DizRotus
If it’s clear tonight, look up to see Jupiter and Saturn appear to be as close together as they have since Galileo’s time. http://detroitnews.mi.newsmemory.com/?publink=223263f8c If you miss this “Great Conjunction,” your next chance will be in 2080.

There are conjunctions we can see in the night sky and those that occur during daylight that are not visible to the naked eye. Merry Christmas Billybob to you and yours. 2

Seadog
I shot this photo yesterday evening, one day before the "great conjunction", which is tonight. The photo is slightly overexposed (cell phone camera through a small telescope eyepiece), but you can clearly see the shape of Saturn and Jupiter with some of its moons. I'll try tonight with a better camera set up. 3
thebes
Watched it for awhile last night. Very cool. Looks like no joy tonight. Rain moving in.
DizRotus
It’s raining here now and promises to be cloudy this evening. Although 12/21 is the night of maximum conjunction, it will be available for a few more evenings, weather permitting. If I miss it this time, my next opportunity is in 2080; I’ll put it on my calendar.
babadono
Been enjoying them getting closer for the last few evenings. Wondering what celestial bodies they might be. Thanks for letting me know what I'm looking at. Should be crystal clear here for tonight's observation.
