May be on to something. Someone made some killer chicken and pastry....my favorite. Cold here this morning but we have sun so I'm good. Wore gloves for the first time to walk the Jakester. He is leaving food in his bowl....don't know what's up with that. Going to see the new Julia Roberts, Nicole Kiddman movie this afternoon with LF. That's about it for now. Cheers Ladies and Gents

  6. Wards - you might want to check out JET dust collection products. Reasonably priced, durable and spares are easily sourced. We actually provided them on multi-million $$$ paper converting equipment over ultra high priced units that would have shipped with our German manufactured equipment. Production customers loved 'em.

  9. I wouldn't, but I will say I have had my share of living in KY. We use to visit every summer as a child for two week periods. We even attempted to move there one year, but we just couldn't hang. So back to good old NE, that's Nebraska not New England. Short week this week, on Wenesday we are smoking a turkey at work and having a pot luck. There won't be much getting done, the next two days should be fairly easy.

  15. Nothing as of yet, but I do plan on running my table saw, compound miter saw, router, and sanding down draft. It is fairly large, but I got a good deal on it. The bag is an upgrade from the 30 micron to a 10 micron. I have stood across the room and thrown objects in it as it was running, I will say it works pretty good, better than a shop vac. Check around sometimes there are good deals to be had. I once thought that one of those from Harbor Freight, that mount on the wall would work. But like I said my buddy sold that to me at a good deal.

  17. Good mornin' gang. Slight change of plans here ... had to postpone holiday side trip. Woke up yesterday feeling crappy and finally decided I couldn't risk spreading anything to little kids, etc. so will wait a few days and reschedule. Feeling much better already, of course, but at least I can help Better Half Unit get ready for the family on Thursday. Spent most of yesterday reading, cleaning up my disgraceful looking den/office and watching the Peyton-less Broncos pull off a great win. Still debating whether to attempt a turkey smoking outdoors with cold, crummy weather predicted. Will likely do 2+ hours on the smoker then off to the oven to finish. Almost wish I'd bought a Green Egg smoker instead of my oversize Weber on steroids. Oh well, we'll perservere. Cheers to all.

  22. I just had to post something about the special pricing going on for the RP-260F and RP-280F. Just think, $700 for a pair of the former, and $838 for a pair of the latter. Combine a pair of either of those with a nice DIY SET for around $300 in parts, and throw in a good quality CD player (like the Sony CDP-CE500 changer which can be gotten for less than $100. I have one and think it sounds wonderful.), and you can have a system which will offer sound quality that is practically off the charts. I can't imagine another type of system costing only $1100-$1200 which could even remotely touch the sound quality. When I look at what people are spending on boutique speakers and horrible sounding SS equipment it really drives home the point. Thank you for letting me get that off of my mind! Maynard

  25. Dave, with respect; he can't use his public web site to insult people and make accusations without some backlash. The only "pissing contest" is between me and Crites as to which is actually building "original sounding" crossovers. :-) All of the Klipsch networks for Heritage sound pretty different from one another. Comparing the Type AA with the Atlas version of the K-55 to something like the AK-3/AL-3 with the EV version of the K-55 -- is a real eye opener. Throw a Universal or SuperX into the mix, and it gets even weirder. ALK Gentle Slopes and ESNs? Might as well toss in the new network John Warren would like for me to build. I once thought about building and offering the Klipsch AK-4, but didn't think I could build a version to my satisfaction that people would be willing to pay for. I'm both customer and builder, and the DIY component of this has taught me a lot. The most obvious is that I have clear preferences, no surprise there. So how did I come about these preferences? I guess everyone knows that both Bob and myself prefer the Type A. Everyone did know that, right? How can that be? We build completely different and have completely different listening rooms too! Because there were so many different networks and ways to build them, I had built a matrix in an excel spreadsheet, with notes - that I would use when I spoke to customers. There was a time when I wouldn't think twice about sending someone to Bob or Al if I thought something they sold would work out better than anything I could offer. It's not easy being both friend and competitor. Craig thought I was an idiot for maintaining these personal relationships, and felt I should disassociate myself from them. In spite of the current friction, I don't regret any of it. Bob and me have our differences, but we know each other very well, and spend a fair amount of time praying for each other and our families. DJK is not a competitor, but Dennis is a kindred spirit - understanding and providing explanations for why I (and others) hear the things we do. Dennis, like John - is also very strong technically. Something that IS sad is that because of the way this community deals with the subjective side of things, Dennis more times than not takes a lot of great information to the other forums he frequents. I actually have to follow him around to find the gems he's tossing around. Then there is John, who speaks in a language I don't -- mathematics. It's a wall, but he builds doors for me. He's a very cool dude. I'm in the process of re-establishing my relationship with Dave Harris. Dave is in the middle, and I feel so bad for him. All he wants is peace and to have things the way they used to be. I hear you Dave, and if I could wind back the clock, I would. If I thought Al would take a call from me without shouting me down, I'd probably risk it. These started out as professional relationships because I had so much to learn, but then they became personal as well. Because of the business aspect, the personal relationships carry with them a certain amount of risk, but most of us don't care. We actually trust each other, and make every effort not to trample on each other. These personal relationships are important to me -- this hobby would be flat out boring without them. So now we have a bit of drama. I guess it was inevitable. So, relationships and drama aside, what everyone really wants to know is who sells the best sounding networks. I mean c'mon, there must be almost fifty different versions of these things, right? So, who's interested in talking about that?

