  1. I have a rural place near Henderson NC. The only available close to decent internet is through US Cellular. I have a cellular modem/router and can stream video just fine. However they do have data limits on the plans and it can get expensive.
  2. Loved the sound of 300Bs on my Klipschorns!
  3. Don't overlook Ashly processors. I have a Xilica and several Ashly Protea units. The Xilica is the best, but the Ashly units are quite good as well but not as tweak-able. There are also plenty of the Ashly units on the used market, Xilicas can be hard to find used and cost a lot more.
  4. Crown and QSC both make 4 and 8 channel amps.
  5. Cheap tube amps are just that. Look around, learn what you can, then shop on the used market for a well built one. However, if it was my money, Cornwalls!
  6. I use Audessy on my 2 channel K-horn with horn sub setup. However prior to running it I used REW to EQ and time align. In my experience Audessy and the rest are good at integrating multi channel systems and making small EQ changes, not so much with challenging rooms.
  7. I use Sony blu-ray players as a transport, and my Yamaha and Integra pre/pros to decode. Sounds great!
  8. The Integra, though the SMSL sounds very good as well. The Benchmark may be showings its age but still more natural sounding than the Topping.
  9. I bought the non MQA D90 last fall when I found a decent deal on one. Spent some time with my wife directly comparing it to the built in dac in our Integra DHC 80.3 as well as an old Benchmark DAC and a relatively inexpensive SMSL dac. The D90 came in last place and was returned. I was quite surprised given all the glowing reviews but my violinist wife was rather rude about its shortcomings. 🤣
  10. Always hard to tell until you do it. It really helped my Cornwalls but they were built 20 years before your Forte II. I have a Forte as a center channel between the Cornwalls and have not done anything to it, it still sounds just fine. I'm betting yours are fine unless the speakers were stored somewhere electronically unfriendly. YMMV
  11. These really are a bargain price for a more than decent sub. I own 2 F20 horn subs and a tuba table. Comparing them to the 12SW is like comparing Jubes to the KG series. However in the right setup these do a great job!
  12. Exchanged messages with him and he seems knowledgeable about what he has. However given the sudden increase in price I would say "buyer beware".
  13. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/480609092929021/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined 2 pair available, $1,200 a pair. Super tempted but no space left in the house.
  14. I also contacted him but you have first dibs. Let me know if you want to go in on one each.
  15. Yes, they would be fantastic. Please buy them soon or I will.
  16. I have a pair of 4 channel QSC amps (CX254 and DCA 1644) and can recommend them without hesitation. I also use Crown amps in my system but have not heard any of the CTS series.
  17. Decent sub at a killer price!
  18. I have a couple of R-12SW that I bought for my summer rural place place for only $169 each at Costco. I think they do a great job considering the price. Things occasionally go "missing" there so at that price I can deal with it.
  19. I had many dealings with him over the years and he was always quick to respond and very helpful. He will be missed. RIP
  20. I have a pair of bi-ampable Crites A crossovers that I am going to list in the Garage Sale section soon. PM me if interested.
  21. I've always loved the look and sound of that generation of Yamaha gear. I used to have a rather minty CR-2020 running my Klipschorns, I was stupid (but in need of the money at the time) and sold it.
  22. With all due deference... I come to this forum for interesting opinions and some excellent information. I do not come here for drama. I do not like seeing someone who is new seeming subjected to abuse (esp. from someone like "Chief Bonehead"). I really enjoy my Klipsch speakers. I also enjoy playing with older models and trying to wring the best possible sound that I can from them. My 1976 Klispchorns have large EV horns and DH1A drivers in place of the original mid horn/drivers. I now have them time aligned using and Ashly unit as well. They are mine. They are Klispchorns. I do not need anyone's permission to call them that.
  23. Just approached by a scammer on this forum: New member "Samson269" sent me the following message: "Well if u are still interested in getting Xilica processorXilica processor I have a friend who can help u with that. Not sure if it’s still available but you can try. Here’s his mail michealbenson656@yahoo.comWell if u are still interested in getting I have a friend who can help u with that. Not sure if it’s still available but you can try. Here’s his mail michealbenson656@yahoo.com" A quick Google search on the email address comes up with lots of scammer complaints
  24. Remember since the LaScala bass is a horn, it’s low range is limited by the length of the horn (think tuba vs trumpet). You can put any driver in you want to but it does not change that basic fact. You can change the output but not the range. The LaScala needs a good sub and with that rivals the longer Klipschorn with the added benefit of not requiring corners.
