid will increase, ferrofluid and the correct quality.

  15. 😂 All quiet in Duckburg. The first major weekend of Lake Erie's summer season has begun. Prolly 500 bikes heading thru the hood on the way up to Ohio's north coast. Then 500 going South again. It's crazy. Locally, had Crusin w/the Cops, an annual thing now for the old hot rods. Some of those custom jobs they bring in loaded in their semi's are incredible. The businesses contribute and it just keeps growing. Second thing the cops have done right in a while. First thing they did right was set all the lights in the city to caution @ 9PM. Duckburg...

  25. Hi-- Yes, I think your green winding voltage is fine. It's the pins. You can fix the pins, but it might make more sense (knowing what we know now about the pins/molex trouble), to remove the molex header from the PCB and just solder the transformer to the PCB. Yes, that makes it harder to replace, but I don't think I ever replaced a transformer, so low risk of that. If you do replace the spring pins don't rely on the crimp. Solder the pins to the wire. Maybe you can send me a pic of the area around the Molex. I'd like to make sure the blue caps and big cement resistor are ok. And (sorry if you told me already), but have you replaced the bridge rectifier yet? If not, read back through this thread and there is good documentation on what to buy and how to replace it. It is a major weak spot of the unit. They cook, burn and fail at about the 5 year mark. Bad choice of parts on my part. But, it's pretty easy to remedy. The BBX has one more tube than the Peach. Four versus 3. Probably a little higher current in total, but I'm guessing because the rectifiers have failed much more often on BBX than Peach. Keep me posted... Mark

  26. Hey @AndreG., well nm. I was gonna tell ya to "byte me" but figured out you might take offense rather than laff. It's ok though. I get it. @KROCK tells me the same thing. We ALL know how tight he really is now. 😂 😂

  28. @AndreG. first pop version of that rock ballad I've heard. Not bad except for the lack of the good guitar work that was in the original! @Dave1291 Rickie Lee!! haven't heard her in so long I'd forgotten. Thanks! I've had Bob on today... remember being out on a date and at the end of it driving back having one of his come on the radio? Or if it was the night they played whole album sides at a time? Yep that was the Q! The Album Station. There were some quiet spots in the city!

  30. This is now available for a pre-order on Clapton's website. Just picked up 2 for about $25 for delivery mid-July. They got together just prior to Jeff Beck's death and cranked this one out together. Great friends in the Yardbirds from '67 and then Jeff went his own way as did EC. Might want to check this rendition of "I got the same old blues" with EC, Mark Knopfler, Phil Collins on drums and THEE best percussionist on the planet Raymond Cooper. The human metronome. Watch him go! A great watch! SRV w/a lil "Let me love you" from 1989's "In Step" album. Gonna get ya! Hey @KROCK look what I found. Just for you! The ENTIRE "Pieces of Treasure" LP that just arrived! Yea, Rickie Lee Jones is still hangin in there like a rusty fish hook. "The Duchess of Coolville" has got the pipes just like the rest of your harem! Let it ride brother you need a break! Enjoy Hope ya all enjoyed. Great way to throw down that coffee on a rainy Saturday morning here in Duckburg.

  36. Call me a wimp but there's no way I'd want to take the sides off. I'd presume they were built to last (mine are circa 1979 and still going strong enough I'd easily stand on them) With my skillset, if I knocked the sides off, I'd do some other damage as the glue comes apart or maybe a finish nail in there somewhere.... As has been said, you did a fantastic job!!
