I'm glad the weather guy is reporting from a park so we would believe it's really raining with high winds.

Seems that is the case every time there is bad weather down south. I remember it during Katrina too.

Good chance we won't hear from you for a while or a few days my friend much past this post given the storms position and movement given my own experience down there with a lesser storm, Ike. You're a seasoned salt and coastie and I am sure you will be fine. Dave
wvu80
The news at 5am Sat morning is showing a lot of churning water, some downed power poles, but I have to say for as much high wind and driving rain as there is, things look remarkably solid. Wardsweb
For all the local San Antonio weather hype, I didn't start getting any rain until the last hour. I'll see what the day brings.
wvu80
Harv downgraded to a Cat 1 storm. I don't mean to minimize things, hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people have been displaced, I saw where 200,000 homes are without electric right now. It's a major disaster that will have an estimated 40 billion worth of damage. Let's just hope there is no loss of life.

pzannucci
Austin area is now getting drenched from the northern outer bands. I think we are going to get some significant water that the ground isn't going to know what to do with. From the looks of the guesstimates and the way it is coming down on the north side, 20" may be right. At least we are, so far, only getting gusts in the mid 40mph range

CECAA850
Non event so far here in Beaumont. Rain occasionally and a little breeze. All the best to Mike in Corpus. Looks like he was 30 or 40 miles from the center of a cat 4. No fun.
