Then he'll have 4! I just shook the mighty eight-ball and asked it if Neil was going to buy another pair. The answer was "Yes!"4 points

While trying to quote myself — my father warned that causes blindness — I accidentally obliterated most of the post to be quoted. The part deleted sang the praises of Klipsch The Sixes and their appeal to Millenials. Even sitting on chairs, as shown, they sound great. The plucked double bass, sax and percussion in the excellent Trio Jeepy by Branford Marsalis are palpable. I’ll be sad to see these go to my son’s apartment.4 points

Only diehard audiophools like us need anything larger. “Need” is to strong. No one needs more, but we want more.4 points

Mornin Mike! Sunny and bright for once here! Just got the mugga workin too! Then perhaps i'll be motivated and get something done! My mailman decided to beat my front door to death a bit ago. He loves it when I get a new LP! A rocker about 15 years younger than me... It's alway's who is it and let's hear it... lolol3 points

Never thought about that, it does. I never did say, but they are secure, the metal is 1/4" thick and each bracket is bolted with 2 3" lag bolts. There is no drywall it's 1/2" plywood over 2- 2"x12"s stacked on top of each other and notched and bolted into a 6" pole inside that square post and another on each end of that opening. All post in the house 16 go through the slab and 4' in the ground and go tie in to the roof.3 points

Totally with you on this, Jeff. I believe it both from science and from observation. My grandparents generation was the last to practice largely "from the earth" food. They ate massive quantities of fat, grains, meats, eggs, and vegetables every day. They worked manual labor dawn to dusk and all lived long and healthy lives. Evolution made humans basically garbage recycling machines. It is not about what you eat, but what you do after you eat. Most people today eat like they are about to go out and plow a hundred acres with a mule...then go sit on a couch and drink beer. Diet will not help with that. Dave2 points

My sis commented that he didn't look good when he was young .. as in not healthy. Albinos tend to have serious probs with their eyes. Listening to Gypsy. Not too bad. A little on the pop side ... But so was Nilsson2 points

He was pretty much one of a kind. We saw him at Memphis in May probably 10 years ago and a couple of times after that. Very frail looking and had to be led to the stage so he wouldn't trip on wires, etc. Once he got there though-he still rocked that old big guitar of his. Hwy 61 will always be his-to me at least.2 points

You know that if they get "the bug", it won't stop until they do get something more [and more] substantial HaHaHa in R/C helicopters -- we called it "heli-crack"2 points

Mornin' all I've been up too long already. 2AM Hate it when I wake that early. I exhaust myself being quiet. The birds are making noise. It is peaceful at this time of day. About finished with my cuppa. This new "mug" is nice once you get around the lid and spout...2 points

In 20 years of installing cat5, now cat6, never installed anything but solid copper. Patch cables alway are stranded, except my new boss doesn't hesitate to make solis conductot patch cables. Premade are always stranded. Just make sure it's copper and not copper clad aluminum. Bruce2 points

The outer hole is too small. For now I fit them in as snug as they would go and just progressively tightened down the screws. Half is fully seated, the other half has about 2mm of the metal edge sticking up. It’s not permanent. I just wanted to get them in to hear the difference. They sound fantastic. I suppose that cork would work, but I suspect that the gasket already makes it pretty close to airtight even though it’s not fully seated. i picked up the Forte IIs from a yard sale. $20 for the pair. Passives were shredded, probably by cats, but otherwise excellent condition. So now, I happily own a complete set of Forte IIs, which are replacing a pair of Quartets that I bought in the mid-90s. Cost me $180 total. Probably the most enjoyable yard sale deal I ever made.2 points

And they are quite... very silent because of the. Shielding. I went thru a phase of trying upscale wires to see if there was anything related to dollar value... most all of those are horrific. Blue Jeans Cables are perfect, well priced and I see no reason to try another interconnect. Like I had mentioned, their HDMI cables are FANTASTIC even if they have a utilitarian appearance. I do use another custom maker for my power cables and speaker wiring... but they are also extremely well made and what I consider a bargain. I just got new power cables for my vrds... they are custom length of 6', solid copper with rhodium plating... well under $100. Your choice of length, shielded or not shielded (more flexible) color etc. Schmitt custom cables.2 points

