  2. It was actually a lil pamphlet/book I used for a book report in like 9th grade. The school had nothing of his on the shelves 50 years later. Now they do! I donated 1 each of the two museum books that were sold the past couple years. The Librarian loved the quality and is using them as reference books in the school library.
  3. Are ya sure or did he lay the phone down and walk away? Asking for a friend. Well, that album speaks volumes about your taste in music! Crank it up cause ya bought 'em to hear 'em! Gonna fit right in w/the gaggle! Just another of the red-headed step brothers. 😂

I have a pair of those at my place right now that a forum member graciously let me borrow. I am surprised how good they sound. I have exclusively been listing to them for the last couple months. They would make a perfect outdoor/ garage speaker or if you had the room inside.
  5. Your sub has an active and a passive woofer. They’re two completely different woofers. Also, I don’t think your sub is quite old enough to be in the Klipsch museum which is the topic of the forum section you posted this in. 😉
  6. Thanks, I’ll be getting a pair for my Cornscala’s pronto! I suppose if I ever get a pair of Klipschorn’s the DE 10-8’s would work out fine also?

  8. You think you're showing your age? I still have my 'working' Pioneer SX-1250 that I got brand new when it was released in 1976! Of course I've had numerous others over the years, but this one is a keeper.
  9. To be honest, I have no idea; they arrived like this. While it's strange to remove a grill to wash something that's brand new I'm not opposed to it.
  10. Guy here locally from this forum is picking these up.
  11. I am looking for a pair of full or half grills for a pair of La Scala (1970's or 1980's vintage). I know this a big "shot in the dark"! Thanks in advance for your responses!
  12. Hi I,m new to this forum Does any body got the DBX 4BX service manual? Thanks from Canada

  14. skunk stripe? what up wit dat? Never seen it on any other pair. It can't be cleaned/removed?
  15. The last two LPs I listened to was Karla Bonoff and Norman Blake.
  16. He might be serious about TS, ya know.
  17. Still available for local pickup... If no interest by early next week, the crossovers may be flying to a new owner...
  18. Yes..... it still sucks lol (although them ABBA gals sure could sing!)
  19. Guys, Thanks for the encouraging feedback. Yeah, I have several Receivers scattered around the house. Now I will shuffle the Optimus and other speakers to their most appropriate locations. I am a bit of a "Pack Rat", so I keep everything, including stuff that is 30+ years old. 🤪 I hate throwing something that is perfectly functional in a land fill, and very few people want "Old Technology" these days. (including me), so it is difficult to find it a "Good Home". We have a yard sale coming up, maybe I can unload a few items there, but last time people wouldn't even take old flat screens priced at $10. I'll keep you updated if/when things progress ...
  20. It was just a thought. I haven't touch a Mac since 2016. I was looking up the specs, and it looks like a no on that idea. Might try a DAC, or other piece to go between.
  21. Oh I should mention setup. PC connected to Anthem MRX720, power from a pair of VTV Hypex NC1200 monoblocks.
  22. ... a few moments later... I am super impressed with the KI-396, and overwhelmed by the encompassing live-like sound these can output. Even before running ARC, I had a smile on my face and after running ARC the smile is even larger. Coming from a pair of electrostats that gave me some trouble over the past almost 20 years of ownership, these are a real treat and check many of the boxes. It also helps that they are nowhere near as fragile. Here is one channel of result of running ARC (red is sweep, green is correction, black line is target curve). I can always tinker with this later. Only complaint and this may go away with time (not sure) is the skunk stripe down the foam backing on the grill. If it still bothers me with time I'll replace it with something less "shiny." Worse in person than it is in the photo, but a reminder these are pro-level cabinets. cheers all!
  23. Been awhile since they did that. I think '12 was the last year but?????
  24. Your post sounds like audiophile talk to me. Smart audiophiles get excellent equipment they can afford, it can be hard to enjoy top of the line everything when up to your eyeballs in debt.
