  2. https://www.discogs.com/release/247822-Michael-Jackson-Bad His last good album IMHO, before switching to "saving the world god-mode"... Was it 1988? We saw him here in Berlin, infront of the Reichstag. Paul Young sang as warm-up, but people were impatient to see Michael and booed all the time... Poor Paul, it was undeserved.

  3. 1988 Elektra reissue Exceptional sound on this Elektra reissue. Defined, rich with supreme clarity and smooth delivery. Super punchy, realistic drums you can feel and beautiful midrange tones make the guitar work really cut through. Vocals are lush and intimate and the bass is profound. I’m very impressed with the sound on this 80s reissue. Quite a stellar pressing, no flaws to speak of. I definitely recommend this pressing. Comment from Discogs so well described this pressing I had to copy it.

  7. Crisis situation with a friend at work this week. He bent the cantilever on his Clearaudio Virtuoso cartridge. It's not fixable 😬. All is not lost though. He picked up a new Sumiko MC cartridge 😄. I gave him a hug and said my prayers are with you!

  13. Ours gave up the ghost a month ago and we have been doing them by hand. Nice timing for this thread as we are looking at a new one as well. I can pretty much guaranty my wife wouldn't consider letting me get this model. Probably going to be LG or Samsung.

  16. I'm glad I found this thread... I just bought a pair of HII's but I just assumed they were 8 ohm (I know, rookie mistake) and it turns out they are 4 ohm... time to change where I have them connected to my tube amp....

  17. Good evening friends, wasn´t here for while as I have seriouse online issues here . The district where I´m living gets a brand new fiberoptic cable net for internet applications. So far there isn´t anyone online here , except the users having a mobile hotspot on their smartphone . That´s my connection I´m using that at the moment to be online . It isn´t that fast and threads take a lot of time to be loaded . Takes a while till all works are finished here . Today I was in the mood to spin some records .... Jimmy Page & Robert Plant " No Quarter " recorded in Marakech and London in 1994, didn´t spun that for a couple of years than Queen II followed by Pink Floyd " Animals " finally Manfred Manns Earth Band " Solar Fire "

  18. Blah, I'm on strike. Dropped 20# just by staying outta the grocery store. Saw the Doc last week and he said how'd you lose 23 # in 3 months. Told him I got smart and realized I didn't need all the crap in the grocery stores. He laffed and I countered with, "Ya know what? I've known you and your wife my entire life and I've NEVER seen you in any grocery store." He got a laff outta that. Then told me everything looked much better so there's that. My old butt isn't goin anywhere yet.

  21. Hello all, I am building a room above my garage (which is attached to my house) that is going to be 22x23. I am planning on putting a pair of klipschorns in the corners (outside wall away from the rest of the house). The ceilings are 9' for four feet around the edge of the room and they extend to 10' in the middle. This room partially sits over our bedroom as well (just a little) How do I best dampen the sound from traveling along the joists and walls to the rest of the house? I am planning on double studding the wall(s) that the K horns are using to help with bass extension. Would insulating with sound damping insulation hurt the bass. I'm thinking thick insulation between the first and second floor? Thank you so much for your thoughts.

  22. I got my first pair of Klipsch's about 9 months ago and I love them. They are all wood HIPs, with rounded corners and a cherry wood finish with silver metal woofer grills. I've seen lots of photos of HIP's but none that look quite like these, they look like they'd be at home in a bar or a burlesque stage. I love them but obviously can't compare them to any other Heresy's as I've never owned any others. The serial #s are 3446 and 3447. Any info on the manufacture date and where they originally sold would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  27. @Tarheel, Chuckie if you're talking to me about my rig, vinyl, signed stuff and things with value both girls know what's here and what's locked up at other places. They could each buy Lambo's if they sold it @ auctions. Yea, dad's outta the box but he's always spot on. So I laff and take the heat they throw at me. Kids today aren't anything like we were. Wild! Items from people that were very close to me won't ever be sold. Offed a couple things once and a big time dude pretty much laffed at me. Then he saw pics I'd sent him and was my best friend. So I took it out on his commission cause he just HAD to sell them. Blah. World's full of morons and I ain't dead yet. Why? Ya wanna buy sumpin? 😂😂😂 Ouch, will you quit stickin pins in that lil doll you have w/my name on it? Ouch. QUIT IT! 😂

