  2. that is one thing you can say about this place ... y'all are not slaves to fashion... one thought on this micro coffee pot I should just take the lid off of it and call it a "dirtmugg"....

  4. No but I will say one thing, I am definitely weaker than I was 10 years ago. Never thought of it that way, your right, 6 in one room.......plus 2 huge speakers for 2 Ch and a big fat sub for both. He would freak out, he was very nervous already, I set them on top the ladder and he held them while I got down, then he helped bring them to the porch so I could blow off 10 years of dust. That's what I should have got a pic of ! Well I cleaned them good and they were Walnut oil so I oiled them, they are looking pretty good for 30 years old, but most 30 year old's should look good. I got out the Forte ll's out the boxes and they were Oak oil and a little dry so I cleaned them and oiled them also, if they dry tonight I can hang them if not it will be tomorrow. The two's are from 1991, they came out with that version in 1989. So our oldest daughter is going to have a pair of the originals and a Danley Spud clone for a sub, should sound good, they use computer speakers now. It was a tough choice, give her the original Forte's or a pair of black RB-75's, both with the sub. We decided to keep the 75's just because they are much more portable to take places, they have already been to Tennessee to a cabin. Yes we have taken speakers on vacation

  5. --- "got the 18 year old grandson to help catch them". So I'm picturing you on the ladder, pushing the Forte from its shelf yelling "here it comes" and hoping the young man can pluck a Forte out of mid-air .

  7. Jon @McBlueMeter sent these in the original factory packaging. The Klipsch box was in a sturdy FedEx box with plenty of paper filler. Not a foam 🥜peanut in sight. It was like opening a brand new pair. They look brand spanking new and sound terrific. After seeing them and listening, I feel these are better suited to my son’s apartment. The KP-201s are better suited to the middle school band room. The H2s will be available, unless my son prefers them to The Sixes, which would surprise me greatly. The HIP will be turned into “Super Heresys.” In any case two pairs of Heresy derivatives will be available. Thank you very much Jon.

  8. Yes I have. We did a shootout with them with identical placement in the same room. Hands down the RSW performed better for music. I don't do movies much, so I can't comment nor care to for them. You have been here long enough to know specs on paper are but a mere fraction of the story. Those specs also come from rooms with the most ideal setups and treatments. So, to look at a piece of paper and assume something is close enough is a bit short sighted, wouldn't you say? The 115sw is one of the best Klipsch has offered in a long time, but I will always pick the RSW simply because it delivers performance that runs circles around the R series when it comes to accurate bass production in music. There's no contest.

  9. I am not here to say which is "better" because "better" can be very subjective, but IMO, the RSW(10", 12", 15") line of subwoofers are the most musical subs Klipsch has ever produced with maybe one exception, the P-312W. Very "accurate, clean, punchy, and can dig relatively deep with proper setup, placement, and in the right room. Very solidly built with good heft(45lbs, 58lbs, 85lbs). Now with that said, your rig with your twin R-115SW's looks awesome and I bet sounds awesome. Play with the settings and placement until it sounds "right" to you and you will be in for many years of enjoyment. Bill

  10. Just "HAD TO" chime in ... Replaced my Klipsch 10" sub with a Dayton Audio 15" HF sub (kit). YES; "blew it away." Even better ... the Professional series speakers DEFINITELY "blow the (consumer) Klipsch speakers out of the water." Replaced my Cornwall's with KPT-904's ... not even close. Cheers, Emile

