  3. It will be 21 degrees when I get up and go to work tomorrow, and the high might be a balmy 31. I'll be outside between 7:30 AM and 4 PM. Then, tacos and tequila. Just like most every evening...

  4. I heard a prank some play is to ask to use a friend's cell phone. The prankster then sets the phone to a foreign language, if you don't speak that language, you probably won't be able to use the phone

  5. I am not reckless with a keyboard...........i just don't understand everything it can do or how to work it The worst is when I hit something and it makes it impossible to make a change, everytime you type it erases the next space, and that just one problem, I need a keyboard for dummies. New years eve was fine, just no fire, I am a pyro.

  9. Chuckab3, big winter storm here too, maybe 1/2 inch of snow! The media is out looking for more snow to report on. Mark, I think a pretty big storm is heading your way this weekend, but you might be just south of it. Chuck, hang on to that coffee mug. Anyone see Roger lately?

  10. Here's the demo pair of Forte III's setup in the Klipsch booth. We've already had great feedback and the show hasn't even officially opened yet! I'll grab a better picture of the Forte III in California Black Walnut (also on display) and post it when I get a chance. Kerry

  11. Morning all, Just checking in and catching up on some posts. The BOSS and I have been really busy with crapp, you all know what I'm saying.... It's been quite cold here for the last few days. We've had a fire going for the last several days. I split a bunch more wood last weekend. We've burned quite a bit of wood so far this year. I hope to get through this year without buying any wood. I'm using the Oak that I had taken down last year. I'm hoping it'll be enough....we'll see. The BOSS and I will be wearing our Christmas gift from our daughter today. I'll get a pick of us with it on.....you guys are gonna love this...... OK...coffee done I should have rolled out all ready but I'm dragging azz this moring.... Check back later... MKP :-)

  12. Happy Thursday all. Still cold as hell here but the wizzards fell short on the snow forecast. They had to jump in their vehicles and drive to nearby towns (where the snow was more plentiful) so they didn't look as stupid on the morning newscast. They did warn us about driving into the mountains - which ALWAYS get more snow - because there's more snow there. Big drama. No wonder the media is held in contempt. Think I'll stay in today, play some tunes and flip on the HT. Cheers to all.

  14. Hello, Before I think about listing these local wanted to feel out any local who may be interested in these oiled oak Chorus. The condition I gauge as 7 aesthetics and 10 sonics. They were recently crossover refreshed by parts from @DeanG and installed on boards by a local technician. Paid too much to have the work done but, appears to be a good job. Clarity are the brand of caps mainly with what I take as Mills resistors. The grilles could be better in appearance and could fit better. Cloth is intact however. Speakers are otherwise in stock condition and cannot recall if label denote them as consecutive but, veneer tells me they are. Think they were nade in 89 but, will have to look for that info. Got these through my job in lieu of services rendered while working for a couple of years at an audio/home theatre concern i Tallahassee in 2001. Thinking there may be some pics here in the database but, can take more pics when at speaker location in a couple or so days from now. Here first and then the local list...depending on my cash flow. $500 is where I am at with a sale atm...Thanks, Billy ***Edit: Looking for Chorus pics but maybe on other computer. Will be able to post some in a couple of days... ****The copper emblems are missing also...:( Edit: Beginning price on my local CL will reflect non-member status...

  17. Yea Chuck, there is snow coming in this evening. Don't think it'll be much.....maybe a inch or two. We are in the Northern part of Md almost at the Pa line. Roger sent The BOSS a facebook message yesterday. I called him about a month ago, got voice mail..... been meaning to call again to check-up on my man. The time we get home and do all the crapp we gotta do it slips my old mind to give him a call MKP :-)

  18. This is the info from Rogelio Delgado Jr. that was posted from another forum QUOTE...... The tweeter is the same as the one in heresy and Cornwall. The mid is a 1.75" diap that has a phase plug I designed. The horn is my latest greatest tractrix used in some commercial product. And the voicing is....like it's supposed to be. Think ki 396..... The bass is tighter and more excursion. It has all the latest I have been taught and have learned. Come to the pilgrimage. I will have a surprise for all.

