I used my beater LS for a Filipino Christmas party a couple of years ago. the room was 49x37 with 20 ft ceilings. The dance floor wasn't a very large part of that as we also had a sit down dinner. Pretty stock with k-400 horns, etc. I was very surprised at the amount of bass they put out. Folks had NO trouble listening/hearing the music and would get up and shake it whenever I started a series of tunes. A pair of subs would have been nice to have... All the music was played back from a PC, which was running MIXXX, a dj mixer program (free), for windows or linux. https://mixxx.org/2 points

We have winter again, it has been snowing since the early morning. Shoot this pic in the morning as well . Meanwhile, the snow cover is already 4 inches high.2 points

Magnet structure steel plates are typically plated with a "zinc chromite" plating. I know of at least clear, yellow, and black. There is no difference in magnetic performance, and the change might have been "environmentally" influenced.2 points

Thank you, I will have a listen with my current amps for a while as I research what is out there. I might even see if I can have my main 2 amps I listed serviced and re-capped locally.2 points

Good to know, yes I do find the lack of features on modern amps somewhat boring. I tend to run flat, but I do like to subtly adjust the eq when needed, and I like the Yamaha style variable loudness control.2 points

As others have said, I encourage you to try the new Cornwalls with your existing amps for at least a few months. I predict you will be amazed at how good they sound. I'm driving my new Fortes with a 50 year old Marantz 1060 that has been recapped and it is great! I've also purchased an inexpensive Class D amp that I've been playing with. Each has it's own character, but I can't say one is better than the other...just different. Congratulations on the purchase, and welcome to the forums.2 points

I saw the Guess Who, as openers for Brewer & Shipley (their main hit was 'One toke over the line'). A rather strange pairing for a concert if ever there was one. The GW were awful, too, but the p.a. system didn't do loud r&r justice. It was mostly their amps on stage that carried the performance.2 points

I moved the La Scalas in and now these need a new home. A stock. Purchased last winter to replace the last set of La Scalas, they are in pristine condition with no marks, flaws, scrapes or issues. Frankly. they are just broken in. Include all paperwork and boxes. And no, I do not consider grills an issue; they are an annoyance and an adjustment similar to taking a new car back to the dealer for work. They are fixed and look as below. $3000. While they could be shipped (probably $300, more if they cross the Rockies), I'd prefer local pick up or I'd be willing to drive them a reasonable distance for the price of some fuel. Please email any questions. Thanks. Mike1 point

I've been jotting down these ?words? for a couple of months from TV adds. No idea what they are for but they do make me wonder about the English language, among other things. I guess they are nouns but are they in a dictionary? RYBELSUS, CABENUVA, TREMFYA, OZEMPIC, HUMIRA, FLUZONE, PRILOSEC, BIKTARVY, PREVNAR, DUPIXENT, DESKOVY, SHINGRIX, TRULICITY, ENTYVIO, NEURIVA, XIAFLEX (I saw "Bent Carrot") in that one, CAPLYTA, STELARA, NUPLAZID, PREVAGEN, LINZESS, SKYIRZI, VRAYLAR, VAZALORE, PROLIA, ENBREL, DESCOVY, ENTYVIO, FASENRA, INGREZZA, FARXIGE, OTEZLA, COSENTYX, TEPEZZA (Bulging eyes?), NERVIVE, KISQALI. Please excuse any spelling mistakes. HaHa1 point

The newer Khorns mentioned are pretty much out of my price range, and messing around with mods like fake corners is more then I want to pursue unless it's a deal too good to pass up. And even then, they would have to be pretty dang outstanding to better what I already get from my LS's, which, BTW, I and wife love the way they look and they seem made for my room .1 point

Thanks, Randy. I'll look for screw A. Billybob --- my daughter has been using this for over a year. Sat before that, but I had it looked over before she started using it. It looks to me like at least some of the parts are lubed, so I image that occurred when it was looked over. Of course, she hadn't complained about anything until recently.1 point

I don't think you have ever steered me wrong Claude! But I am sure that's what all us junkies think about their pushers. 😉1 point

I think one has screen Protection and other one is naked no the driver is not removed the newly to me CF4 V1 is on the bottom and my CF4 V2 on top I have listen to them side by side and it’s really hard to tell the difference yes there’s tiny difference but it’s hard to1 point

I agree. My khorns were on the short wall of a 26 X 15 room. The room was plenty big enough, but 15' corners didn't allow them to shine. I always felt like I was either too far away or too close. Another 3-4 ft of width would have been perfect.1 point

Nice work but I dont see a chick with a pick😜 Just a reminder. We do have a separate section called " babes on bass"😀 https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/202060-babes-on-bass/1 point

At one time I had a 28’ x 24’ room with a set of Khorns along the 28 ‘ wall , the sound was incredible. But if you don’t have an optimal room they will suffer in their presentation to some degree. In smaller less optimal rooms I believe that the Lascala has certain advantages ,for example the height of the squawker is better placed for closer listening ,Lascala allows for easy toe in adjustment and easy width adjustment . Overall the Lascala offers much more flexibility , which makes it more desirable in many cases. But is it better , to me it depends.🤓1 point

