  1. Evening Folks, if this cover looks ragged...it's my fault! Got this at the K-Mart forty years ago remember having a hard time holding it and riding home on my ten speed cause if it swung too hard it would get in the spokes. At about ten bucks that was two quarter acre plus yards at $5 per yard. Still some good rock-n-roll tunes anytime, anywhere.

  3. Great play right there John! WOW, 40 years.........then, I realize that my LP collection runs back to that date and beyond!! Ok, just to catch you up on things here in Music Hall.................I have JUST installed a brand new matched set of Gold Lion KT-88 replica bottles. These were from a wonderful tube shop located in my neighboring town about 7 minutes drive. They sell world wide on the net! Bought these on Monday and about to bias them for the first time.... Here are some photos I just posted in RTM, as I can't spin up music until they are correctly setup in the mono blocks......

  4. Just in case anyone here has forgotten how great the Stones melded keyboards and guitar on their old stuff, I'm on it again today. This was my favorite until Some Girls came out, but heck they aren't comparable. I've got two favorite Rolling Stone LPs!

  9. ... and then there is WillyBob's ... I take a liberal attitude about cooking, some of my stuff is good. Mashed potato and hamburger enchilada style burros in green enchilada sauce. Unlikely combo that works.

  13. We wanted to sit down for a while so we went to a courtyard area called Musical Legends Park. It's just a courtyard right on Bourbon open so you can watch all the crazies walk buy. We got a couple drinks there, found out in the back of the courtyard was sponsored by Southern Comfort and was free drinks. I normally don't drink that kind but some man asked me if I tried it, I said no and was told you need to try it, it is something new they came out with. So after a little arm twisting we tried it, the guy mixing drinks was really good and the drink was good. Who knew, but if it's not your first few that might have helped ? we sat there a couple hours people watching and listening to music. They had a DJ that had a really good mix of music, and it was all vinyl 45's, but JBL speakers which kind of sucked, the drinks helped. We all had a good time but moving slow today, got home early this morning. From where we sat looking at Bourbon street. The other pic is the front of the bronze statues. And the DJ guy, he really did have a good mix, he used hard road cases full of 45's.

  15. You couldn't teach a real coonass to boil crawfish. A coonass would never say "prepared" crawfish. A coonass would never have someone else boil them unless they were out somewhere and only got a few pounds as a snack. When you boil, a minimum would be 35-40 pounds, that's how many are in a sack, most people boil at least 2 sacks up to however many needed. The most we have boiled for one get together was about 350 pounds, we NEVER use the pre-mixed seasoning BS.

  20. Looks good Mike, that's quite a chore. That Kerdi Board is super easy to work with. It comes in a lot of thicknesses. The 2" thick pieces are strong enough to make a seat in a shower out of it without the need for any wood structure beneath it. Saves a lot of time.

  24. Got that Columbian Supremo roasting down cold with my Secura. Such a deal! Fresh roast, no hassle. And so cheap. Just finished 5 lbs of the Columbian roasting the last pound today. May order something else just to experiment since green bean prices on line have dropped so much over the past few years it's easily competitive even with Folger's. Dave

  30. My wife and I met when we were both studying abroad in France, and I have this aching need for some mac and cheese. Not some fancy French dish, but real mac and cheese. And it is not be found anywhere in the country. So I had a friend send me some, and he sent me a great big case of it with 40 or 60 boxes. And this was in 1984/85. We really enjoyed, them, but when the other Americans found out that I have mac and cheese, they wanted some too, and when they found out how much I had, I thought they were going to have me killed. So I sold most of it. I am not necessarily proud of what I charged, but all I could do with the money was buy French wine.

  34. Other than the fact that NASA offered it up to a capitalist-free-market, winner take all, scenario and it was too big, too much risk. GOVT is involved in all kinds of things. The reason that the US is the leader, again, in semiconductors is the Govt-Private sector partnership in Austin called Sematech. https://www.technologyreview.com/s/424786/lessons-from-sematech/ All of transportation in the US was GOVT led and subsidized. Railroads, Autos,. Air travel, everything. I think there are a lot of people who want to believe that an industry giant, or a sector in the economy is pure capitalist, built from the ground up,.It's a myth that supports their agenda. This thread proves that people are desperate to believe this myth, , but it is just a myth, a canard. The true genius of industry giants, from the industrial revolution up until today, is to take a giant vision and figure out how to partner with government in a way that makes the impossible possible.

  35. Ok, you try driving blindfolded and see if you can tell the diff. This is one of those no-win propositions. If I try it, and it is horrible, then I have a pan full of horrible pasta. But my wife would make me eat is anyway because I made it and we do not waste food. If I try it and it is god, then I have to admit that my entire lasagne belief system is based on lies. The ones who still believe will disown me for not cooking first, and the one who don't cook will never really accept me. In the end, I will have to either quit eating lasagne altogether or secretly make it in tiny batches and quietly goblle it down in my office late at night with the door locked. So nice try. In the meantime, Marcella Hazan is the Godmother of Italian cooking, and I used her recipe when I make lasagne. And she clearly says to not only to boil but that "it is necessary." I am not messing with the Godmother when her son lives down the street in Portland.

  37. Hello everyone! Today, finally, I have arrived at my house two new Forte III, consecutive serial and this time everything is perfect. They are already playing for a few hours, you must have the patience to do a bit of break-in but as I had already heard from the previous couple, they play very well and the low range, one that was lacking in Heresy III, here is very present and full-bodied . Naturally, I must thank all those interested in replacing my loudspeakers, from Klipsch to the Italian importer MPI Electronics in Milan and up to the Hi-Fi Prestige store in Genoa in the person of Mrs Carla. They were all very kind and quick as possible.

Whew! made about a seven pound lasagna Thurs night...... we'll finish it off tonight! Second coffee coming up soon!

  44. I haven't ordered any, honestly $80 for adapters is a bit more than I'm comfortable spending when there's a few significantly cheaper options for the DIY'er type like myself. I just ordered the cheapest set of ABS adapters I could find for experimenting, don't really need them myself as I have threaded horns already. If I can get the cheaper sets to work and they seem like a good option I'll post my findings maybe offer to pass them on to someone here who might need them at cost? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pack-Procraft-LHW-3-Horn-Adapter-Female-1-3-8-18-TPI-Threads/281461602951?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