  19. I am very glad to see that there will be more great Klipsch products built in your country. I go out of my way to purchase products made in Canada, the U.K. and the USA . All about quality, supporting your own and those close to you. In the new climate, the marketing folks should bang the made in USA gong loud and hard. This will do nothing but help the brand as well as the hard working folk who make this happen.

  30. RETURN ENGAGEMENT Back by popular demand, the Klipsch Forté III delivers classic Heritage performance with new retro-cool styling. Hand-made in Hope, AR, this sonic marvel packs a punch while providing clear, multi-dimensional sound. Forté’s narrow profile and clean lines harbor a wealth of advanced acoustic technology. As the first truly full-range speaker in the Heritage lineup, audiophiles will be impressed by Forté’s highly-efficient horn loaded tweeter and updated larger mid-range driver – both with new titanium diaphragms for a smoother response. The slim design houses a powerful 12” woofer and 15” passive radiator for jaw-dropping tight, enveloping bass.

  31. Actually, no. I really had no idea. I'm not usually privy to new products being developed until we are close to releasing them or getting them ready for CES. I'm just a lowly Web Guy™. That said, even if I did know something, I wouldn't have risked my job by mentioning it here.

  32. A sub is almost always going to add "that much." It's a single driver-type enclosure that is designed to play low and deep. A tower speaker is not designed to do that. While the 280F is a decent speaker, and digs, it won't dig as much as a sub - and I have to say that adding a sub is essential in a surround configuration.

  33. This is how I did it. My main goal was one room, one system, no disconnections / re-connections needed to switch back and forth and any resulting compromises would be to the HT portion and not the 2-channel system. I accomplished my goal and the HT systems also sounded as if there were no compromises there either. Edit: diagram updated to correct typo.

  35. Very unique new product line-up - some pretty neat products there. I wonder if the RF-7 III uses the same drivers and crossover as the RF-7 II. The 10" drivers look the same. The announcement only mentions "aesthetics and styling" updates and a new horn design (looks like the RP horn). It would be cool if the new horn design could be retrofit to the RF-7 II, assuming it is an audible improvement.

  36. If it sounds right, it is right. If tone controls make the music sound better, go ahead and use them. If you're getting headaches from listening to music I strongly recommend listening at quieter volumes that don't cause headaches. You could be damaging your hearing.

  37. If you can hear the "and-a" in Smells Like, you will actually hear 2 "and-a's" strung together like this: 1 - 2 - 3 - (and-a) (and-a) - 2 - 3 - 4 1 - 2 - 3 - (and-a) (and-a) - 2 - 3 - 4 If you got that down, you are very, very close to being able to play that song.

  38. It would help to have a quality picture of the label as well. Two would be better. That will identify exactly when the speakers were born and help you find their true value. If you have them undervalued at $2,000 expect 20 calls by tonight by flippers lining up to snag a bargain. If they are overvalued they still may sell, but you might have to wait several months for the right buyer. GLWYS

  42. Been really busy since Christmas. After being mostly out of work since last April, I'm back at it full time. Now I wonder how people ever get anything done at home... Nice thing is my wife and I work at the same facility, so we can ride to work together, which will save us some more on gas. Now we can start getting caught up on the bills. (And a power amp from Duder, a pc build I need to run some software I have, finishing the LS cabs... and much more. Must resist and hit the bills first)

  44. It's bright and sunny here, but cold. Windchill is 4, was 56 yesterday! It's too cold for me to finish my outside job, so I think I'll apply some satin polyurethane to a wood beam project I'm working on. Maybe I'll just bug you fine folks today The older I get, the more the cold becomes an annoyance. I wish it would snow, at least I would be busy.

  46. Mornin' folks ....looks like C&C has slowed up a bit ....where ya'll at? Still fighting the stupid cold I've had or whatever it is. Gonna see the doc in a bit to see if it's 'whatever' as opposed to a cold. And ... the Colorado front range is bracing for up to a foot of snow plus frigid temps. Our weather wizzards tend to be accurate when it's right on top of them, so this is probably gonna happen. Trusty Pathfinder should be up to it. Wlll try to check back later. Cheers.
