Tarheel
And speaking of food.....a friend told me the original Brunswick Stew was made with Squirrel meat😋 Using my best Forrest Gump accent "that's all I've got to say about that". 2 1

billybob
Fried mustard green also.... Frost them in freezer first. Then turnip Then collards. Really depends on the cook. Maybe a little bit of OTs hot Sauce. Bacon goes good as seasoning. Ham and black eyes with basmati, cranberry maybe some greens cornbread and punkin pie. Happy New Year feast... tradition. Drinking a cup... Cheers!
JohnJ
Tried all of those greens, really only like the turnip greens. And dried blackeyes instead of from a can, yep even just a hambone and peppers is the only way to go. I like tomato salsa on mine. Close to the same line of Southern fare, have any of y'all ever been close to chitlins cooking all day? Me neither, we left the apartment after a couple hours and took a road-trip for the weekend.

I tried the “hang a leg off so your foot touches the ground” thing - doesn’t play well on a spinning object vs. a stationary bed. Nearly ripped my leg off but did forget how dizzy I was —

BigStewMan
apparently, I should be banned from the laundry room in addition to the kitchen. I may have nearly produced chloramine gas. had a cleaning rag dripping with Mr. Clean All-Purpose cleaner (ammonia) and threw it in the washer with my clothes. not thinking, I added some Clorox bleach. It's been over 45 minutes and no fumes (my brother's room is a few feet from the laundry room and he can't smell any fumes either). There is a vent fan directly above the washer and that was turned on. So, I guess I dodged a bullet this time. I did turn on another fan and open the nearest window. I guess if I'd truly made chloramine gas that we'd have either died or noticed the toxic smell by now. 2

In Toronto, there have been a few close calls involving the cleaning staff at public schools, so ammonia is now banned from use by cleaning/custodial staff. It's way too easy for an untrained/uneducated person to accidentally mix up a cleaning potion that emits deadly gas.

Here's an amusing competition, between a speed-eating human and a grizzly bear. What makes me laugh is how the guy looks nervously at the bear, maybe wondering if he'll be the bear's dessert after the hot dogs run out. Pardon the lo res. 1
