  1. I am very thankful that my Dad is in his 18th month surviving pancreatic cancer. When he was first diagnosed he was given less than 6 months to live. Today I got to enjoy another Thanksgiving dinner with him. Hopefully I'll get to enjoy even more.

  7. Morning gang... Turkey day was good.....yea ate to much for sure.. It's going to be warm here also...not quite as warm as you Chuck....but it should be 60 or so, After I was done helping the wife with prep work for dinner I sucked up a batch of leaves in the old F-250. I'm going to take them to the dump once I am done with this coffee... We are taking off work today. The wife likes taking the Friday off after Thanks giving, and since she is the president of the Co. who am I to argue.... I'll end up doing more leaves today....I tell ya the amount of leaves I have at the house is crazy .....It's a battle every year... Wishing all a great day..... MKP:-)

  8. Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. Smoked the bird for a couple of hours and that was just right for us. Transferred to the oven and turned out good. Brining helped a lot too. Baxter and the standard poodle romped in the back yard until they practically dropped. Much fun. 70 degrees, Chuck? Really?? Damn. It's not going to be over 20 here and the snow is falling. Have a great day guys.

  12. Quite the feast there Chuck, Our circumstance did not allow for lots of cooking yesterday it was looked on as more a typical day. But we spent some good quality time together (for me thats worth more than all the hoopla) No Black Friday shopping Christmas is taken care of. Spent the morning cleaning and going through the boys clothes getting rid of all the smalls Need to get them a couple things but overall they look good and set for the year I dont have the mentality to hang out on BS forum much, I know I would go overboard so I will keep my nose out as much as I can. I learned long ago I don't discuss politics and religion everyone has there ingrained opinion and who am I to try and change there minds with my opinions Lunch is ready, Fried spuds smothered in chip beef gravy (left overs) YUM YUM

  13. That's 12 pounds of mashed potatoes....the LF and I peeled for an hour. Turkey was brined and tasty but after too many drinks my carving left a bit to be desired They knew how much I like gravy and made two pictures Prior to the meal we snacked on shrimp cocktail while watching the Panthers play.....and win So after all this bourbon, appetizers, turkey, and desert I eased into a calorie induced coma Now I just coast...... Enough about me.....lets see some pictures Gents. Cheers Ladies and Gents

  14. OK don't hate me but it's 72 degrees here today. LF just left on her bike for the park to hit tennis balls against a backboard. I'm nursing an over indulgence of Maker's Mark as well as food coma. Thanks giving with LF's cousin and a lot of folks from around Pittsburg. Very tasty but no greens or oyster dressing. Pictures you say?

  15. Morning Gang 31 and i do not feel it, i stopped feeling at 40 degrees. 52 in the Cave and tolarable w/foot heater(s). Coffee goes cold faster than i can drink it....dam :emotion-44: Yesterday i installed an old Rotor device for turning the antenna on the Cave array. Works outstanding, swings the WiFi Beam right along with the turning. I see/have over 40 hot spots, as of yet i have NOT further played with the WiFi. Napa Machine shop Visit/Pub fly by. Broke the 8 Rotor Bolts w/ 1/2" breaker bar and a beer. Rotor ready to be turned. I see the wife is up, time for Black Friday Traffic, (3 miles), side streets. Good day mates.

  17. There is something seriously wrong with me. I am stuffed with all the Thanksgiving food one usually gets at Thanksgiving, I am so full my belly hurts. And all I can think about right now is the great turkey sandwich I can make tomorrow with the leftovers.

  19. I am stuffed! My wife made a feast that could feed eight, but it was only for the two of us. We of course texted the rest of our family to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving (Dontcha just love communication in the 2015s!) and are fortunate that most of us are doing well...I see this thread started out as an homage to nice speakers and equipment so I will raise my glass to those that work at and listen with Klipsch and play some Aerosmith and Eagles on Bluray while my food digests and later on eat some late-night Pie.

  25. Morning Joe BS Forum started out as precived, first few months were as expected and then some. Main Forum cleaned right up, as of today, one could say, it's loosened up. Loose due to the overwhelming need to vent to/with an audience. The BS forum with only seven plus players gets old really quick, just like a kid's board game, no fresh meat. All the players know each other, politics/religion/abourtion, Just like the Internet at large! If one stands back and views the main forum, looks just like last year, NO Difference. You cannot really blame the BS forum users for participating/interjecting their well honed views, in the main forum, they are just doing what comes natural and what they have done for years. I do'nt know anyone who came here for anything other than Audio. But when a "Newbi" chimes in, the first page they see is, "The" main forum page, and of course they see what we see. and there is the paradox The "senior" forum 5Ks and better, ARE part of the problem. Upon my achiving 5k i was met with BS, that spelled it out for me, "Moron Section" Every chat room on the Net has it's share of Morons, some more than others. The Klipsch Forum, now, No better than any other. I came for Audio, staying for Audio, Anybody else?

  28. I guess I'm a dick also then. If you post politics in a thread about giving thanks you are. Isn't that the weirdest thing someone could post? Seriously. I am thankful for my family and friends and that we actually live in a great country, regardless of political views...

  30. I know there has been some buzz around here about inexpensive DIY linestages. For those that can't wait here is a project using a cigar box as a chassis. I have seen some cigar talk around here so maybe you folks have some laying around ready to made into a top notch tube line preamp! I have always enjoyed Pete's designs and can't say enough good things about what he does for the DIY community. http://pmillett.com/el_escorpion.html

  34. That to me right there is the ultimate Klipsch setup! Chorus 1's with the RSW-15. I gifted the same set to my father-in-law a few years ago and he enjoys the hell out it. Congrats on the new sub!

  35. This. No need to rewind the clock 15 years, even though LCD is in it's prime. Screen resolution isn't everything. Amongst other metrics, OLED smokes everything in response time, even CRT. Just like transient response in horn speakers, it's the first major difference your eyes experience....the complete absence of any ghosting or motion blur while tracking an object across the screen, regardless of the object's speed. Some "light" reading on the topic: http://www.displaymate.com/LCD_Response_Time_ShootOut.htm http://www.displaymate.com/LG_OLED_TV_ShootOut_1.htm http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/oled-motion-blur http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/response_time.php

  36. Lets hope it gets fixed SOON! Because the spec sheets are NOT available as a download right now for most, if not all, of the discontinued products... Including LaScala, Forte, Chorus, Epic CF and KLF. I'm sure there are others, but those are the only ones I've checked. All the products that had spec sheets available for download on the old site still have them available on our new one. Yes there are some that don't have (and haven't had, even on the old site) downloadable spec sheets for some reason. We'll get to the bottom of that. Thanks for asking so.... nicely?

  37. Thanks for that feedback, Mark. Yeah, Vietnam is within my concentration at school, so I get to get my hands dirty on the subject a bit. Vietnam was definitely a case where the tides were polarized (not unlike today, although there seems to be more armchair debaters than the 60s). On another note, this project made me lose almost all of my respect for John Lennon. What I turned up on the man seriously made me just look at him with so much distain.

  40. Hey...I've found an engineer archivist who is volunteering to handle 78 transfers. One guy around there says he has a "barnfull." There are many more. The Grammy Foundation does significant grants for this work. In the past businesses I've failed at I am so pleased to have finally figured it out: Just declare an NPO. Then, failure is not an option... Dave

  45. Psalm 23 A psalm of David. 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, [a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. May the Lord grant eternal peace unto you, Old Buckster.
