  4. Morning all BUSY weekend.....Saturday started off a bit wet...but we had 127 cars parked by 9am at my parents Open House. Had people showing up starting at 5am. Overall we estimate they had over 400 people at the show. Sold a TON of product and had a really great time. They took yesterday off and treated us to a local favorite The Metro Diner (Has been on Diners, Drive-In and Dives). After that dad and I sat stunned as we watched the Jaguars beat the Dolphins....had to partake in quite a few beers and a few celebratory Bourbons. Overall GREAT weekend with the family. I'll post a few pics of the setup and crowd soon

  6. someone should have mentioned to HEART to never let me stand in front of an open mic…perhaps, they already knew and only let me because the audience hadn’t arrived yet. This is about one hour before the show. One for the drummers in the crowd... oh yes…photo of the set list.

  7. Welcome to the forum, AliRashdan. I love having people from all over the world post here, as this is a truly international community. I know when people first start posting they are looking for advice or some information, but if you stick around for a while, I promise you someone else will be coming here for advice, and you will be helpful to them. You are on the leading edge of being able to enjoy the newest Klipsch speakers. What do you prefer to be called? My name is on every post but it is grayed out somewhat so people miss it sometimes, I am Dave. I'm curious, how did you find Klipsch speakers in Cairo? How did you come to know these were the speakers you were looking for?

  9. Hadn't heard of that, sounds good. Well, it's not exactly high end coffee, but I kind of like it, has a strong earthy quality. It's quite inexpensive, comes in a vacuum sealed can or vacuum pouches that look like bricks. I've seen it in just about every grocery store I've been in all over the country, so you should be able to find it if you want to try it.

  13. Good afternoon everyone..... MKP, I love that story about your dinner experience and also about your favorite 'server' as we foodies in the NE call them AND they like to be called... Sounds like a great guy too ! Nice shed there Duder! Ward, sounds like a fun project with your tape transfers... Wished you lived closer to me so we could enjoy a M.A.D. session here, would love to get your take on my hybrid 'vintage' system..... We had our show at the local fair today, fun and relaxing, great crowd, two hours straight through, no intermission.... Came home around 3pm. too tired to unload the gear from the truck, so, I just came in and decided to fire up he audio and listen to some new recordings.... Got Spotify premium on the laptop, HDMI into the DAC then to the new CA pre. Using the iPad as a remote controller for album selection etc... BIG glass of white wine poured into the dtel etched glass, relaxing, getting a nice buzz going listening to this one.... ....Gary

  15. Why bother buying products built here in the USA, (thats if you can still find any) when you can buy something made in Communist China for a fraction of the price. Quality stuff is still expensive and even more so if its made here but most just take the cheaper way out unfortunately.

  17. Okay, Greg has made some serious progress: Here is the array of speakers that will be in the system, including the Belles I picked up from GZim here on the board: Here is one of the modified La Scala L/R speakers (with vented bass bins); note that a piece of wood is acting as the "riser" for the mid-horn, until Greg has a chance to finish that: And here is a close-up of that mid-horn and tweeter: More to follow!

  19. It's an espresso grind, so you "could" run it through a machine...however, I use a single cup pour over, or my AeroPress, or most commonly my Chemex pour over. The AeroPress makes a cup that is very close to an espresso shot or two, and I usually combine that with some from my Chemex. Again, I like my coffee quite strong.

  20. Do you brew it like coffee or run it through an espresso machine?

  32. schu its not that i love it so muc. ill tell you my though process behind it. when i had the dual pb-13 ultras upstairs. that was plenty. then i moved to concrete and slightly bigger room. they were no longer enough. switched to the 4 18's and have been happier and satisfied. but we are in a rental and I'm somehow lucky with room dimensions cause i get a ton of room gain. i have a few buddies with bigger rooms and they all have 6-8 subs to have the same bass i get from 4. so my thought has been for quite some time once i move IF i have a bigger room to keep the same bass i have now id have to have more subs. well them being discontinued only rushed the process. so i placed the order for 4 more as that is all i can fit up front. but then i have been to a few buddies houses that have a single 18 firing right in the back of the main seat and its sweet. much cooler than transducers. so i thought one more for the back but since i have one extra inuke 3000 i figured on per side will be perfect with the liters set on the wattage. then when i move ill have 10 sealed 18's. i hope to be able to build a riser with 4 18's in it to fire into the front row plus shake the riser for the back row. then 4 sealed up front. then on top of that i want two klipsch kpt-684's. ill cut all sealed subs off at 40z. the two cinema subs will take from 40-80. and then the mains will take care of everything else. hope you followed all that lol

  33. So you have never experienced playing Eno's music for airports on vinyl played at the lowest speed your turn table would play. That was how we did it for ultimate relaxation.

  34. Fully agree, jo56. 100.00 class D amp on high efficiency speakers is, IMHO, equal to or superior to any SS amp at any price. Obviously others mileage will vary. That's fine. However, for those of us who don't listen to dollar signs it's a wonderful time! Dave

  40. Worked on filling the edges of the bass bin today. Got to try my hand at using bondo to rebuild corners. Eight of them to be exact. Here's my very first hand fabricated corner: Sort of proud of myself. Here's the front. I filled all the chips and sanded everything. Turned out better than I thought possible. I'm picking up the paint tomorrow on my way home from work. Part Express is on the way home. More or less. Mark

  46. Welcome to the forum, great to see a full Klipsch HT setup assembled from the start. Well done. I might offer up one change for your consideration. If you can swing the difference in cost, an option you might want to consider the RP-280FA Tower with Atmos Speaker (vs the non-Atmos RP-280F Tower). The 280 "FA" is essentially the same as the 280 "F" version, but it already has the integrated ATMOS speaker built into the tower. The Atmos (elevation) speaker with the 280FA has a 6.5" driver... vs a smaller 4" driver with the RP-140SA (add-on module). Jay L (who designed & engineered) both speakers noted that the 280FA has more of a presence that the stand alone RP-140SA. Since you are starting fresh, the RP-280FA will/should have more of an impact up front, vs adding a pair of the RP-140SA later. However, depending on your room size, the RP-140SA could still fit in & work perfectly in your space. I actually have 4 (2 pairs) of the RP-140SA's in my Atmos HT set up & they perform very well. Good stuff. The 135wpc x 9ch Pioneer Elite SC-85 will be great choice to drive a 5.1.4 Atmos HT. Congrats !!

  47. Big Fan of Lou Harrison, Conlon Nancarrow and more recently Steven Reich... this is an incredible performance by Rob Kovacs of Steven Reichs piece called "Phase". it really shouldn't be played by a single person because of it's beautiful complexities... but Kovacs was able to do it.

  48. I attended a 3 day festival/concert in August and I can say I feel the same way. Last year it was Las Vegas for a a few concerts at the MGM Grand, same experience, the year before that was Atlantic City with the same outcome. Every year I say I will never spend a lot of money to go to a concert because my time is usually ruined by the people around me. All of these self-entitled people think that they own the place or something. Don't get me started on people who don't know how to drive on their phones. The ignorance of the general population has seem to boom in the past decade, it's like people are exponentially getting worse. I think it might stem from the capitalistic nature of our society and the lack of ethics; i.e. Screw everyone else as long as I get what I want attitude.
