  1. Some misinformation is circulating about Onkyo Home Entertainment's recent bankruptcy filing with regards to Premium Audio Company. The good news is that our PAC umbrella company bought the intellectual property to Onkyo and Integra in a joint venture with Sharp last year and the legendary Onkyo and Integra brands will live on for decades to come. 3. Doing some cleaning... pulled up more old stuff that I wanted to hear one appropriate great tune in. I found another as they were filing this place, it's right before the song I put it on for. The lyrics fit ALL this ---- generation that is h%ll bent on destruction. At least I hope this thought fits! Could they be salvaged? Would there be redemption? See all the people With hatred in their eyes I can't help thinking that It's only a disguise Cause underneath that core There's got to be more Than what we realize Maybe they're scared To let the inside out Maybe they're afraid to Show what they're all about So they put on a heavy front and hope that no one else Can work them out So they put on all the heaviness But its only an illusion heaviness Can't you see They're scared to Show a little bit of emotion A little bit of real emotion In case a little bit of emotion Gives them away Look at that lady dancing around with no clothes She'll give you all her body That's if you've got the dough She'll let you see most Anything but there's one thing That she'll never show And that's a little bit of real emotion A little bit of true emotion In case a little bit of emotion Gives her away But it's a shame she's acting that way Somehow she's gotta get through every day And the only way Is not to show one little bit of emotion A little bit of true emotion In case a little bit of emotion gives her away People learn their lines And they act out their part Then they talk on cue But it's got no heart It's all on the surface And it's all contrived They're scared to come out Somehow they've got to survive Look at that looney With a smile on his face He knows no shame And feels no disgrace He's got a look in his eyes That makes it seem that he's from outer space Maybe that looney knows what it's all about He's got something to say But he can't spit it out He's uncoordinated so we shut him out In case he shows a little bit of emotion A little bit of real emotion We're afraid to see a bit of emotion So we walk away Show a little bit of real emotion Show a little bit of emotion We're afraid to see a bit of emotion So we walk away Author: Ray Davies

  4. Oh yeah, that just last week and it was snowing. Starting dumping during the concert. The photo is after the show and we were parked by the locked bike on the curb. It belonged to a theater employee who didn’t look too enthused about the situation so we gave him a ride home and saved him from a slog through the slop. I think we got about 6 inches of snow that night. All gone now, almost 70 today and I was able to get in a nice bike ride.

  7. It's the album that shouldn't exist. At least from the point of view of the old management of Tears For Fears, that legendary multi-platinum duo of the eighties. But The Tipping Point exists nonetheless. What Tears For Fears have created with their seventh is a great pop album. Not a self-referential work of old age, not a shameful attempt to turn back the clocks 40 years with hip producers. The maturity that pervades this album is as elegant as it is aesthetically pleasing, the immaculately arranged, sparkling songs all evidence of this band's great talent. 9. That bed got 3/4 of an inch this morning according to the gain gauge. Those pansies are gona make it! lol Got an email from my landscaper. $1800 for what I want to do out front and out back. She had a couple good ideas she threw into the mix w/my thoughts. Almost brought tears to my eyes knowing I could have saved about $1200 if I could do it myself. When I responded I cut one thing out cause I'm going to move some pachysandra (I transplanted from another location 10 years ago) out back by the patio. THAT I can handle. She wanted two kids to pull the grass out that's mixed in w/it. Pullin grass all day for big bucks? Did it myself the last time. I saw her eyes light up cause she asked if I wanted it taken out. hahaha Wrong! Price check? 4 4inch starts for $32 today? hahaha She's not skoolin me I'm skoolin her. ) I just told her to let me know when they were coming and I'd have my shoebox full of $100's ready. Good thing I know her dad and mom well. hahaha

  10. Simple and good, takes me back. Thought you were alluding to that song once recently @billybob! Cleaned out around the bushes out front. I forgot my vitamins earlier. I'll take that B-complex out, it makes me zoom for about eight hours in a different way than my breakfast coffee does. Do need to eat something... meanwhile:

  15. Was really hoping it was going to be a high quality subwoofer since the current line-up is just not up to par with competition. Really disappointed and just don't understand why Klipsch does not manufacture a subwoofer in Hope that would pair well with the Heritage line. Price is not a concern for this loyal fan base of which I'm included. Just don't get it? What happened to The Beast?

  19. Have seen what lightening can do to A/V equipment without protection and with a 100 dollar strip that saved alot of equipment while sacrificing itself to smithereens. Just makes sense in Florida and others. Did not sell Panamax to others, but recommended use of protection to customers. Using a 50 dollar Belkin at the moment. Plenty of plug ins. Phone landlines, coaxial cables on some models. Lots online about joules.