  28. Well, I took the plunge. I went to the camera shop and the full sized SLR's are just too bulky for my liking. I picked up the Canon SL-1 and thought it felt great in my hands. I went home and did more research and found that Canon was selling refurbished SL-1's with the 18-55mm lens kit for $250 so I ordered one up. That lens gets good reviews but it is a pretty long lens for point and shoot so I ordered a smaller, "nifty fifty" as they're referred to, suppose to be an excellent lens as well. I added a car charger for the battery packs along with three extra batteries and two Sandisk Extreme 32gb SD cards. All in all camera was $275 after tax, 50mm lens was $110, charger w/ 3 batteries $25 and 2 SD cards $45 totaling about $450 out the door. My budget was $500 but I still need a few things like a carrying case and lens caps / filters and such. Can't wait to try this sucker out!! http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/eos-sl1-18-55-is-stm-lens-kit-refurbished?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=DSAs&utm_content=DSAs&utm_campaign=DSAs&cm_mmc=GA-_-CanonOnlineStore-_-151030PLA-_-DSAs http://www.ebay.com/itm/391312811856?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/SanDisk-SDHC-16GB-32GB-64GB-SDXC-Extreme-90MB-SD-UHS-I-U3-4K-C10-Flash-Card-LOT-/321789459461?var=&hash=item4aec257c05:m:muYmY5wrk2hnF7WiOl-d0Gw http://www.ebay.com/itm/371130368320?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

A post in this thread? i missed this too. you’d think with all the talk of “warning points” and such, that removal of posts would be accompanied by an explanation--hopefully, it is just a computer malfunction. removal of posts, if intentional, would suggest that the post had crossed a line...so wouldn’t you think the poster would be told about it? Still hoping that there is just a technical malfunction to explain this. if you still check in, even silently sancho, take care of yourself and hope your son’s medical condition is resolved completely. This is my scr erw up, i may indeed type in somethiing, i just forget to "Post", then runoff somewhere else chat on something, come back to said thread, i thought i anserd someone and Whaa-La No Post! 34. If Iowa continues to win, including the B1G Championship game in Indy, they should be in, as they would be undefeated. If MSU or OSU wins the B1G Championship, the Committee will have some discretion as to whether or not the B1G winner is in the playoffs. Given that the only potentially undefeated team at that point would be Clemson, It's difficult to predict which 1 loss teams will be in and which will be out. Michigan could still win the B1G, but, with 2 losses, they have, essentially, no chance at a spot in the playoffs. If Notre Dame has the decency to lose to Stanford next week, the Committee's task will be easier. I predict 1. Clemson. 2. Alabama 3. B1G winner (unless Michigan) 4. Notre Dame.

  35. So how does this workout for the Spartans. Does Iowa have to loose and Michigan have to continue to win to make it. There are so many variables I always get confused. On another note, I am working on third cup while enjoying Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz on vinyl in the craft room, dam this sounds good. If I get this two page paper wrote, I will head to a buddy's house for the Green Bay/Vikings game. This buddy is the one that opened the door for me to the Klipsch world. I was about 19 and had just visited Nebraska Furniture Mart, where I had heard RF-5's. The next day at work I was asking him if he had ever heard of Klipsch. That is when I was invited over to his house for a real demo. I had never heard of the Heritage line until this, as the furniture store was the first time I had ever heard of Klipsch. Anyways, a rack full of NAD with bridged amps, a pair of Cornwalls with Heresies stack on top, and 4 yamaha 15s on the floor. I remember feeling like that guy on the classic Maxwell commercial with all of his close blowing along with my hair blowing. I was hooked, I had made up my mind, I was going to own Klipsch Heritage. I am currently listening to my first pair of Heresies, while my wife is down stairs enjoying our beloved Cornwalls. Awe the Klipsch life is great, even better with coffee, cocktails, cables and good friends. Go Vikings Go, cheers and be well.

