  1. You know what i DON’T like about coffee … it means I’m on my way to work. Gary … enjoy your heat wave. I had to travel about 30 miles to the east yesterday to an area we call the Inland Empire (it has other not so nice names as well); but, it hit 90 degrees. Didn’t notice the heat so much because i was focusing on how long it took to get there … it took over TWO hours in the bumper to bumper traffic.

  2. Back to low carb this morning.....lost ground over the weekend. Cheesy eggs and crisp bacon....and coffee of course. Jake over did it at the dog park Saturday and was too sore to take his usual walks yesterday. Better today. Painter back on the job this morning. Hopefully he will finish tomorrow. I'm loving the time change....walked a couple of miles after dinner last night. The local park was full of people and dogs. For you working stiffs.....go out there and make us proud Cheers Gents

  4. My friend that was out of town text me yesterday saying a lady on Facebook posted a picture of some Cornwalls asking 250.00. I contacted her immediately to go check them out. The cabs have some scratches, the grills were broke down by the bass ports, missing one Klipsch badge, and a few spider nests behind the grills. The drivers looked fine and they sounded great. Got her down to 175.00 and brought them home. Holding them till my buddy gets back in town next week. They need some work but for that price I couldn't let these go. The serial numbers are 8444262 & 8444263. I'm assuming 1984's? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

  5. Hello Klipsch. I wanted to take a moment to say Happy Birthday to our founder Paul Wilber Klipsch. Today would have been his 111th birthday. I knew Paul and Valerie a number of years before I started working for the company. I only had a few conversations with him about audio. Most of our talks were about life. We talked about love and loss, the past and the future and the usual planes, trains and automobiles. Paul always struck me as a man that loved to learn. I could be about stuff or people or how the world worked, but he was always looking for new things and how to make the old things better. I have seen him make changes to a math equation 40 years old while in his 90’s. He had such an amazing mind. I miss his stories. …I can just see him talking to Gabriel about changes his horn. So, if you have a bottle of Scotch around, raise a glass to PWK. I know I will. Trey Cannon – Systems Engineer

  10. Earl chimed in on this Forum a month after i did, i was very much into doing just exactly what he is still doing now. Traveling a 1K Radius it was open season baby, anything i wanted whether needed or not. My ONLY savior was one single Goal, Achieve a system iv wanted since childhood, within reason, that would indeed pizz of a neighbor Earl has his pretty much achieved his system(s) and now fine tuning his TT adventure IMO. Had i not gone Digital, i would be where Earl is now and still going. There is NO stopping Earl, and he has my respect like NO one else. Everyone here knows after Buying/Trying speakers/Amps, we all know a deal when we see it whether we need it or not And that my Friends is the Curse of Fine Audio. Cheers Earl May you never run out of Money/gas. P.S. Jweber is the man who i would thank, the wife's Khorns for $999 and he gave me the heads up, 16hours later i had them crankin in my living room.

  12. Happy Monday all! Had some wonderful friends over to try out the new projector and watched Master and Commander. A great time to be sure! My 2.5 yr old was so visibly crushed to not be a part of it that it actually bothered me in the back of my mind during the film. Gotta shake those big brown eyes but it's great he's at that stage where he wants to do everything with dad - I know that will change! Anyway, as far as the movie goes, the jump from 65" to 150" was wonderful! SO cinematic! Have a great week everyone!

  14. Mornin all. Looks like I missed a bunch yesterday. Spent the day on chores, visiting with kids, listening to some vintage vinyl and cooking some ribeyes over mesquite. Also saw the new Hunger Games/Mockingjay movie on the HT. Pretty good if you get a chance to see it. Nice paint job, Chuck. Just got an estimate on our place and it's half the amount the first guy quoted. We know the second guy and he does good work, so I gave him the work. Will update on this later. Check back in a bit.....Cheers to all.

  16. Morning guys been very busy setting up here in NC, Weather has been nice was working on repairing my awning (dad bent one of the rafter arms B-4 we left maryland) when heard a BLAST jumped and looked in the direction of the sound see a mist under the motor home first thought damn there went an airbag, next thought could have been the hydraulic line to the jack. Get around and have a look and can see about a 2" hole in the sidewall of the inner tire (dual rear wheels) Never had or heard of tire blowing like that just setting there but I am sure glad it did not blow out on the road spent part of yesterday putting up a cloths line, figure such nice weather might as well hang the clothes for free as apposed to paying the elec. Co. to dry them, Hoping to put it to the test today also got all the windows washed on the motorhome yesterday " I can see clearly now" Well off to grind some beans for the first cup, while the wife drops the boys at school (both seem to like the new school ) Joe