I felt the same way as far as it being overpriced especially since I plan on buying a different avr. I have another subwoofer, klipsch wireless 12. I want him to just sell me the speakers and keep the Yamaha and knock of $10001 point

It's called UShip Rudy and you don't have to drive. Getting ready to send another set of speakers off this way and so far with great success. Much cheaper than driving and you get them delivered to your front door by people who seem to care.1 point

What's going in already is a PAIR of double 18" subs + pair of LSI midbass horns PER CHANNEL. Please see OP. The question is this, once again: What's the best top for this application: single LSI high section (mid+tweeter) VS the K402 (K-691). Will be using DSP as all commercial install do. Limiters and compressors are needed to keep DJs from blowing up system. I will be clear that there are other priorities, in addition to sound quality. Listenability at high SPL. Fun factor over accuracy. thank you!1 point

Where possible. I had tried giving away a pile of input cups too a while back and no takers. Lucky me since I needed a fuse holder for a set of KPT-456's last week. No fear on the capacitors though as they have been replaced with new.1 point

Having owned both it's Klipschorns all the way for me, but I have an excellent room for them. Now that I have them time alligned and with K402s on top (and a devistator sub below) I think I have gone as far as I will with two channel. But even without time alignment I was surprised at how much better the K-horns sounded in my room. Both the Klischorn and LaScala have compromises baked in, however the ability to fairly easily time align truly gives the K-horn the edge with far superior bass. YMMV1 point

I had a Dali once but sold it when all the authentication garbage began here in the US. I had "The Invisible Man," which I found very interesting. Picked it up at a gallery in Columbus. Had the authenticity paperwork but who knows. Just got freaky so I made a lil money. Made the decision to just hang my photography work and my rock stuff. I'm just totally outta room. So I look for another photo cause I'm putting it together in here and this pops up. It's been a minute if you eyeball the ticket price. 😂 I was consolidating my old tickets/passes in a box and ran across this ticket. No idea who signed it until one day a friend piped up at jam nite tellin another lie on me. It was all about me taking him up to see Tom Petty. I didn't remember but kinda did. Then the story rolled out. We got there and went down to our seats. He went in first and we sat down. Minute later he says isn't that Michael Stanley sitting beside me? I was clueless so looked down and yea it was him. So? Well Chris got my ticket and asked him to sign them ,(tourist mode), which he did. The backstory is Michael yelled down to me after that and invited me back for coffee after the show. Petty/coffee? 24/7, 365. Petty comes out and sees (he knew Michael was there and where he was sitting) Michael waves and goes up to do a couple numbers. So Michael tells me he'll see me later on the way out and up. So yea we, went back and it wasn't til recently it all came back to me. 25 years later he's all excited telling me all about his amazing night. hahaha To me it was just another easy drive outta the venue. At my age I just look at it a bit differently today. Two more friends down and just another day on the road. Guess I'll have to do something w/tickets/passes/sticky icky passes, picks, slides, sticks and other junk. lol No more long stories either, just saw the pic so figured I'd share the concept. My morning chuckle. 😂1 point

I bought a set of Coaster brand theater recliners (4-pack that fits together in a small arc) NIB from a local fellow who mistakenly thought he could fit two rows in his smallish theater room. They've worked great for me. Only three positions- upright, slightly reclined and fully reclined. I watch my 42" from all three angles alternately. Very comfortable for such inexpensive seating. Leather and leathermatch materials, manual cable release type mechanism. They came with 4 of the Aura bass shakers that I've never installed but might one day. I've sat in a friend's large, costly electrically reclining, very cushy theater seats that hurt my back after only one showing because they were too soft. These have enough support and are slightly smaller scale, yet still fit my roadie-frame very comfortably. If I had to do it again I'd seriously look at these same models - I like them that much! I think I paid $750 for the four, which at the time was about 1/2 the new price (about 8 years ago), the same thing is probably about $2K for a four-pack these days.1 point

yes, JimJimbo has them now. They were local to Indy from the Trader newpaper - probably got them in the 80's they had survived a house fire stacked in a closet for storage, were half blown up and smelled like a bonfire for a couple of years. CWO with pretty torn up edge banding as I recall.1 point

Set up quite a large PA for our northside's CarmelFest last night. First song out of the box to test the PA was Roundabout. Then a band later played some Zep so I was in heaven man.1 point

I had acquired these thinking I would build an all-Cornwall home theater, later kept them for a potential LS/CW theater, with these black lovelies serving LG surround duty. But now I have KPT904 and KPT250 for a 6.1 channel setup. Being so desperately dark - they'd be a very nice set of L+R for some guy who loves the all black look or just wanting the speakers to not reflect light from the screen. I've been through 4 full sets of Home Theater speakers and I haven't even built the room yet.... geesh.1 point
