  1. Got home last night in time to watch football, just drinking coffee now and doing nothing so far. The wedding Saturday went great, wedding, reception than an afterparty plus watching the Conner Mcgregor fight, it all ended about 4 in the morning. The next day about 30 people got together again and Chief Bonehead went to a Mexican grocery across town and got 25 pounds of Fajita meat and about 15 pounds of some kind of marinated chicken? Bonehead grilled it all and everyone ate and the party died off late again, we just took it easy yesterday then drove home. It was all fun, now back to somewhat normal.

  2. So, if I buy a pair of Sixes, will they be dead in a year? And if they die, will you support me? Your history/reputation with powered stuff is terrible. $800 is a lot of money to me right now. I’ve been using a Bose Soundlink III for almost three years now - not even a hiccup. I’ll only pull the trigger if you’re willing to OWN IT. #promediapieceofshitdontwanttoendupthere

  5. fireplace is starting to look attractive. 40` this AM. It is our only heating for this place. We go thru about a cord thru the season. Need to go to "town". Oil change. Some new wiper blades. Either these are contaminated with ArmorAll or something like that or they are RainX blades. When I washed the windshield with vinegar/water, you could see where the wipers run. A funny film of some sort. Then I have some incidental stuff to get. JB weld, pull chain for ceiling fan. Groceries. I am out of tomato products. The WhiteElephant. Look at some furniture. See what they have. Retirement community. Can get some nice stuff, once in a while. See what is in their "music" area. Been 30 years since I bought any CDs. I could use some "new" selection. Otherwise, it's a trip to Tucson. To the "entertainment exchange". Used to be a used book/record store... Now, they have a whole bunch of things.

  7. Just picked up the 504c and 8000f. It's my first Klipsch speakers and so far I love the clarity of the tweeter. For the hour that I've used the 504c it's easily the best Center I've owned. Also the largest. Like really big. I haven't really had a chance to let these things loose yet but I will hopefully tomorrow Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  8. If they were just ten miles from my house I'd go over there even if I had to set the refrigerator outside!! Is there any chance that they could be properly shipped without damage? There is a fair amount that can be paid for shipping at $1500. Maybe the Pony Express forum here would be able to help? They look very nice in maple, the one worry is he says they were wrapped in plastic and there is still a film on them.

  13. You must not have experience with many top tier avr's. The top Pioneer lines don't give up much to a power amp. Pioneer will give you all channels driven. I have used these avr's with 4 or 5 two hundred watt power amps, the only reason I need the power amp is for accessory speakers. The Class D3 amps are as clean as any power amp under $6000. The connectivity is very nice which an amp does not have. The power supply and preamp are in separate compartments. Avr's are not necessarily inferior to amp/preamp combo. They are made by larger companies that have the power of comparative advantage. This can allow them to deliver a comparable unit at way less than an amp/preamp combo with more options. Never say always in audio.

  21. I think I heard Bon Ami cleaner is good for cleaning the RainX stuff off a windshield. I hate that film residue. It's nice having speakers with lots of detail, and hearing new things in the songs you've listened to forever.

  27. The best thing I did in Texas was getting an efficient heating and air system and a ridge vent roof. Electricity bill is not a problem. A few months out of the year for water however...different story.

  28. Saved a hunch..... I have forced air.. And I go on the budget plan... My bill is only $128 a month... for G.& E. For 9-10 months... And $75 2-3 months...

  29. I look forward to a reduced utility bill, this coming winter, I tried a handful of gimmicks to hold the Texas heat away for the past two summers... an extra 10 inches of blown-in insulation, a metallic ceramic thing spray-on radiant barrier to the underside of my roof, extra thermostatic powered attic vents, and finally a new roof (after 20 year's) and replaced the rest of the of the soffits and under eave vents and siding up top, caulked it all real good, three coats of paint with primer, removed the chimney from my wood burning fireplace, ripped it out... and plugged the cavity and only saved about $100 a month over the last few year's for the sake of comparisons... it seems like everything I tried would be more in line with wearing a heavier coat (for my house) …. at least I have a remote for my new electric led fireplace now lol.... and a cheap new mr coffee maker...

  32. And the best news is that you don't even have to deal with these boxes to get this upgrade. Anyone can buy the K402 horns with K691 drivers and base/stands and do this! I'm glad I went this way because I'll find another use for the boxes, but, it's surprisingly easy to do this relatively inexpensively without them.

  33. I think that instead the bigger picture will exacerbate regional and perhaps global power struggles. We aren't headed for extinction, but we do seem to be headed to a much smaller population because of the sustainability issue you mention. What has happened in the past when the established order collapsed? The last example is after the fall of Rome. It became the dark ages, a time of warlords and suffering. Now of course any warlords will have much more powerful weapons.

  34. .. sitting here trying to count on my finger's, so I'm pretty sure that's the first time I ever used the word "peer" … I surely didn't want to be the first guy to confess looking into a cup of coffee... that venture is usually associated with tasting the grounds that got in there after the filter collapsing lol …. trying to make this an extra long post to outdo the china rhetoric... like figuring now, or praying it's gone, and we can discuss coat hanger antennas.

  41. You didn't say this: "Unlike what everyone has seen from the losing party since the election and again with the latest latest justice appointee?" If that wasn't you I apologize. if it was, you are way off track. Saying "the issue is China" over and over doesn't get you off the hook. You seem to want to continue referencing off topic current events relating to the current administration.

  44. the cat with its face in to cuppa looks like one of our kittens. She will drink your coffee. They think I'm their momma. Whatever I am eating/drinking, they want. They didn't know chicken was food until I waved a piece in front of them for/to eat. wife is "off work" ... well, no school, this coming week. Fall break. She's sposed to do grade cards. But, is talking going to her sister's, in Tucson, for a few days. I don't see grade cards getting done, if that happens. I did the math. 3 days in the city and 4 days babysitting the granddaughter.... and 3 days doing report cards... got a pot of Mexican going. Good stuff

  46. I went to the Fleetwood Mac show in Tulsa Wednesday night. It was the first show of their 2018 North American Tour. Overall, it was a good show. Mike Campbell and Neil Finn did a decent job. The first song of the encore was a tribute to Tom Petty with Free Fallin'. Here's the setlist: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/fleetwood-mac/2018/bok-center-tulsa-ok-1be905bc.html Does anyone have any idea what these speakers are?