  36. Continuing......... The Chorus were up and sounding good. They stayed in the house for some time. The only thing I did was clean them up a bit and put that K-48 woofer in one. A year or so after I got the Chorus I got a set of Chorus II's. The Chorus II's were beat up a bit....right away I took them to a guy that does some speaker work and he fixed them up a good bit....made them look "ok" and got them working good. So when I got my Chorus II's back I thought I would take my Chorus to my shop and I would fix up those busted cabs. I was going to sand them down....put some bondo in the corners and just paint them black. So I removed all the drivers and took those cabs to the shop and started my thing. I worked on them for a good bit... then, like a lot of things I just stopped working on them. They stayed at the shop for well over a two years....just sitting in the corner. I wasn't pressed to get them done...I had my Chorus II's at the house. But every so often I would walk in the one bay and see them sitting there.... I would say to myself " man I gotta get those things done" One day we had a customers car towed in.... it was my man Chad..... Chad had an old 1989 Honda Accord. Chad was the son of a customer that had been coming to the shop for a looong time.... I knew the whole family.... I did my magic on this old Accord and got it fixed up for Chad. The next night Chad and his brother came out to the shop to get the car and pay me... These guys were cool.... we all got along... so at the shop we are just shooting the chitt.. We were in the bay listening to some tunes. They thought my shop system sounded sooo good. At the time my shop system was some Bose 901's hanging in the corners powered by an old Adcom...it was ok for a shop system. I told these guys I got some kick-*** speakers and amps at my house. I told them I got Klipsch speakers... They had no clue.... I took the guys in the bay were my Chorus had been for years now. I wanted just to show them. I was telling them that these things will pound your chest with bass. I was telling them I was alittle pissed at my self for letting them sit here for so long and I have got to get back on them. Chad looks at me and says " I can do them for you".... I was like.....what??..... He said "dude I do all kinds of wood work"...He told me he did all kinds of veneer work... he pulled his phone out and showed me some pics of the things he was working on and some of the things he has done. The pics looked really good. So we talk for a bit on how I wanted them finished. He said no problem.... That night we made an agreement..... he does my speakers and he had no bill at my shop... we shook hands like two men.. Now Chad is a bit younger that me... but he was no kid. He had been coming to my shop since he was a teenager. His dad 1st brought him to my shop when he was around 18 years old. His dad told him you bring you car to Mr. Mark and he'll get ya fixed up. later that week Chad came to the shop and picks up my Chorus speakers. You could tell he was really excited about doing this for me. I think he really knew how well I took care of him and his family. What I didn't know was I would not see these speakers or Chad again for almost four years!!! Now I didn't think I would be getting my cabs back in a week or two.... and I was thinking it might even be a month or so... I think it might have been three month.... I thought let me call my man and see whats up.... On the phone Chad tells me he started them... he's got the new veneer. He also tells me he's getting married and he is super busy... but is trying to get to them... I'm like dude....it's all good... take your time... it's "ok"..... yea I'm a nice guy....sometimes to nice.... soooo I let a few more months go buy.....still no speakers no Chad..... I'll give him another call.... more of the same stuff.....he's really sorry.... he's been really busy.... I'm moving....blah blah blah... He tells me.... I will get them done... Sometimes you loose track of things....you loose track of time...well I do... At this point of time my speakers had been MIA for two years or so. I would call but no answer and no return call. Now I'm thinking am I going to get these cabs back at all?? Now there's one person you don't want to piss off...... my wife.... My wife does not come out the gate ready to attack... but I tell ya she will go for the throat... My wife puts up with very little bullshitt... and buy this time the speaker deal was bullshitt. She tells me "I'm getting you Klipsch back and I'm getting the money Chad owes you". So now my wife is on it. The 1st thing she does is get a hold of Chads brother to get a good number. Cuz at this time the number we had for Chad was no good. She gets Chads brother and tells him what has gone down... Chads brother tells my wife that Chad has moved to Ohio and he does not know where the speakers are. He also tells my wife this is the type of shitt he has done before. He give my wife his number. She gets Chad on the phone and tells him how disappointed she is with him. How could he do something like this to her husband.... the man that took care of him for so long. My wife has a way with words.... she did not yell... she didn't even raise her voice. At the end of the call I think he was in tears. He said he would be coming to town soon and he would get the speakers to me and pay the money for the car repairs. Again......more and more time goes buy..... no Chad.... no speakers..... It's almost four years..... Life goes on... we got a shop... we got kids.... we got grandkids.... we have bigger fish to fry than chasing some speakers.... Now a month ago... or so I was following Matthews post on his Chorus that he got... I loved his thread, I was showing my wife. Telling her that Matt is going to have "new" cabs made. I was showing her how Mookie made the new motor boards and all the new cabs. At the end of Matts post I showed her the Cabs that Mookie and Mattews and done. They were soooo nice.. Man it got me thinking.... I still have all my driver's and x-over's for the Chorus... I wonder if Mookie would make a set of motorboards for me??? Would he make all the panels and just ship them to me??? It's funny how things work out... that week I sent Mookie a pm telling him the story about the Chorus. I asked him if he would make me all the panels for the speakers or would he make just the motorboards? There would be shipping and I knew it might be something that he just might not want to do.... and that's "ok" ... If I just got the motorboards done I could have a woodshop make the rest for me.. A few days later Mookie got back to me and told me he would make the motor boards... that would be the best thing to do.... I told him I would get back to soon.... Buy me showing Matts thread to my wife was like opening up an old wound..... That week she found Chad on the internet... he had started his own company he was back in Maryland. She got all his info.... My wife called me in her office and told me what she was going to do. She said " I have Chads new number at his company, I'm going to call him and tell him if he does not bring you speakers back by the end of this week she was going to the court house and file theft charges" if he doesn't have the speakers she wants the money for the car repairs. The fist call she made she got voice mail... she left a detailed message on what was going to happen.. With in ten minutes Chad calls. Again my wife did not yell but simply state what she was going to do. Chad said he would be at my shop Friday by noon. He had to go to his dads house to pick-up my speakers. where they had been all this time. At 11:30 Friday Chad pulls into my lot... I walked out to his truck to meet him. He got out and was waiting for me. I stood in front of him and the fist words to be spoken was " Mark I never meant to do this to you I am so sorry" He was viziably upset. Now I'm not a big a$$ hole... but I'm not going to tell you "oh it's ok buddy" I told him that he disrespected me and I was not real happy with what went down. We unloaded the speakers out of the truck... just as they were the day he took them almost four years ago. We spoke for a good bit, he said I can't belive you didn't yell at me or punch me in the face when I got out of the truck... I told him that's not what real men do... a lot had gone down in those years... his dad passed away and his wife left him while he was in Ohio. Before he left the shop he said he wanted to make things right...He gave me $500 to get the speakers done. To this day I don't think Chad is a "bad" guy.... Before he left I thanked him for getting the speakers back to me and for the money. I also gave him some words of wisdom... If I tell someone I'm going to do something then I do it..... If for some reason something comes up that changes what I told them I was going to do... then I need to talk to them and not hide and tell lies... This is how Iv'e run my shop for all these years. I don't bullshitt people... I hope he has learned something from this. So that, my Klipsch peeps is the story of my Chorus.... I hope you liked it. Oh the day I got them back is the same day I took them to the woodshop down the road from me. I will keep you all posted on how they turn out... Again a quick thanks to Mookie for saying he would help me out.... and a thanks to you to Matt for your post... cuz I really think it got my wife fired up again... MKP :-)