  21. Pull back on the Rains boys and get your minds outta the gutter. Volume, more power in her rig. I (we) built up her current system over the last three years and she was finely happy when we installed the Khorns last Feb, at that time i was told "Touch it and Die" Current system is simply Pc driven, tube Preamp, Dual KT88 Mono Blocks, and Khorns, pushing 45Wpc. Last week in the C&C thread i posted a couple "New" tunes. the wife came home and i cranked them in the Cave on my system, wife liked them, so yesterday she goes in and fires up her system and youtube feed, proceeds to play them, the next thing i hear is, i want MORE Volume ! Building my current system and Dialing it in w/Active Bi-Amp last year, i bought two QSC 1700 Amps.. Was going to use one amp on each Bass stack, however one Amp is way more than i needed. So iv had a spare QSC in stock. Later today i will FINELY get to play with her system and see if she can pizz off a neighbor in the main house. Will update with results later today.

  26. Thanks, guys. They really are amazing. Of the 14 pairs of Klipsch speakers I've owned, these are probably my favorite(or maybe my good ol' RF-35s). Also, why the heck do I still have them? I figured $500 would be a 2-day sale price!

  33. I have been enjoying my RSW-10(d) since the fall of 2008 with never any issues of any kind. I have used it as a single sub with my RF-63 system in a 5500 ft3 room(not enough oooomph for high impact HT) to enhancing a Heresy 2-channel rig in my 13 x 13 bedroom to augmenting my main HT/music rig with four other subs to it's current duties with my RB-75's in my living room. I love this sub, period. Enjoy your new toy. Bill

  35. You got the RC-64 you didn't want and didn't need? Last I heard, you were cutting back on speaker purchases to fully fund the fuel for your jet. That momentary declaration of self-control didn't even last a week. All that means Earl, is that you are the man we all think you are. +++ Edit: BTW, nice find, and yes, I'm extremely jealous.

  36. Since I missed coffee with the coffee klack. Here is dinner for tonight. Stuffed chicken on the grill. Tomatoes, cucumber, and rice with Italian dressing, and gluten free garlic bread. Chuck that desert looks. When I was a child I didn't care for mint chocolate. Now especially with peanut butter, I love mint chocolate ice cream.

  38. A near perfect day here....70 degrees and sunny. Made some cheese grits for breakfast. Washed the car at 11:00 am in shorts and no shirt (forget it Earl I won't send you a photo). Met LF at Blue Surf restaurant for lunch. She had a mahi sandwich with mango salsa and I had mahi tacos with mango and radish salsa. Came home and we both spent an hour on the porch working on the tans. Rest a bit and then catch sunset on the historic Cape Fear River. Not a bad day.

  41. After catching up on the post since I last checked in I must say I'm impressed with the talented and interesting folks here in our coffee klatch. Many stories to tell. Here is my recent story. I have an old (82) Dutch friend who is a retired psychiatrist. I worked with him for a few years when I was a case manager at the local mental health center. Rolf and his wife Maryke use to visit with me and my wife from time to time and tell us about their life in Holland when Holland was occupied by the Germans. Property was confiscated and many died of hunger. A very traumatic time. Maryke developed pancreatic cancer and in her last days she use to call to see if she could come over to listen to Josh Groban or Andrea Bocelli on my system. We always said yes. She passed away 7 years ago. Anyway I'm getting to my point. Rolf has always been eccentric and a bit of an odd bird. Friday I was in my bedroom making a new playlist on Spotify with music blaring at the other end of the house. I walked down to the music room, laptop in hand and as I entered the doorway I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye, of someone on my sofa. I was so startled I almost threw the lap top at.....you guessed it.....Rolf sitting in the sweet spot. I guess I need to start locking my doors! He came by again yesterday and brought a record he had just bought. A new vinyl copy of Graceland by Paul Simon. I cleaned it and played it for him. He left it with me since he doesn't have a music system. So that was my excitement. A birthday party for two friends one 65 one 80 last night. Blew the diet big time. Back at it tomorrow. Long winded.....sorry! Cheers Gentlemen

  42. Oh great now I have router envy Have been playing around routing different designs, it's not as easy as it looks, for sure. It's easy to just shape or round off edges but trying to draw is rough for me. "Warning" Do NOT do as I do, my pic should be in the warnings on how not to operate a router. I take off the frame with the handles and use it as a giant drimmel tool. I need MUCH more practice, and still may not get any better ?
