We almost lost another forum member to the grim reaper, me

Closest I have ever come to dying, March 14th I went home from work after 2 hours not feeling well. Turned out I had the flu and worst I've ever had it, the flu turned into pneumonia and put me in the hospital for 8 days March 24th through April 1st. I was on oxygen and in sad shape, I spent a week after that at my sister's while she took great care of me feeding me and keeping me off my feet and well taken care of. Now back home as of yesterday April 7th, still a little weak but feeling stronger everyday.

I have never been one to be sick, I don't think I have been in the hospital since I was born other than to visit others. I just turned 58 on March 8th, I still act and have felt more like 40 or even younger.

This really sucked!

This is me still a long haired hippy :)

You were actually supposed to just get close enough to the "Other side" for God you hand you your Best Mullet on Earth award before sending you back...

I don't have a mullet, my hair is equally long front and back but combed back and usually in a pony tail to midway down my back

Nice! I honestly didnt mean any offense. I have a way of using humor to deal with rough situations and sometimes it comes off badly and dark when written. I am glad you are doing better though, I wonder if you caught the same bug my Dad's wife got earlier this year as they live in the OC too. She actually got so dehydrated that she went into septic shock and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Welcome back.  I'd suspect this perhaps gives you some new appreciations?

Being ill is certainly no fun.

So you're still acting & feeling like 40 eh?

My wife says I'm acting like I'm 12... She usually tells me that in a fit of anger.  Do you think she's trying to flatter me?

maybe talk to your Dr about a shot.

Must of gotten at least 20 shots while in the hospital some even in my stomach, blood pressure and temperature checked about every 3 hours even though it was always good.pills galore Tamiflu, Potassium supplements and others. electrical cables and monitors all over my chest at all times, IV in one hand and always on several different oxygen masks that were as uncomfortable as can be, two kat scans, x rays every morning about 4 AM, weighed every morning at about 6 AM they must have taken about 1/2 a quart of blood from me everyday though none was ever put back in. Nurses or doctors doing something to me about every 2 hrs. Absolutely NO SLEEP. Only good thing I had about 30 very cute & sexy little nurses all in their 20's while I as in the hospital. I had to ask and be escorted to the bathroom every time.