Just to clarify, this is for museum members only right? I need to make sure so I can stop stalking this thread every 3.5 minutes and get buying more pro stuff out of my head.2 points

The average "discerning ear" on this site is well over 50 years old with a good chance of a hearing aid inside of it, so take it with a grain of salt ;-). Enjoy your new LSII's!2 points

Sanding the tops down and refinishing them is not a big deal. There is a product called Barkeepers Friend mentioned in various posts on the Klipsch forums that can remove stains . I refinished a pair with Satin Spar Polyurethane and they ended up looking very similar to yours. I know you will enjoy them and next recap your crossovers or send them to Bob Crites to be done. Those old caps are not helping your sound quality.2 points

I just bought a pair of KLF-20 speakers in the light oak. A little beat up but they'll kinda be tucked away. I would like to know what the original feet look like, or if I do have the original feet and caps, and/or what can be done to change them out. I have only 7 of the 8 caps if they are the originals. The speakers will be on tile flooring so I want something that won't crack or chip that and will be OK as far as vibration etc. Also considering the Bob Crites rebuild crossover and the titanium diaphragm's if they are available. I contacted Bob today and waiting for a response on those. Does anyone know off hand if the crossover rebuild kit makes any changes to values? Thanks Tim1 point

Thanks for all the input. I spent Tuesday morning at Tractor Supply Co looking at fence posts. Manage to cut my pants severely and my leg just a bit. They gave me a free pair of pants! How is that for customer service? I was blown away. So I get back to the compound with my 6.5' posts, signs, wire, and fence post setter. On about the 5th post the owner comes out. Completely different tune from days past. I think the surveyor must have been enough to have him realize I was not joking around. He was very calm, polite and dare I say friendly....no not friendly the guy is still a bit of a jerk but for sure he had his tail between his legs. You could tell in his voice and demeanor he was rattled. He says you don't have to put up the signs, I'll respect the survey markers. He more or less agreed that the first/corner marker was what he had thought several years ago when we built but seems he differed on the angle the property line cut after that. I was correct he was mistaken....though I still personally believe, based on previous conversations, that he knew all along what was mine and what was his his. He just thought since we rarely are on that part of the property that he could "take" liberties and appear to have more near his driveway leading to house. Long story but the short version is he built way to close to the boundary for a 10+ acre lot and I think he regrets the placement. Tough S#!t man, your problem not mine. Leave my stuff alone. I told him I had to put the signs up as my next step was the cops and a lawyer. I needed the signs to clearly state my purpose. The signs are pointed right at his driveway has he passes and only about 15' from the driveway. In some spots the posts/signs are only about 30' from his house. I actually felt a bit bad as they are right in his face and pretty ugly IMO. Why oh why didn't he build more into his property?!?! We talked some more he apologized for what was downed and tried some lame excuse that the guy he hired got carried away. We discussed the spraying and a few other issues. In the end I agreed to remove the signs but keep the fence posts to clearly mark the boundary line. We agreed that if during the summer I did not see brush growing back up that the signs would return. He promised up and down to never set foot across the line again. Agreed to not spray roundup, agreed that he was wrong. Thanked me for taking the signs down and shook my hand at least 3 times. All in all I'm happy with the results because the sighs were obnoxious and so close to his house. I felt sort of bad for his wife and kids having to look at them. Again what were they thinking when they built? I think I am now in the "trust but verify" mode. I'll be keeping a close eye out. I'd like to believe that we are all ultimately decent and do the right thing given a chance...but it is pretty hard these days. My wife thinks I am bit too trusting. Time will tell. I'm not returning all the signs, that is for sure.1 point