  12. Alright so for YEARS I have been wanting a pair of heresy decorators, well a few years back at the gathering in Hope, Andy aka @HDBRbuilder brought his pair of "flamed decorators". I had never seen them before but loved the look of them. Finally found a pair with in a reasonable drive. So the wife and I packed a bag and took off to Broken Arrow OK about 4.5hrs from me. I had been here before to pick up a set of Forte 2's so I was pretty familiar with the area. In addition my wife and I were in this same area back in August for our anniversary getaway more on that later. Rolled into Broken Arrow about 12:30. Meet the seller at his house, really a great fellow audio enthusiast. He had at least 30-40 vintage Marantz stereo receivers and amps, crazy amount of gear. Did a few demos paid the man and headed out. Got back in town and grabbed some lunch at OK Joe's barbecue. Some of if not the best barbecue sauce I have ever tasted good stuff! Next door to OK Joe's was Bass Pro and in my parts it's a felony not to stop at Bass Pro! However my wife found several things "on sale" lol! Wife and I headed to our hotel over in Claremore Ok to stay the night got to the room about 4. Decided to go watch a movie so we headed over to the local theatre B&B theatre. I wasn't expecting much since I had never heard of B&B before. Got two tickets to see A quiet place, grabbed some popcorn and headed to theatre 3. Man was I blown away this place had these awesome reclining seats nice and comfy only downside is they had JBL's (I always look)! Great movie by the way very different but worth checking out. Grabbed some snacks and went back to the room to.chill day 1 in the books. Day two Woke up to rain and cold temps my dumbass had on shorts and flip flops! We hung out at the room until check out time then headed over to our favorite fast food taco joint, TACO TICO! So why taco tico? Well when my wife and I were in college neither of us had any money and taco tico had a Sunday special of .20 tacos on Sunday! I would get 10 tacos and eat on them for days lol. Just good memories, last year for our 20yr anniversary my wife researched and found this place. There are not many locations left so if your near one give em a try! Got out bellies full and headed back home. Got back about 5pm. Next day hooked the decorators up they sound great but look outstanding just what I wanted. All in all a great trip to pick up some Klipsch and spend time with my better half. Road trips are good for the soul you never know what you might discover.

  15. Thanks for all the input. I spent Tuesday morning at Tractor Supply Co looking at fence posts. Manage to cut my pants severely and my leg just a bit. They gave me a free pair of pants! How is that for customer service? I was blown away. So I get back to the compound with my 6.5' posts, signs, wire, and fence post setter. On about the 5th post the owner comes out. Completely different tune from days past. I think the surveyor must have been enough to have him realize I was not joking around. He was very calm, polite and dare I say friendly....no not friendly the guy is still a bit of a jerk but for sure he had his tail between his legs. You could tell in his voice and demeanor he was rattled. He says you don't have to put up the signs, I'll respect the survey markers. He more or less agreed that the first/corner marker was what he had thought several years ago when we built but seems he differed on the angle the property line cut after that. I was correct he was mistaken....though I still personally believe, based on previous conversations, that he knew all along what was mine and what was his his. He just thought since we rarely are on that part of the property that he could "take" liberties and appear to have more near his driveway leading to house. Long story but the short version is he built way to close to the boundary for a 10+ acre lot and I think he regrets the placement. Tough S#!t man, your problem not mine. Leave my stuff alone. I told him I had to put the signs up as my next step was the cops and a lawyer. I needed the signs to clearly state my purpose. The signs are pointed right at his driveway has he passes and only about 15' from the driveway. In some spots the posts/signs are only about 30' from his house. I actually felt a bit bad as they are right in his face and pretty ugly IMO. Why oh why didn't he build more into his property?!?! We talked some more he apologized for what was downed and tried some lame excuse that the guy he hired got carried away. We discussed the spraying and a few other issues. In the end I agreed to remove the signs but keep the fence posts to clearly mark the boundary line. We agreed that if during the summer I did not see brush growing back up that the signs would return. He promised up and down to never set foot across the line again. Agreed to not spray roundup, agreed that he was wrong. Thanked me for taking the signs down and shook my hand at least 3 times. All in all I'm happy with the results because the sighs were obnoxious and so close to his house. I felt sort of bad for his wife and kids having to look at them. Again what were they thinking when they built? I think I am now in the "trust but verify" mode. I'll be keeping a close eye out. I'd like to believe that we are all ultimately decent and do the right thing given a chance...but it is pretty hard these days. My wife thinks I am bit too trusting. Time will tell. I'm not returning all the signs, that is for sure.

  17. I have no personal knowledge if this is true...that is just my opinion based on my own personal assumptions. I'll check with Klipsch to see if they would be interested in sending me one to compare to the RSW-15. You are correct...I have not heard the R-115SW yet. Let me go back and bold and italicize think.

  21. the Kid is a sharp cookie. She is 3 1/2.. She noticed the bubbles on the pancakes when we were making them. Yesterday, I was looking... She had turned one of these R15M's. She found the port on the back. If she can't feel air moving, it isn't working... She gonna love the Scalas. ... and as long as the kid like them, they can stay. Wife will let them. Otherwise, they will end out in the "doghouse". My 12 X 12 shed/cave. Be like sitting in a pair of headphones.

