  1. Just like Brian Cranston who was once a Meth Cook, and then a Hollywood Communist on the Black list. Whew! Talk about done DID! I don't know. Did Bryan Cranston ever write the legal department of AMC complaining about the producer of the show he was on (after also complaining to that producer's boss several times), before burning up that character's IMDB page to destroy it and moving on to another character? I can't recall.

  2. Several months ago, my 14yr old daughter mentioned she would like to have a stereo for her bedroom. So of course I immediately headed to Craigslist to look for some Klipsch. I found a pair of RF-5, RC-7 and RB-5 for $600. I figured at that price, I could keep a pair of the speakers and sell the rest. I brought them home and asked my daughter if she would rather have the towers or bookshelf speakers in her bedroom and she said the bookshelf (I would have picked the RF-5's but hey....it's her room). I didn't have a need for the RF-5 or RC-7 so I ended up selling them and ended up with the RB-5 for free. A few weeks later, I found an Onkyo TX-SR602 for $30 and then several weeks after that, I found a small entertainment center for $20. I figured it would make a nice birthday gift for her so I stored the entertainment center at the church and the speakers and receiver in the HT. Not a bad first system for $50. So tomorrow is her 15th birthday and she's spending the night at a friend's so I brought home the entertainment center and hooked up her first system. I think she is going to be thoroughly impressed. I couldn't believe how terrible her TV sound was. I mean really awful. I think she will be pleasantly surprised.

  5. Those turned out alot nicer than mine. I wish i would have waited for you to do yours. Or at least purchased bull nose.Very nice job. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk We were fortunate in that we had another shower in the house so I could take my time. More than once, I did something only to come back the next day and not like what I saw and remove what I had previously done. It's hard to do that when you're on a time crunch. If I was getting paid to do this, I'm sure I would have been fired a long time ago for taking too long.

  6. Not sure what is going on with this thread, only read the last page. However, I changed my screen name as well. I hoped that people would notice the change and not really think twice about it. Matt 1970 just sounded so "generic". Changed it to "Matthews". That is what my Grandpa would always call me. Everyone else called me Matt but not Grandpa, I was Matthews

  12. well, I was finishing the demolition on the hall bath last night. Worked so very carefully to remove the old bathroom vanity without disturbing the mirror that was glued onto the wall. Took a couple of hours of carefully prying and a pass with the reciprocating saw to get it loose from the wall. I couldn't remove the top since it was in contact with the plate glass window. Get the cabinet loose, go into the master bedroom to get some tools (also finishing remodel there) and hear this great crash. Yes, the mirror fell of the wall and busted into a million pieces! So much for trying to save something during a remodel

But cost is good and he does the best work. I couldn't even get my tools out and figure out what i was going to do in two hours.

  14. Are you talking about around the shadow boxes? That's the only place I used them.. Those darn things are expensive. Yes. yes they are expensive. If this was a main bathroom I would have sprung for them. But since its in the basement I just let the unfinished edge show. I hate it but hey what do you do.

  18. Whatever Thaddeus Smith. I don't really care. I skimmed the thread and thought it to be in poor taste with a healthy dose of moderator input - and the administrator! Even some name calling. I inquire and get some guy I've never seen post accusing me ever so slightly of promoting 'bullshit conspiracy theories or criticism.' Nice to meet you, Thaddeus.

  20. I hear what you're saying but if you don't go down any of those rabbit holes and just choose to not participate in threads where those things are taking place, then it's all good. My experience here is 100% positive and has been since I've joined. I try and help people where I can, get loads of help from others enjoy a lot of humor and try to inject some myself along the way. I don't feel that there's anyone on the forum that has any ill will against me and nobody that I have any distaste for either. Stick around Jim, and just swim away from the drain.

