  3. Well a deal came up I couldn't pass up on a brand new pair they shipped out today. I've wanted a pair since they were introduced but waited patiently for the right deal. Should be interesting to compare them to the new 362's and others I have sitting around.

  4. So, is this the best $9.99 I ever spent? I'm sorta feeling like yeah, it is. I hooked up my sub last night, via speaker cables to and from the sub, and it was not awesome. But this little LOC, intended for a car stereo subwoofer connection, arrived today. Wow it actually delivers! Is it really hi-fi? I don't know and I don't care. Now I can just focus on enjoying my La Scalas and not critique each song for a lack of bass. You may think there is no way a 12"sub can keep up with these speakers, and that is certainly true, but at even moderately high volume the sub adds that punch I was missing.

  5. Yea Dave I had some fun yesterday once I got the digital rig set up again! Turned the sub from 30 down to 40 for now. Took the king size pillows, put one in each opposite corner. Two regulars between the closets directly in line with the sub behind my chair, then the last extra behind the sub that's still two feet out from the wall until the second coats. Pulled the RP600s out a bit more too. Bass is more tight and soundstage improved with that. Funny what I heard in the kitchen then was improved even more! Got rid of the boom!

  8. I was suprised from the musical beauty when I spun Steve Hackett´s " please don´t touch " today, it´s his second solo album after he left Genesis . Guestsinger were Richie Havens and Randy Crawford than I spun the english ProgRock Band Nektar with their Album " Magic is a Child "

  9. I wanted to pull the trigger on a new pair of La Scala’s. But after reading that a Special pair of La Scala’s were used to demo the new horn subwoofer’s I’m going to hold off. I’m sure NDF’s were signed during the Subfest but is it reasonable to assume that new La Scala AL6 may be coming in the spring or summer?

  15. As that picture and the words below it are mine, I know some things. Not much as Roy was very cagey about this, but a little. However, if I told you I'd have to kill you. 🙂 Sorry. If you want to find out for yourself, I suspect that the Chief Bonehead Education Class slated to be given at this year's PWK Birthday Bash will reveal a great deal more. I tentatively plan to attend. If we're allowed to post about it afterwards, I will do so as I did for SubFest back in November.

  21. I boiled some hamburgers last night and woke up this morning to some more snow coming down as the temp continued to drop all day. A friend of mine up in VA grows some of those big herb plants. I told him he must be doing something wrong as I still haven’t seen any tomatoes on the bushes he has staked up out back.

  24. Listened to some very nice Steely Dan this morning... from 72 - 80 on those two long discs. Then Sting's Blue Turtles, that's a must have in my book! Now onto my favorite R&R singer the last couple decades. If you'd seen him perform... you'd know why These two from Audioslave hit me right today. Actually the whole release does!

  26. Interesting, I've always wanted to get more involved as to which pressing are the better pressing, but it takes time that i dont have at the moment. Great video with real world experience. I for one can't understand with all of this technology these days, that why the quality of vinyl pressings aren't more superior that what they are. I am not a physical digital media guy, but do run a hi res digital download source in my systems. I think the good thing about download over physical is that you don't have inconsistencies between material. I enjoyed this with coffee this morning, Thanks for sharing.

  29. Horn subs are something else. I’m so used to the effortless bass with virtually zero distortion of mine that any direct radiating design doesn’t come close to matching.

  30. I heard the recent version was pretty darn good. I wonder what could be improved on? I can't tell from the photos, but that is some pretty dark grill cloth. Which makes me wonder if it's possible they go 2 way with the new active system they are using for the Heritage Jubilees. I doubt that be the case as that would completely change the speaker, but wishful thinking.

  31. Started with this a little while ago @GWSmith : Now it's like: Ahhh, Hybrid Tubes with 100 watts per channel, a good disc... & I'm listening to Klipsch again. Yep baby Klipsch, but through the DAC and Analog treatment my rig gives it they sound great!! The ikea-like desk fell apart when i moved my stuff around, this will suffice until the next phase hits! This room's bare and the sub is way out from the back wall but I'll get some king sized pillows from the closet and throw in the corners in a bit.

  35. What do you mean by 30Hz setting? Should it play exactly like that or deeper? I have already researched several amplifiers that can play deeper. The MA252 is specified at 20 Hz. Maybe other recommendations whitch is a good match? The prices of the two brands are already high.

  37. Hello, I know your post was from late '22 on 2 pair of Bells you were selling and no doubt by now have found new homes. I am in search of a sequential pair of Bells in oiled oak for a friend. New on this site. Thank you anyone for your feedback.

  38. They fit nicely in the back of my Durango. I probably won't get them out of the car until tomorrow. Current plan, subject to any other advice on this forum, is to dsconnect, clean with deoxit, and reconnect all speaker connections to the XOs. If tweeter and/or mid still dead, I'll swap each to the other speaker and try again. Is a silent tweeter a sign of a bad diaphragm or should I still have a blown speaker sound to it? Hoping the fact that both are silent but one on each speaker is due to the connections. Fingers crossed.

  39. Swap the speakers on your amp/receiver first and see if it’s an amp or speaker problem.