  24. OK so I had a project today, we are going to give our oldest daughter a pair of forte's and a sub for her new remodeled house. We had for rear surrounds a pair of original Forte's for L&R and a center forte ll for the back 3, in a 6.1 setup. We had an extra pair of Forte ll's we thought about giving her but she does not care so I decided to switch them out and have 3 of the ll version across the back . I was being lazy not wanting to switch them out but decided it had been like that for 10 years and it will probably be forever after this switch I might as well do it. Problem was they are mounted up on the ceiling against a beam, and they weigh 70 pounds each. Plus the one version was Walnut and the ll version is Oak like the center, they will all match, not that were that particular. They are aimed like that because the sofa is against that beam right under them. I got the 18 year old grandson to help catch them as I lowered them from the ladder. But I'm glad it's over, except for putting the next ones up. You would not believe the dust on the back of the speakers behind where you can not reach 10 years worth, I put them on the front porch and used the blower to blow them off, next I need to wipe them down. They are Walnut oil so I will oil them before we give them to her, plus I am going to order those metal grate speaker covers for the rear passive radiator because they have cats dogs and kids. This where they were. I did this because there years ago because there is no other place to put anything on the sides rear. It's a sickness.

  25. I had one of those TT also and a Yamaha. They probably were just to lazy to take the LaScalas, they are not something you grab and run off with and throw in the trunk of a car. Plus they obviously didn't know what they were or what they were worth.

  26. Hello all... haven't been on in a long while. Hate to do it but I need to sell my LaScalas. Medical/living expenses and not having any health insurance have forced my hand. I've got 2 pair available. Here is the link to: My other pair... 2002 Birch Lacquered This pair are 1999 Birch Raw with the AL-3 crossover and brown grilles. All original drivers and no changes to the crossovers. No boxes. Serial Numbers: LSBR18 - 99440001 & 0002 According to the previous owner (I'm the 3rd owner), the mid-horn's had some type of silver foil backed damping applied to them (visible in the photos). And they may have had a very light coat of clear lacquer applied to them (they don't feel raw, but they're not as silky smooth as my other factory lacquered pair). Whether they were lacquered or not, they have a nice reddish/blond patina. But they have not gotten any darker since I bought them. General condition I'd say is an 8/8.5 with good corners. But there are a few nicks/scratches here and there. The grilles are in excellent condition and the Klipsch badges are flat and intact. I've had them quite awhile and they were bought here in the DFW area. This pair was in my 5 channel, all LaScala system, that I had in my home. They were rotated in/out of the center channel position every year or so. But they've been sitting in the back of my apartment for the last year collecting "LaScala dust". I'm asking $1100, but if someone was interested in buying both pair, I'd be willing to knock 8-10% or so off the price. Cash is king, but I do have a PayPal account (plus fees) if that would be better for you. These are local pickup only. And I'm in a 2nd story apartment right now, so you'd need a two wheeler and some help to get them down the stairs. Though with notice I can probably get my brother over here to help move them. I'm located in Mansfield, Texas... zip 76063. If you have any questions, please let me know... Thanks, Tony

  27. I spent the entire day recongifuring my front stage layout as it had gotten slightly out of control recently... nothings really changed, it's just cleaner and neat now. I even took the time to rehang my Monitor (it took three attemps) to get it as close to level as possible. Walnut much the beginning... The "Money" shot... Finally... this shyte is exhausting!

  29. Mid bass slam that you feel in your chest is normally around 50 to 80 Hz which is coincidentally the same frequencies that your chest resonates at. Infrasonics are felt in your chair, mid bass is felt in your chest. Lascalas with proper amplification have good mid bass slam.

  31. Just unpacked new KD15s. Can tell you that they are slightly larger than the originals, and they don’t fit flush into the hole. Will require some manual filing to slightly enlarge the hole on each speaker. Apparently no pain, no gain.

  34. I have a "record player" ... one of those gray boxes from the school system. I know we are old enough to remember those. My dad had this one because it will play 78's. If those folks that stole the Mac and TT, even if they knew what LS are worth, it like the Chamber of Commerce in Anchorage.... They have a piece of jade on display on the sidewalk ... nobody messes with it ... It the size a VW. got the tamper-proof screw from the coffee maker. No obvious sign of problem. It didn't let magic smoke. The fuse is still good, too. I wonder if we got back to basics ... is it plugged in? is it turned on? Something stupid... like the plug/power lead developed a break. It acts like an "open". There is a relay ... but that is for the heater coil... I don't think power is getting there.

  41. Years ago I helped my aunt cut her grass with her Honda self propelled. It almost killed me, high speed was almost a slow jog and slow was real slow, the mower was great I was just out of shape to go on high for to long. I don't think you could kill that mower. I have to much grass to cut so I use a kubota with a 72" finishing mower, with a comfortable seat and drink holder and a roof to keep cool, ya know how old people do it.