  21. I for one could care less how many name changes someone has, or how many different times a person comes onto the forum after being booted. I see people getting booted because they "strike out against another member", but all I see on here are several cliques that watch each others backs, and those same cliques can say/do what they want without repercussion. The people getting booted say something towards another member, and that member gets protected, but in the same token also lashes out with nothing happening, or that member is the one who initially lashed out. Seems childish to me. I can say one thing, I have been getting real bored with the forum lately as it has gone from talking about equipment and has gone to other things, the same things members complain about not wanting to see, but then posting something similar. I came here to get an education on equipment, and aside from the 4-5 people who have taught me things, haven't been pleased with things. I know the "bashing" of if you don't like it leave will follow, but these are my opinions on things on here. I just don't see many new people on here anymore, or people that stay here for long after posting something for sale,or trying to find out pricing on something. On the positive side of things, I have learned about speaker placement, crossovers, tube amps, wiring, how to stuff, and why about certain things. And that I am thankful for. But the constant bashing of others, not so much. If you don't like someone take it to PM. If that person rubs you the wrong way, ignore their posts. But be consistent when barring people or berating them and not letting them fight back. Make sure then other person also gets the same treatment. And I am not talking about 1 individual here, if several people on here have changed their names,or IP addresses it's for a reason. It takes 2 to have an issue.

  24. I watched a show awhile back about Ford....and there was something like when you bought a new modle "t" it came with a free bag of Kingsford charcoal. The charcoal was made with the scaps of the cars. If ya google Kingsford and read the history it tell the story...it's really cool.. MKP :-) Charcoal was invented by Henry Ford as a way to make use of the scraps from making the wood spoke rims. The name of Henry Fords charcoal...... Kingsford! Roger

  25. Darn Mike that is a pia! 1999 John Deere basic push mower here. May have to replace this year engine wants to stop ever so often while mowing. Have had a tune up but no change.

  26. Monday Took the ZTR mower out over the weekend for it's oil change and season readiness look over. Hour meter indicates that I average 50 hours per year. How the heck the deck became an inch low in front and a front tire got three sidewall cuts sitting in the garage I'll never figure. PIA to change the oil on this thing. Awaiting epray tires and tubes. Per instruction manual I should remove the deck and turn it over to change the blades; I think not.

  29. According to my "mirror guy" they glue all the mirrors on now. I incorrectly assumed they'd be using sliding clips which is what I prefer in case you ever want to move the mirror in the future. Seems like a lazy way to do it.

  36. I lived with my grandfather who died of Pick's disease, which is similar to Alzheimer. Some of the stuff he would say would have us rolling on the ground. It was hard not to laugh as he knew what was going and would get made. It wasn't right, but you just couldn't help it. His favorite thing to say, which was probably the only thing he said up to the time he past was "yeah sure you bet". He was always restless, always wanted to go for walks. It got to the point my grandmother and I couldn't control him, so we put him in a home. At first he figured out that there was an access code to open the door. So they had to cover it to keep him from escaping. Its tough to see someone go through that, I feel for you.

  37. Afternoon gang....just checking in with my coffee buds.... Slow day today...we stayed at moms last night...were still here.... I slept on the couch last night The BOSS slept in the kids room. Mom sleeps in her chair...she will not go to bed...and if she does she'll get up in the night and walk around the house.... my daughter has found her wandering around the house at night. But she seems to stay in her chair overnight. I guess this is the best we can do right now. I asked mom if she wanted to take alittle walk outside....she's alittle restless today....she told me NO I don't want to go outside and clean car windshields.....lol lol...you know all we can do is laugh...the things she says is off the chain.....now we don't laugh at her....but some of the stuff is just so funny.... We try to keep her busy with small little tasks....like folding a few towels and just throwing the junk mail away... Well all in all were doing ok....another week tomorrow....ok enjoy the rest of your Sunday... MKP :-)

  40. In all fairness since you pride yourself on complete secrecy and anonymity, who the hell are you? I'm beginning to identify the members of this 'group' I've been PM'd about. Didn't think much of it till now. My point was exposing the irony of someone hiding behind a completely opaque veil demanding who the hell are you to someone else.

  41. Heard this tonight for the first time in many, many years. This one always plucked at my heart strings. First, it's got great harmonies, 2nd, ah forget about the details, it's just a great song, superbly sung. So how do I share this with someone? Because this is one of those songs that should be shared. First person I thought of, maybe given his line of work, was Dee. Somehow, I'm thinking he either liked, or certainly would have, liked this song. So I'm sending it your way Daddy with warm thoughts. Little Jimmy Brown, or also called "Three Bells:" by The Browns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJCvPhqcY9A
