So far, no sexy nurses or doctors, but the staff is uniformly pleasant and helpful.7 points

Actually, the chicken quesadilla, chips and fruit cup for lunch were quite good. I wouldn't come here just for the food, but it's not bad.6 points

With the Tour de France on its way, with plenty of falls and injuries, does anybody have the vinyl record of Kraftwerk's Tour de France? https://www.discogs.com/Kraftwerk-Tour-De-France/master/78835 A couple of months ago, I held it in my hands in the record shop, but then put it back, and now I so much regret not buying it...3 points

Well, with France out of the way (thank you, Switzerland), I think we, Belgians, are best qualified to win this tournament! Italy is a tough competitor too, though. Well, the ball is round and can roll in any direction, I guess. I just hope for fair matches with no injuries.3 points

SOLD Bought as a dealer demo, It actually stayed while other dacs went away. It sounds very good IMHO. Tube and SS output. Price for established Forum members is 700.00 plus the ride and fees ( Retail on the DAC was 1800.00 ). The dac looks and functions as new. Comes with original double boxing and packing as well as all the accessories as new. I am also including a spare NOS (military grade) Rectifier that I thought sounded much better. It will include the stock output 12au7 tubes. ESTABLISHED FORUM MEMBERS PM ME IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A VERY GOOD DAC AT A VERY LOW PRICE, SO LOW I ONLY WANT TO SELL TO SOMEONE THAT WILL USE IT NOT FLIP IT FOR PROFIT. I have owned at least 1dozen dacs, to include Schiit Bifrost, Bifrost Multibit, Yggy, Centrance, Altmann, Audio Gd NFB, Border Patrol SE, Border Patrol SEI, Wavelength Cosecant, and a few others that do not currently come to mind. This DAC competes or outright outperforms all those mentioned Link to review: https://positive-feedback.com/Issue74/line_magnetic.htm SOLD2 points

Listen to your favorite well recorded music. If they sound good enjoy them. You will instantly know if anything is wrong. No need to fix anything that’s not broke. They should be fine. That’s a wonderful find BTW. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Never say never but we are an ant on a sheet of paper trying to understand height that has never been experienced by us. Einstein added the fourth dimension of time (which we at least comprehend) in his thought experiments and look how far he got. What do you do with eleven dimensions if that is the actual number? I have also heard 26. Someone who sees the world like a Picasso painting might be able to understand this.2 points

I've never noticed date stamps on those, but then again, I never looked for them either. Here is what I have from my notes. "Prior to 1971 Klipsch used surplus PIO types (decades old) that had glass hermetic seals, these type seldom fail. After a short (failed) experiment with Mylar types new PIO types were obtained, but the seals do not look to be glass hermetic, and they fail (after a couple of decades of use)." -- DJK "The older oil caps were WWII military surplus, and were hermetically sealed. Those have a much better life than the ones Klipsch had custom made for them in the mid 70s (and later). I've seen PIO WE oil caps from the 30s still be OK, they're hermetic with glass seals too. PIO Vitamin Q caps are hermetic with glass seals." -- DJK "Prior to 1971 PWK used whatever cheap surplus oil caps he could get his hands on. After that stock was exhausted he went to some cheap Mylar caps. Those were so dreadful he had new oil caps made. Later he moved back to Mylar." -- DJK DJK (Dennis) used to be a Klipsch dealer. I'm looping in @Marvel on the question of whether Dennis knew PK or not. I just don't remember. Whether in an old post or during a phone call, Dennis told me PK had barrels filled with parts on the factory floor, and employees would dig for what they needed. Some built crossovers at home for extra money. He told me all of the capacitors were from surplus left over from the war. "Surplus" would be NOS in this context - not old used stuff.2 points

Most postings get to say "Sold" at some point but I get to post "Bought". After an eighteen month search I have finally secured the elusive NBS. Was originally @mmoxley's posted somewhere in this forum. I appreciate the opportunity to mate this with the VRD's I secured in 2019. Unfortunately it will be a bit before I can get the setup installed but I couldn't pass when the opportunity came up.2 points

Add a very thin gasket material to the rear panel where it contacts the cabinet Available from Parts Express. https://www.parts-express.com/Speaker-Gasketing-Tape-1-8-x-1-2-x-50-ft.-Roll-260-542 Order some midrange driver to horn gaskets from Crites and remove the old gaskets https://critesspeakers.com/prices-other_stuff.html Loosen and retighten all screws on the crossover barrier strips Check all screws on the tweeter, midrange and (especially) woofer connections to the cabinet. Recommend you replace the old capacitors with new from Crites or other sources such as Parts Express. Heresy crossovers are very easy. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help. You can PM me if you wish.2 points

If they sound good to you, no point in going into the speaker period. Eventually, when you have a good understanding of things, then is the time. 6 months, 5 years, plus. Thanks!2 points

I was up at 2:30, no clouds beautiful stars out. Sunrise was spectacular over channel to San Juan island, mount Baker was in relief. No wind. Then about 4:30 cool air started to arrive. We are at 17 whereas last 3 days we were already at 28 or so by now. Thank goodness maybe today will be much cooler.2 points

I have 2xLPs Radioactivity that I bought recently, but not Tour de France, too bad. For many their best LP is The Man-Machine, but they're all awesome. Do you know the German duo NEU! it was the rhythm section of the beginning of the group Kraftwerk: I recommend the first disc of 1971: NEU! Kraftwerk is a band that I have known since 1975, I have the 45T Radioactivity of the time at the top among others. Hey @MeloManiac I have lots of Belgian records, I'll have to put one or two for you soon to support the team2 points

Hi everyone, To stay in the general theme of vinyls and a little football (soccer for US) at the moment, and especially because I am not resentful today 🥵😁 https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-30-Jahre-Jazz-Made-In-Switzerland-1935-1965/release/11369027 Notice the real "Made in Switzerland" engraved on the black part2 points

our weather is remarkable normal. Early monsoon. A collective sigh of relief from everyone here. It hasn't rained during the summer in two years. 70` this AM. R/H is up. Dew point in the 50's.... Temp will top out at 95`.2 points

fell out early last night. Woke feeling good. It's just 5AM and I am wanting to be a bad neighbor... I feel less at liberty to crank the stereo here over our other place. Even though we were right downtown, we had a lot more space around us..... No neighbors. The store, cemetery, park.....about 10 acres between us and the nearest residence.... and I still fielded questions like "Did you hear music at 6 this AM?"... "No. Couldn't hear it over my stereo"... well before I got the LaScalas2 points
