Deang
Mark Twain said, "If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it." I think we should just get rid of voting. Half of the country doesn't participate, and half of those who do are imbeciles. Each party picks their preferred candidate and the whole thing is settled by playing a game of Jeopardy. 3

Great idea! A Jeopardy Teen Tournament winner would beat that “stable genius.”
OO1
you could also do a rotation of the parties - 1 does 4 years , the other the next 4 - and so on -, and so on -

One man one vote....as long as you are a Rich, Anglo, white, land owner. No women, not the majority of the southern population (slaves), not the poor and stupid people. History shows changes have been made in the past, one might even argue, for the better. Time for another on the electoral college.

Dave A
17 hours ago, sputnik said: The problem is that dumb a~~ people are more organized now than they were in 1788. They are emotionally roused by a talk-radio noise machine that shouts nonsense into their limbic system and, in turn, they have an entire inter-webs to puke out dumb a~~ blogs. A “visceral” cycle that successfully manipulates low-information Kool-Aid drinkers to sincerely believe a spectrum of outrageous BS such as “mainstream” media having an agenda to destroy the very Constitution that guarantees a free press. The noise machine pounds away about a mysterious “Deep State” that is so well organized that no one really knows anything about it - the idea is to sow seeds of fear into the Kool-Aid drinkers in order to target honorable career public servants that place service to the Nation over the whims of an egomaniac. The whole “Deep State” fallacy provides the distraction from the fact that rather than draining the swamp, he is polluting it. Auditioning for CNN today?

Yes. One person, one vote. Where you live makes no difference. Anything else makes a vote in Maine more important than a vote in California.
sputnik
It seems contrary to it’s original intent when a handful of swing states determine the election outcome over of a majority of voters. Arizona, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Colorado will decide.

Except for totally different lifestyles and beliefs, neither is more important so large populations/cities who believe the rest of the country does not really count " fly over states" . This is also similar to why redistricting is important, in many cases minority's were not or barely counting.

BigStewMan
Here's something to ponder ... if some dead people still manage to cast absentee ballots (and I have to agree they most certainly are absent), then I guess it's right that some still received stimulus checks ...I mean, despite their lack of living, they're managing to continue to fulfill their civic obligation of voting. Besides, they're probably the only ones still listening to campaign speeches (can you say captive audience) ... well, maybe not (D) and (R) are still managing to get elected.
