  3. Good evening friends, wasn´t here for while as I have seriouse online issues here . The district where I´m living gets a brand new fiberoptic cable net for internet applications. So far there isn´t anyone online here , except the users having a mobile hotspot on their smartphone . That´s my connection I´m using that at the moment to be online . It isn´t that fast and threads take a lot of time to be loaded . Takes a while till all works are finished here . Today I was in the mood to spin some records .... Jimmy Page & Robert Plant " No Quarter " recorded in Marakech and London in 1994, didn´t spun that for a couple of years than Queen II followed by Pink Floyd " Animals " finally Manfred Manns Earth Band " Solar Fire "

  5. How will your stereo gear be disposed of once you're pushing up Daises? Does your significant other have any idea what its worth? Have you written instructions? Has anyone given this a thought? Do you have a relative or friend who would value it as much as you do?

  6. An elderly man owned a large farm for several years and he had a large pond on the far end of his property. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nicely with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond since he hadn't been there for a while. He grabbed a big white bucket to bring back some fruit before starting the long walk to the remote area. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was several young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence, and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"The old man frowned. "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked."Holding the bucket up, he said, "I'm here to feed the crocodile."Some old men can still think fast.

  8. My wife's younger son in the Philippines got a Chow (crazy enough with the heat), and one of the grandsons is only nine. He can love on the dog, use him as a pillow, etc., and the dog just loves it. When we visited last July, my wife just started to reach out to pet him and he jumped at her and scratched the skin while biting her knee. Since there are so many strays in the Phils, right around the corner from the house is a "Dog Bite Clinic". She got a couple shots, a couple weeks apart. I had told her that Chows weren't very safe to have around, but they had already had him a while. I kept trying to pet him, just by letting him rub against my leg when he would walk by. The day before we left. he was letting me pet him. I'll probably have to start over when we go thee for Christmas this year.

Dad: Good girl! 😂 💪 Oldest: I've even got it all on video I'll send it to ya. 😂 Guess I could have told her if ya get a bat in there flyin around she could borrow my old tennis racquet hangin on a nail in the garage. Blah, I'll save it for another day. Gotta have a tennis racketl Carry on

  17. Blah, I'm on strike. Dropped 20# just by staying outta the grocery store. Saw the Doc last week and he said how'd you lose 23 # in 3 months. Told him I got smart and realized I didn't need all the crap in the grocery stores. He laffed and I countered with, "Ya know what? I've known you and your wife my entire life and I've NEVER seen you in any grocery store." He got a laff outta that. Then told me everything looked much better so there's that. My old butt isn't goin anywhere yet.

  18. Absolutely. We have discussed all of these issues at great length. I will gradually liquidate a lot of my toys as I get older, as I don't want to leave a huge mess. Plus, I don't want someone else playing their music on my Jubilee's! 🤣

  19. Thanks Dave. For the amps here, the bottom sections needed refinishing. There's an autobody nearby that will refinish (paint, powder coat) anything made of metal. The paint used here is an acrylic urethane automotive paint (a satin topcoat). After paint is applied, the parts are hung in a benchtop IR oven. Tougher than what a rattle can applied paint provides. The difference between this method and a rattle can approach is the hardness of the paint. Even using a rattle can, an hour or so under the IR improves the durability of the paint. I like the paint shop but I've found another that specializes in small jobs like this and the turnaround is a few days rather than a few weeks. I'll be bringing a set of transformers from a Citation II to them to powder coat in that oddly cool brown color. They match paints using fancy machines and lasers.

  20. Hi, sorry for the late reply. "Solved" above was the "automatic" reply closing the ticket. There is now a firmware update available via NET, but no information yet about what features or bugs are addressed. https://assets.onkyo-av.com/product-firmware/Firmware_Update_TX-NR7100_TX-RZ50_04_23-2024.pdf?v=1713922940 "Minor bug fixes and stability improvements." Not mentioning the bug in the bass management. From an older posting https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/built-in-dirac-live-not-working-with-upmixing-or-other-modes.49594/ In between, there are actual fixes: As confirmed by Onkyo, the actual firmware contains a bug in the bass management. If there is no subwoofer, the bass redirected to the fronts is not DL corrected. Since the fix so far has not made it into into an official update, I am sharing the link to the bass management fix Onkyo sent me. Use at your own risk. https://drive.google.com/file/d/18HbnGjpK1AS4oWlEeUzIvCDvrey-pmJ7/view?usp=drive_web Please follow the steps below: Preparation: Unzip the file and save all its contents to the root folder of a USB drive. Note: If there are other files on the USB drive, please delete them. Insert the USB drive into the USB port of the TX-NR7100. Procedure: 1. Press the ON/STANDBY button to power on the TX-NR7100. 2. Switch to the USB input and ensure the USB drive is recognized. 3. Press the ON/STANDBY button on the front panel while simultaneously pressing the NET button. 4. The display will show "Update via NET." 5. Use the TUNING UP/DOWN buttons on the front panel to switch to the "Update via USB" display. 6. Press the ENTER button on the front panel to start the update via USB. 7. Please wait without turning off the power until the "Complete" message is displayed. 8. Once "Complete" is shown, the update is finished.

  21. Final update for a while. Found a k-55m on eBay for $165 and the guy took my offer of $125. Installed it today (although I need to solder some new contacts in it at some point), and both speakers are sounding amazing. Cosmetic updates are next, but I’m traveling for a bit so it’ll have to wait. Thanks for all the help getting these beasts up and running!

  22. I am dad 😆 The past two times I had a bat in the house I just grabbed a cardboard box and waited for it to fly by and smacked the box up in its face and caught it. No tennis racket required. It’s been about a decade since we’ve had that problem as we no longer have an open chimney. Some days my reflexes are still stupidly fast for stuff like that, other days I’m not so sure.

