Have a new online supplyer since today , that´s why I wasn´t here in the last few days. Weather is sunny dry and cold around 32 F max. but that´s better than the warmer rainy misty cloudy grey days we had last week. Well ,I´m still busy with some design works in my apartment , re-structured my Vinyl and CD Collection , that was a lot of work as well, haven´t counted them , makes no sense , not quantity matters, it´s the music that matters. See you !4 points

50's now and heading down next week Robin Hood must have put some more out in the street at some point. Heard the vac truck out front for a few minutes. I'm done cause they quit picking up 1 December. Threw a ham down for the oldest and her gaggle today. That worked pretty well. Leftovers for the game Saturday then a big pot of bean soup next week. Both of the grands will be here with bells on for that.3 points

Aerosmith's "Rocks" did it to me the year it came out... think "Cat Scratch Fever" did it the year earlier too! * I was 6 when that record came out, didn't know about Crimson until the 80s2 points

You can use it with any device that has a 3.5mm “headphone” output.2 points

I have the RP160s and can’t for the life of me figure out how I got them new for $250. They go head to head with my old RF Towers until the volume gets really loud and the bass gets heavy. Amazing value. I also have Cornwall IVs and KLF 20s but if these were the only speakers I could buy, life would be just fine. Hell, maybe better because then I couldn’t obsess so much.2 points

As Shakeydeal said. They don’t go low, but something about the bass they produce is just perfect. I’ve been through pretty much every speaker Klipsch has made and keep coming back to La Scala’s.2 points

We all need saintly wives! My first wife (30+ yrs) loved to read and loved classical music. She put up with me having guitars out, mic cables strung through the house, tape deck and mixers and musicians in and out. My current wife (we've passed the 13 yr mark) is also saintly but totally different. She was a school teacher and has different interests. She puts up with my music passion, which hasn't slowed down much.1 point

For theater you want the biggest and best center you can fit / afford as roughly 60% of the sound comes from it typical advice is a matching LCR (left center right) the smaller centers are always a comprise usually due to space constraints so in your case if you cannot fit a third 8000f I'd go with the 504c1 point

I'm absolutely agree with your thought, that the RP is better then R line. My problem is the budget concern, the RP-280F is asking CAD $1000-1100 average, and the RP-8000II is asking CAD $1500-1700 average in the market. The RF-82II, I thought, should be somewhere around CAD $400, but asking around CAD $600. It's a little too much. Don't feel comfortable. I'm thinking to have one for now, and keep looking to find a ideal RP-280F.1 point

The CDT series will be timbre matched the best to your front speakers. If you do those, I’d recommend the R-5800 as your side surrounds.1 point

As long as you don’t hear distortion you’ll be fine. That said, I was never happy with how the 805 I used to have sounded for 2 channel. It’s definitely built for theater use.1 point

Welcome to the forum. Lascalas are great, no doubt. I'm not sure if you've done your homework on this yet, but you will hear some people tell you they have no bass. Of course that's a huge exaggeration. They don't go very low, but the bass they have is top notch. Very good with kick drums and bass guitar. Don't expect much below 50 hz, but on some things you'd never know if you didn't measure. Anyway, welcome to the forum and good luck with your search.1 point

Good old Brick and mortar, local store. Official Mobile Fidelity distributor has more freedom in calculation of discounts, and that is why I got a good deal. But only one machine in silver, and I grabbed it 🙂1 point

There's no need to overthink things. Now that you've got your La Scalas in place, take some time to get accustomed to their sound, before making any changes. If and when you do make any changes, you want to improve the sound, not just change it. To be sure of that, you need to be really familiar with the sound of your Scalas as they are. Happy listening!1 point

lasagna is in the oven. I will survive until T'day I'm half afraid to go outside today. It is a bit on the breezy side. If there were leaves to rake ... they're gone. So are the garbage cans and you might want to tie down the VW. I see the cats have their claws out, trying to keep a grip on the ground...1 point

Got a lil start of a Thanksgiving cactus a year ago and I think it likes it's spot a lot. lol It's not rocket science is it @grasshopper? Just a lil water and love. It works on all kinds of plants. 😂 I think the bulk of it's finally gone here in Duckburg. Robin Hood finally got his place done again yesterday while I was out running. Things looked pretty good here on Sunday and the rain came in overnight Still a lot up in the trees at his place so maybe another trip around the barn for me and maybe not The down side is they won't p;ick them up in the spring. Yea, they all blow my way! That was Sunday morning. Didn't want to be Mr Obvious outside takin pics w/my cell so hid behing my lil Chinese maple tree. lol No dogs were involved in the taking of this photo. Carry on. I quit! Back to abby normal1 point

I think my comment may have been a bit ambiguous. When I said "omit", I meant "overlook", in the sense of "that price estimate might be overlooking the costs of R&D", suggesting that the final costs of the members of the new horn sub family might have to be higher than your estimate. Of course, these are all guesses. Even Roy, who knows the actual numbers involved, probably won't know the final costs, and thus prices, until next year. I guess.1 point

True. I just find amusing the reverence for the 1970s gear that has developed on some of the audio forums. (Not necessarily this one -- I haven't really paid attention, other than to chuckle a bit when I see it.)1 point