  20. read this review in the german Musicmagazin " Rolling Stone " But what do Marillion have in their suitcase in 2022? With the new double LP "An Hour Before It's Dark" Marillion fans get a thoroughly multi-layered work, which even flashes borrowings from the earlier Fish area and goes through epic phases, such as those known from Genesis It´s getting dark here in germany right now , time to play Marillion´s " An hour before it´s dark " 2022 / Edel Label / Printed in Germany

  22. Of course - and what’s wrong with that?! I think most people would find it hugely enlightening to learn that a group of people, when blinded, can’t reliably distinguish one cable from another. Or one amp. Or one DAC., etc…. Preferences are subjective and can’t be debated. But the ability to actually hear a difference can be objectively determined.

  26. It's the most variable component of all. I had a great Klipsch Wife. Before our Wedding, she co-signed for my very first bank loan so I could order my Khorns. They arrived about 2 weeks after our Honeymoon. She even left the premises to spend the day with her parents, while my 2 friends and I went to pick them up from our dealer. When we divorced, she kept her 1983 Oiled Oak Heresys, while I got to keep my MWM Horn Stack and Subs, having long sold off my second pair of Khorns for the "Pro Klipsch Stuff." This is an incurable disease with no suffering whatsoever, unless you owned Bose 901's. If you did, you experienced Gross Intermodulation Distortion, since PWK's measurements showed them to be one of the worst designs. But you have to admire the "Bose Marketing" BS because of the sales they made to ignorant consumers!

  27. The secret to manufacturers' success and the perceived efficacy of things like the 'High End Novum PMR Premium Mk.II - Room Acoustic Resonator" is a collection of magic words written by guys like this: Don Draper Magic words like "quantum," "sweetens," "clarifies," "focus," "definition," and "tunneling" (which taps unconscious memory traces of Roto Rooter and High Colonic to clean that cable right out). It happens I may help market a sound enhancement supplement, but I don't have a Don Draper, so I'll just describe it, and hope nobody can uncover the trade secrets that make it work so well. "Do you long for more enjoyable sound from your stereo system? The problem is a lack of the radiant fire, splendor and tenderness that we sometimes hear with live music. Also, while many people who allow themselves to become absorbed in music played on their stereo system have a vivid memory of the beginning and ending of a lengthy work (think a symphony or an oratorio), there is what we call the Glanzer, Cunitz, Atkinson, and Shiffrin (in their honor) memory GAP for the middle part of the selection. Take our supplement, Sforzando, 15 minutes before listening and feel your cortical arousal increase just before the beginning of the music, and enhance the hippocampal response, so the music seems to glow. In addition to proprietary ingredients obtained from Aplysia and other sea slugs, we include two of the Earth's most beneficial and easily assimilated nutrients (C21H30O2 and C8H10N4O2 ). All of these provide maximum clarity and definition of stereo music reproduction, as well as enhancing memory of music (even the middle parts). Listeners will no longer have to sit in the "sweet spot" for optimum enjoyment; with the proper dose of our supplement, you'll be happy anywhere in the room. There is an optimum level of arousal and other brain states for the enjoyment of music, and detailed perception of the imaging, sound staging, clarity, as well as effortlessness and high dynamics. As an example, the very middle of the following curve is the optimum arousal level for enjoyable and high memorability music listening. Enjoyment/Memorability Cortical Arousal Either too low or too high a level of arousal lessens the pleasure. Sforzando will provide the correct amount of each nutrient to produce the optimum brain state to enjoy music as you have never before! You'll remember it as long as you live! Watch this space for price list, coming soon."

  28. No one is telling people what to do! Maybe you don't care, but others, particularly newer audio hobbyists, might appreciated learning about a more objectivist point of view. ..One that values validity testing and acknowledges the power of bias. And there's certainly nothing wrong w/ shining a BS light on companies who seek to collect lots of money from people peddling nonsense. If you want to put tuning rocks on your speakers, go for it. ..No one is stopping you. But don't waste your breath trying to stop us from calling it BS.

  34. Precisely my point... blind testing doesn't test whether something is better or worse. as you said, in this context, it only tests whether or not a listener can discern a difference... and top that off with personal preference bias. What's worse is when the tester uses extrapolation to try and project test results that fits a narrative... a horrible technique that yields huge errors in data. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't really know that much.

  36. Couldn't agree more with Claude - break-in is a myth that manufactures allow to persist because it serves their interest by reducing returns. I would add interconnects and power cords to the list as well. ...And probably the idea that separates (power amp and pre-amp as separate components) offer an audible advantage. These days, integrated amplifiers have S/N ratios, channel separation, and THD that exceed our hearing threshold. ..Any minuscule improvement gained by separates is not apt to be audible and probably not even measurable. That of course doesn't mean there aren't other sensible reasons to go with separates.

  38. I have thought many times over the years I was odd, but being here it might not be as bad as I thought, or we are just all odd, either way it's good. And yes I know I a blessed in many ways and yes there is more than this life.

  39. Thank you, i thought were about the same age. Yes but answer to anything, I know it's odd, should see my last name it's just as strange. Luquet, even my teachers in school got it wrong, it's all good. Not even close, if there was any legend connected it was not for good things way back then. We do but we also have fun, I'm just not good at being recognized, it's unconfertable, but also don't want to be rude and not thank people.