  23. Went on a self imposed diet in 2013 because my Doctor (very beautiful) said loose 30 pounds, quit the sugar and salt, and exercise every day or I will put you on a pail full of pills. I did what she said and I am only on Lasartan for blood pressure (hasn't changed since 1990) and vitamin D3 2000. All my buddies have those 7-day 3 times a day trays for taking pills and fat guts with bypass scars. JJK

  28. Thanks Dave! It is a weak demo as opposed to a live in person demonstration, of course. May have seen it before. This time wanted to have a tool for interested parties to have a look, and a half baked idea of the potential awesomeness. Whether other videos can give a clue, parties can search those out, in order to have a clue, between the heritage models. A glimpse... @Dave1291

  30. No, it was the Curcio board. It was ok, but I wanted to try the Tubes4HiFi board, even if the layout isn't the best. I had also replaced the power tranny, as I thought the original got pretty hot, but that may just be TVA's power grid running at 125V. I do still have one of the large adjustable theater variacs that I could use to bring the voltage down a little, but it's a bit ugly. Not that anyone would notice in the listening room. It has that studio/lounge/garage look, especially now.

  31. You already know your room setup is not the ideal situation you see posted everywhere. It may be difficult to get an educated recommendation. You may want to find a dealer(s) who has a liberal cheap/free return policy and buy the 600m ii's and the 502's. Try both and return the losers.

  32. Time to ride or die! THAT was yesterday around my place. Rode that coaster once and it's killer. How's yer heart tough guys??? Mine was thumpin last night just like it was when I rode that thing... 60 miles north of me on the coast of Lake Erie here in Ohio. Bring your A game & the kids. I got the lodging covered here. Hour north to heaven or H3ll ! lol Being the tallest roller coaster and the first to top 300 feet wasn’t the only records broken when it opened in 2000. It debuted having the longest drop and the fastest speed topping out at 93 m.p.h. Ranking as one of the world’s best steel coasters year after year since its opening, this behemoth shoots riders over hills, past lagoons and through tunnels, all at unthinkable speeds. With its silhouette illuminated in the night sky, it’s hard miss the iconic coaster on the Cedar Point skyline. About the only way I can describe last evening. A roller coaster. I unzipped the Dom Martin lp's, quick eyeball and laid them here on the arm of the couch for later. Finally figured I'd throw them on for a listen. After I ordered them I'd heard them on youtube and thought this dude's act IS together. Little did I know HOW together. Turned on my "aura" over the table to take a quick photo for in here and filled my shorts. Signed? Personalized? WTF is going on here??? I didn't buy any signed copies so I hit the site to make sure. Nope. How? Why? It was going around in my head and I was loving it. So this dude tours then gets home and signs lp's for people randomly? Who knows but I'm forever grateful and WILL be sittin front row or preferably a tour case (it's cheaper and my rear fits one) when he hits the US. It was almost as nice when my youngest daughter walks in the door @ Christmas. Home from Phoenix. Just crazy! Forever grateful for him doing that. They'll be in Crate #2 of signed stuff. That way I'll know where to find them in this mess of lp's stacked everywhere. Dom Martin (29) is a Belfast born award winning singer/songwriter, inspired but not constrained by the blues. In the past 18 months he has burst onto the UK and European music scene with a unique guitar style and voice captivating the audience at every venue. His main influences are Rory Gallagher, Tom Waits, John Martyn, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters. With five BBC Radio live sessions prior to a first album release, Dom impressed with his 2018 debut original EP “Easy Way Out” with BBC presenter Cerys Matthews describing his work as “absolutely wonderful stuff.” His debut album “Spain to Italy” was fully released on 4th December 2019 to critical acclaim and was an IBBA “Pick Of The Month” gaining airplay on around 100 stations globally. bluespowr.com - 'Spain to Italy is not just one of the best debut releases we’ve heard in some time but among the best albums we’ve heard from any artist this year' makingascene.org - 'The likes of Dom’s talent only comes around once in a lifetime' Fatea Records - 'A musician of unbridled talent and a future that is assured’ After his debut sell out “Spring ’19 UK Tour”, Blues in Britain Magazine said - "Now and again you stumble across a rare talent of such sheer genius that you actually wonder whether what you have witnessed can possibly be for real. Dom Martin is one such talent" (Last FM) Sooooo, he's influenced by Jimi? Watching this I saw that flair and thought Jimi, Mitch and Noel??? Welllll yea, but now it's on him to reach way down and perfect it. He's on the right track imo... Gonna be a great watch for sure. Yea, the old curmudgeon is waitin... Listen up. Ready GO! Only time will tell. An added bonus??? Seriously? On to his latest "Buried in The Hail." Just enough bump to catch ya and that Rory Gallagher twist w/an added touch of Jimi once again? Crazy good! First thoughts? These two are totally KILLAH lp's. More to follow as I kick back and take it all in. Lyrics, his work, his band they just push all the buttons. The acoustic side? Smooth and clean! If ya can't catch a groove you're either deaf or dead! 😂 Get off those gold cards your sittin HARD on! Get ya sum!

LOL But, here is yours truly, with my new Fender Precision Bass Ukelele playing through what is arguably THEE Holy Grail of guitar amps, a 1959 Fender Bassman 5F6A. This particular 1959 Fender Bassman amp has had only one owner, and he was a member of The Harmonicats. Yep, just used for harmonica all those years. AND, FWIW, the amp is going to be up for sale. Interested individuals can contact me and I can put you in touch with my friend (also a Harmonicat) who handling this part of the estate.