  28. Absolutely. We have discussed all of these issues at great length. I will gradually liquidate a lot of my toys as I get older, as I don't want to leave a huge mess. Plus, I don't want someone else playing their music on my Jubilee's! 🤣

  30. My Heresy IVs are not bright at all in my room. They even tend to be dark. I contend they do not *need* a subwoofer as only the low E and F of the bass is down from the rest, but not so much that you would think it was a deficiency instead of being recorded that way. You will miss the lowest notes of of a 5-string, but those are rare outside Jazz. I recommend you look at any of the Reference Premier Subs.

  31. Only read about the first half page then skipped ahead to see this post my first thought was to add a sub or two a stereo pair plus an LFE if you want to get extreme that should give you plenty of balance let the Heresys do their thing above 50hz without straining to get more or just trade them in for the forte iv which are similar footprint with lots of good strong bass

  41. I was told by the dealer that by adding a Denon POA 5200 to my Denon AVR5700, that I could achieve 7.1 sound in my home theater. However, I have no idea how to set it up and test the tones on all 7 channels. As far as I can tell the POA 5200 will just amplify my output but don't I still need another input source to get the 2 extra channels? Is that like a decoder or another AV receiver or something? Can someone please help and if so it's the speaker wires I'm most concerned about. The POA5200 has 2 sets of leads and my AVR5700 has 5.1 but 2 sets of leads for surrounds (same channel A&. So which pieces of the 7.1 do I connect to the AVR5700 and which to the POA5200? Thanks.

  42. I'm sorry that's what I meant to say. DC. Like a regular fan you plug in the wall. The smallest ones at wal-Mart or K-mart are like 8 inches. I need something like half that. Preferably a clip on so I can clip it to the leg on my entertainment rack.

  43. I can't figure this out but hopefully one of you can help me. Every once in a while maybe once or twice a month I come home from work and my Denon 5700 is powered up for no particular reason. I have it plugged into a surge protector power strip and nobody else has a key to my house so I know there is nobody else using my stereo. Does anybody have any clue why my receiver mysteriously turns itself on? I can't link it to a particular time either (i.e. storms or lightening). It seems totally random. Once I find out why, how do I fix it? In other words if it turns on itself how can I get it to turn off itself? Some kind of timer perhaps? Thanks.

  44. What really matters is what looks good to you. If you can get them side by side in the showroom that's a good comparison. A lot of these plasma's aren't even made by the name on the set. Panasonic has been making them the longest and they have one of the best screens out there, but where the name changes are the electronics in the set (audio, video jacks, speakers, etc...) Many (not all) plasma displays themselves will be Panasonic. I recently looked at the Panasonic 50" and toshiba 50". Same tv screen, different name on the set. Sony is a rip off and their plasma's are far inferior to Panasonic, Toshiba, B&O, Elite, Fujitsu. They are all better than the Sony. I saw a sony and it was like looking through clouds compared to the brands listed above I demoed. the new 60" fujitsu is amazing if you have the $25,000 to blow on it.

  45. Can somebody explain the difference between the three above? I have a Denon AVR5700 that can run 8.1 with external sources but I don't know how or what that means. The manual mentions a decoder but that's it. Do I need more receivers, amps or what? Furthermore what is the definition on anything above 5.1? I thought 6.1 was a center channel in the back. Some say it's front effect speakers between the center and mains. Any other opinions out there? Once that's decided can someone tell me what 7.1 or even 8.1 is? I think Onkyo even has a 9.1 right now if I'm not mistaken. Anyhow, what stemmed this whole debacle was my purchase of a second KLF C7 center to use in my center rear. Question is....HOW? I am currently running 5.1 with two sets of surrounds. 2 in back and 2 on the side. I have no more speaker terminals on my Denon to run effects or another rear center. What do I do next? Any help out there? Thanks.

  46. You also have to watch for shielding. If I put my KLF 30's too close to the set the magnets distort my color TV. I also have them set about 10 to 12 feet apart and i'm pleased with the sounds.