  38. $225 Shipped in its original box and packaging. Shipping will be FedEx ground with insurance to the United States lower 48 only. Paypal preferred, I'll eat their charges. Condition: This hasn't been recapped or serviced that I know of. I'm the second owner. Looking through the top chassis venting, the inside surfaces are dirty. All lights work except the red 'stereo' light when using the FM radio. Knobs have slight scratching when turning but all function.....deoxit will fix. Faceplate is very clean. The only blemishes are left of the headphone jack, above the 106 tuner number, and some circular scratches around the tuner knob, all pictured below. I'm not much of a vinyl person so I haven't checked the Phono input. I can dig out my only TT and a few albums if you want me to verify it works. Now for the good stuff: 730s sound awesome with Klipsch, especially when hooked up to Chorus IIs (haven't owned any larger Heritage). Very full, robust sound. More than you'd assume with 40 watts per channel. If you're into ear splitting volume levels this will tap out before you're satisfied. Still, it'll get up into the 85db range no problem with Heritage. Reason for the sale is I'm saving up for a newer HT amp and have three of these 730s. Three is too much hoarding but two is just right.

  40. Funny thing about these oils. They are demonized. However, seems most studies assume you are drinking the stuff. When I consider the tiny quantities actually consumed with PROPERLY fried foods I find it silly. Maybe a tablespoon with a big heap of fries, but I suspect a lot less. Anyway, not going to lose sleep over it. Dave

  45. If this drug is legit and does indeed work then the more popular it gets, hopefully the more affordable it gets. Lots of drugs start at extremely high price points but come down after a little time on the market. The best part is that (again if legit) this may pave the way for more research and a possible cure or containment for future use.
