Definitely not helping to make your point. It’s obvious that you did not understand what I wrote. In case you don’t know, Paul’s four points; high efficiency, low distortion, controlled directivity, and controlled freq response. That’s what I am for and as long as I can help it, that will be the case. Will a Cornwall sound good in a typical living room? Yep. Will a ki396, 904 or even a grand system......you betcha. You gain headroom, headroom, headroom. Did I mention headroom? There is no compromise on the acoustic goals but only with what physics and economics limits us. Like bass extension and price points. So before you categorically decide that pro speakers are lacking the attributes of a home system, go listen to one. And now I really hope you get it.......meanwhile back to bass fishing.6 points

This refurbishment project has been mainly a summertime (3 years now!) project with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club... slow going, but little by little we've made progress. The Klipsch Audio Community has been wonderful with tons of good advice. Now that I'm "retired" I'll have a bit more time to volunteer on this endeavor. Recently we've been patching and sanding the cabinets in preparation of adding 1/4" mdf to the exterior prior to walnut veneer. I'm attaching some photos of the steps so far. Already secured all new (or had refurbished by Crites) innards.4 points

Urban should retire. There are more important things than football. He will also leave knowing he gave Michigan the biggest #$$ whipping in Big Ten History.3 points

You're showing either your ignorance.....or bias? I once had a pair of Khorns. I presume we can both agree that those are "home" speakers, no?? I found a spot in my house (open floor plan) about 30 feet away (yes I measured) where they came into a singular voice and sounded distinctly better. Fast forward a number of years, I sell them and replace them with the Jubilee. The Jubilee is one of those cinema speakers that you might feel are designed for a banquet hall. I soon went to this 30' distance to hear how they improved.....only to be frustrated that their sound didn't change. Fast forward to the end of the story, what I discovered is since they were 2-way their sound came together much faster, therefore closer than the Khorns and now, I can be about 10 feet away from them to get that similar singular voice that the Khorns took 30 feet for me to achieve. So now, we have the cinema speaker sounding better in the home, than the home speaker.....and at a closer distance!!3 points

I had to log on to answer this. You can think that about Klipsch pro speakers but you are thinking wrong. Every speaker that is designed, is designed for ALL of Paul’s goals. As he once told me, it should not matter if you plug in a turntable or a live band, it has to sound very good and true to the input. The fact that it has to provide higher max spls is an added spec; not to replace the other specs.3 points

I, and many here, disagree. What allows efficient low distortion at high volumes, frequently provides exemplary sound at domestic volume levels. Jubilees are a case in point.3 points

Yesterday I installed my a55g mid drivers into klf-30's and am giving them there run in. First impression was a noticeable difference in the lower end of the sqwalker and over all smoothness. After ~10 hours I have started to notice on lesser quality recordings are showing themselves. So far I am very pleased with the new drivers. Now if I can hold off with putting the Ciare drivers in for another few days.2 points

Something we have never seen before, a rescue at sea, we were about in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico and apparently someone was in trouble. These people were very good at what they do, there was about a 35+ mph wind and the ship was moving around. The pilot held the helicopter surprisingly steady, the whole thing took about an hour.2 points

=== I’m thinking ODS123 is not taking into account, or has never heard what a compression driver with a 2 in. exit can accomplish in a two-way system. There is no comparison that to the much smaller horns in the Heritage or consumer line. My only home, pro cinema experience is with Jubes so I can’t comment on the Cornwall/396 comparo. But I have owned Corns, and Khorns and Jubes at the same time. There is little comparison from extreme low volume to over the top loud. I suppose the Heritage LaScala might be considered the closest to a pro line speaker and while it still remains one of my fav speakers it just physically can’t match a 2 inch driver coupled to a horn big enough to swallow your head. Best advice - find yourself a home with pro cinema and listen for yourself.2 points

Just like you can drive 15 MPH in a school zone while driving a Ferrari, the commercial speakers will also play at low levels. Just because a Ferrari can go 200+ mph doesn't mean it has to. Just because their cinema speakers can go exceedingly loud, doesn't mean they have to. Meanwhile, back at the farm... I was told on more than one occasion by Mr. Hunter that Klipsch designs ALL their speakers for high fidelity... Just some random thoughts to mull over.2 points

The Craigslist Ad I posted has the SF2 for $100. His Academy is listed at $150 but has been listed for over a month. If it is still available, the seller might be willing to take less.2 points

Good evening my friends here at Spinnin Vinyl......... Here is a little story for you....................... Glad to join in tonight from RTM, with a nice nostalgic recording.... Carpenters 'A Song For You' .....(I have most ALL their recordings and still love them today ) This LP you see here, I bought while I was in my senior year = high school. I bought it for a lady friend in school who was also a fellow musician in the concert band as a gift..... Well, we split up and she never got this LP, so, it has been in my collection since 1972 !!! It is STILL like brand new, and SO glad I took great care with my LP's back in those days! Here are some photos I just took for this session...... Cover art with my wine selection for the evening.....2 points

Wow...we were thinking of each other at the same time. LF said just tonight that we need to go see Bohemian Rhapsody at the movies. I told her that Queen was my friend Steve's favorite band. We played the trailer. Great news Steve. We are all pulling for you and your brother. Please keep us posted.2 points

Mike this is my version with Red cover It indicates that it’s unofficial on the info so I have deduced from the info that it’s a bootleg https://www.discogs.com/Amy-Winehouse-At-The-BBC/release/56608691 point
