  6. I dig Lizzy Hale of Halestorm. I'm just slightly more partial to Dorothy Martin of Dorothy. Probably because I saw them live at a lounge in Missoula. Small venue, was about 20' from the stage, seriously loud, four dual 18 bins that hit you in your chest. Oh, and she's hot. Good stuff.

I made her spaghetti with chicken sauce. That was last night. She got pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast. She was funny last night. Her mom popped in to take her to a magic show. She was in the middle of her plate and her mom is trying to get her to go ..."Mom, I eating!"

  10. Don't buy anything new until you try many things to make your system sound better without spending more money. There are so many different ways a speaker and a receiver combination can sound bad .. in what way does yours sound bad? Distorted (fuzzy sounding, or discordant sounding)? Lacking bass, or treble, or midrange? Harsh? Not enough detail? Can you send us some photographs of your room and the positions of your speakers, and your main listening location? Lacking photos, a drawing would help. How large is your room? Ceiling height, width, length? Is your listening environment "Live?" (many hard surfaces) or "Dead?" (many soft, absorbent surfaces), or somewhere in-between? Do you have bare floors, area rugs, or wall to wall carpets? Are the speakers toed-in toward your listening position? How far from the wall are your speakers? Is the MCACC engaged and set up properly? If in doubt, for now, switch it off, and see if that helps. If you are using the manual equalizer, set everything to "0" or "Neutral" (no boost or cut), then make changes slowly, one at a time. Are your main speakers set for "Small," with the sub switch on the Pioneer set for "Yes" or "On?"

  15. OK looking for volunteers, I figure at the very least Tarheel and a few others would be willing to try it. Apparently it's a scientific thing, were going to call it that anyway. It is kind of interesting and strange. You can't make this stuff up, nobody would believe you, I guess it was more fun than just putting a speaker next to their stomach ? http://www.foxnews.com/health/2018/06/22/scientists-piped-music-into-womens-wombs-to-see-if-fetuses-like-freddie-mercury.html Scientists piped music into women's wombs to see if fetuses like Freddie Mercury By Brandon Specktor | LiveScience

I Miss FM radio from back in the day when they would play new music and tell you who the talent was. Progress Ehhh............. Thanks to all those that have posted, though I may not call out names I am looking at most of the suggestions, some of which I already have and they were hidden in the pile of some 1200 or so Cds

  26. It was a big deal for me, not gonna lie. It isn't just the speakers, we had to get fancy turntables and nice tube amps plus furniture. One of my amps alone was $3,200. Then there were space considerations as I already had a Jubilee setup which was taking up my only two good corners that K-horns could have used. Just a huge investment in time, money, and effort, and I still need to work on the syndicated content. It wouldn't be for everybody but yeah I felt like it made sense for me.

  31. Maybe he had reservations about selling them and didn’t like the low ball offers or just the offers he was getting and said they were sold but actually kept them? I’ll admit I’ve done the same before. I’ve had my Chorus II up for sale and I grew frustrated with so many low ball offers and weird trade offers(trade for guns) that I just kept them. I was only selling to fund Forte III's but was convinced to stick with the Chorus II. Now I’d probably only trade them for CF-4s or trade plus cash for KHorns. Possibly La Scalas. The Chorus I I don’t really have an attachment to so in a moment of curiosity I offered them for trade for the KLF-30 hours after the ad went up on Craigslist and he didn’t even respond.

  33. Most tube amps sound pretty good with these speakers. Can’t say the same for solid state. Over the last 15 years, I’ve only heard three solid state amps that cut the mustard. Most I couldn’t get out of the house fast enough. There are two that I would really like to try, but they’re just too expensive. Any modestly priced tube amp, regardless of topology, will do very well. SET sounds good, but will run out of gas in many rooms. My opinion is that you need at least 25 wpc to do any real work. It’s easier to find a good sounding tube amp than a good sounding solid state amp - unless you have very deep pockets.

  35. First heard Chorus II a few months back, from this gear dealer and Klipsch lover in Houston, out in the middle of his crowded small living room. He also had Cornwall Is to audition, right there in the same space. He plugged in some lamp cord and plugged the other end into a Carver powerhouse! Toto 'Hold The Line" was freaking rockin' the house! The shear dynamics and authority was overwhelming. My friend was looking for speakers, and I was getting him into Klipsch, so I set up the session. He wanted to hear the Cornwalls, but the Chorus IIs were on my bucket list to listen to. We listened to the Cornwalls first and he said, meh...I wasn't in the market that day so he bought the Chorus IIs on the spot! Later he brought them over for a listen; actually he wanted a shootout with my newly acquired CF-4s. One thing I noticed was the 'graininess' with the Chorus IIs. He was lovin on the sound of the CF-4s, so I politely suggested maybe a crossover update was in order. I will pass along the upgrade possibilities to him.
