Found some good and some not so good contractors but "Hawkeye" also known as Tarheel kept folks in line. She keeps asking for one of my R2Rs We covered the walls with grass cloth in the A/V room. Carpet on the floor so we will see how it sounds. I get to furnish the pool room. Has a nice Brunswick table that will need to be tuned and leveled. Heading out to dinner with mi amigo from LA before he heads off to Germany/Holland for a vacation after filming the movie "Six". LF will be staying at her new place for the first time tonight. That's it for now....requerdos los anchovies........

  4. Mornin' all. It's almost a weekend. Great job on that Klipsch booth at the festival. Gotta start gearing up for a brief vacation to the Durango, CO area next Wed. It's one of the prettiest parts of the state and lots to do from fly fishing to white water. Will let Better Half Unit decide since she's the one who really needs a vacation. Tarheel (Chuck) ... sounds like a successful conclusion to your career as LF's project manager. Congrats. Have a good Friday folks and cheers.

  15. Yeah, you could connect a 240v generator to the input (top usually) of your houses electrical panel. Making sure to disconnect the power company's feed to your house is mandatory as you wouldn't want to back feed power to the transformer!

  22. I've been eyeing a new avr for months. I knew I wanted a Pioneers Elite but, wasn't sure which one. Just went looking last night to see if BB had the SC 95 or 91. They had one 91 but, no preouts and what to do with the 5 channel Acurus amp. BB had slim pickings, the only other was two Elite 99's. I brought the flagship SC 99 home after careful questions on the return policy. It's a big sucker like the SC 35. What features lead to the purchase? Sub EQ, Full band phase control, Atmos and a few others. It was late so I just sat it in the HT last night. This morning I did a quick setup. Setup can be confusing due to the Atmos and the numerous configurations. You can read the 151 page manual, lol. Luckily I was familiar with most of the setup since it is similar to the SC 35. Then came autocalibration with MCACC Pro. This went a bit faster than MCACC. The sub setup consisted of full bandwidth phase control, PEQ/DSP, and standing wave control. MCACC did a great job calibrating the system and is definitely several steps above MCACC. It appears to EQ the subs below 20 Hz to my surprise. It also EQ the left and right side separately in the .2 option is chose. Music: Norha Jone just came alive and the sound was projected to the MLP with authority 20 ft. away. The full band phase control gives great imaging and separation and perfect bass, tight and clean. Nick Colionne, Celine Dion finished the music session off just as nice. Movies: Transformers Age of Extinction was even more dynamic than before. Increase TR with a lower sub trim. Dialogue clear and sharp. No harshness to the sound. I almost lost a lamp and two table top pieces. The picture quality was excellent just like the SC 35. War of The Worlds and the second Tron where very immersive also. If any one is looking for a good HT and music avr, the Pioneer's avr with MCACC Pro are no joke, they are better than good at getting great sound! I am sure I will be learning new things over the next few month after I get the Atmos speakers setup 9.2.2, wires ran, the fun stuff.

  24. CF line came just before the KLF line (thank you for the time correction SWL and for checking DTR20). KG are not in the same performance level as the KLF or the CF line or the reference either. If you like the KG5.2 and the KG5.5 then you will love the CF3 and CF4. The KLF line very often have adhesive problems on the front and rear baffles which is a PITA but they are worth fixing but the two way CF are very good they have the largest wide band horn of ANY klipsch home loudspeaker and with horns larger is better. You would need to make the jump to the K510 to make an improvement it is a little bit larger and it has a two inch throat so you are jumping up to large format drivers a jump you will never regret. What are you looking for? Regards moray james.

  43. Banner week for me. Monday scored three Heresy HIP units for $120, 7-ply cabinets in rather rough shape and large security eyelets which served as anti-theft in a small college library. Ended Friday with a pair of Cornwalls in oiled walnut finish with blown woofers for $250. Dropped the latter off to a local Klipsch tech to be re-coned, after that they'll need some elbow grease to restore the finish on the cabinets. That said, I expect to have a killer 5.1 setup for about one-third the going used prices. Score!!!

  44. Welcome to the Forum! I dont think Klipsch can supply you with a direct replacement woofer from the factory for the KP-201. I would try posting a WTB (Want to buy) post in the garage sale and see if anyone has a spare they can offload, the industrial heritage speakers are relatively popular here so you might have good luck. The Synergy B3 may be difficult to find a replacement but you might get lucky on ebay but the cost may not be worth it considering the market value of those. Honestly, you are probably better off getting a new set of Klipsch bookshelf speakers.

I think these may be the largest I can fit in this area, so these will be around for a long time. Before I sold my Cornscalas, I had them in the room for auditions.
