  2. This is a new 3lp pressing that dropped a while back. Yes Sir, it's everything they say it is. Crazy dark but fantastic in it's own way! In a class all of it's own and "they" say it was his best. I'd tend to agree with them cause it's wild in it's own way! If ya like him it's a must have especially in the 3 disc format. Crazy good! Malcolm John Rebennack Jr. (November 20, 1941 – June 6, 2019), better known by his stage name Dr. John, was an American singer and songwriter. His music combined New Orleans blues, jazz, funk, and R&B.[1] The Sun, Moon & Herbs is a 1971 studio album by New Orleans R&B artist Dr. John, noted for its contributions from Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, and other well-known musicians. It was originally intended to be a three-album set but was cut down to a single disc.[4] The album was described by James Chrispell on AllMusic as "dark and swampy" and "best listened to on a hot, muggy night with the sound of thunder rumbling off in the distance like jungle drums".[1]

  4. my turn to sound like an old fogey... when I went to the Dr for my leg, they stole some blood and ran a few tests... PSA is good liver is in good shape and my lipid panel is OK .. not great I'm rather surprised. I kinda thought I had abused myself more ... ... but then science is showing much of what I was doing for fun [the anti-drug films didn't work] are now being shown to been good. Damn hippies were right, I guess

  5. I miss Dave, he was a good dude with good stuff. I wish I had the extra cash as there is a pair of his horns up for sale. Those and the EV HP640 with the Faitals are hard to beat. I still have Dave's Fastlane Drifts as surround speakers.

  6. Started in on a Supertramp roll w/ @grasshopper over in CC&C so here we go on a roll. lol Crisis? What Crisis? is the fourth album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in 1975. It was recorded in Los Angeles and London – Supertramp's first album to have recording done in the US. Funny, now Hodgson, who had no vision for this album, said in the mid-80's it's his favorite lp. lol Supertramp is the debut album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in August 1970.[3] It was not released in the United States until late 1977, but available through importers and was usually carried in record stores that specialised in British imports. The 1977 issue reached No. 158 on the US Billboard 200.[4] Indelibly Stamped is the second album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in 1971. It marked a dramatic change in direction to a more straightforward rock sound, and by admission of the band's own liner notes, "Travelled" is the only song with any resemblance to their debut album. Like their debut, this album was a commercial failure upon release, but in later decades it went gold in France and Canada. The cover photograph features the tattooed torso and arms of a topless woman. This is the first Supertramp album issued in the U.S.; the cover was in colour (in 1971), but A&M pasted two gold stars over the nipples. The album was banned from a number of record stores in Australia, while others sold each copy inside a brown paper sleeve. No gold stars on this lp! How'd that happen? 😂 The rest is history but yea I've got a ton of 'em just too lazy to take the pics. lol Breakfast in America sounds absolutely fantastic right now! Just got up off my butt and tweeked out "Child of Visions." Ahhhhhhmazing song! Hit it and crank it up!

  8. That's about 11 hours round trip. @avguytx, you're overthinking it. They're only 5 and a half hours away. There's more than 11 hours of sanding and finishing. 🙂 While you're there, you can swing on down to @Dave A to listen to his Super MWM with 402s and his two-way dual 12" woofer with tractrix horn speakers....AND get a pair of tractrix tweeters to go with the Dave Harris Epitrac 400s. Roadtrip - linear fun New speakers - exponential enjoyment Epitrac speakers - tractrix... I mean priceless

I promise to get right. someday. Thanks for having me. I'll start a thread in the lounge area. Won't be a new member post. It will just be a music thing and a link.

  13. Good questions. I use a SBX4VC 4 channel speaker selector. Each channel has an individual volume control.(The large circular knob) I use this to set the SPL's using a white noise signal so that both sets of speakers play at the same volume... therefore removing the perception of the louder one being the better one. You can switch instantly by pressing the selector buttons.(The oval ones) So it's not like a lot of people that compare speakers like this... " Well, I heard a set of RF-7's when I was 30, then I heard a set of RF-7 II's when I was 50 and boy...."

  14. Mid 50's today here in Duckburg. Rain coming thru tomorrow evening then some varying temps for a few days. Just about to turn the corner in the next couple weeks it looks like from the forecast. Who knows. Deer are crazy. Group of us left a bar after a gig to do a lil road trippin about 4AM. I was driving on some two-lane and came to a sharp curve, made the curve and there they were. I'd say about 200 of em standing on both sides of the road starin into my headlights. Wanna talk about freaking out? They wanted me to stop so they could get out and pet 'em? Crazy but true. We still laff about it but to hear them talk now it was at least a thousand. 😂

  15. @AndreG. Dream Theater? Yea, I chuckled. Boys take ya for a ride? lol Nice video @dirtmudd thanks! Have most of them but made a lil list. It's fun throwin 'em down today for a lil change of pace. Been years since I've heard a lot of them. Now WHERE is that ELP Brain salad? Everything BUT that. I did all 4 stops in 71 at the old Cleveland Public auditorium on their Tarkus tour. After the response to the initial show we had them back for 3 nights in a row in the spring.. Then in 74 they did the World Series of Rock at the old Cleveland stadium. That's the one that just about killed me. That gong... lolol The hunt begins! It's here somewhere! 😂

This was a very difficult project to sand and prep once the assembly was complete. Would never want to do this project again LOL. They came out great! The horns and tweeter lenses sound amazing with your favorite compression drivers. Pick Up Only Clarksville TN. 375.00 OBO P.S. Forum members maybe wondering why I am selling. Unfortunately, I have lost a lot of my hearing and can no longer listen to music. I am selling a little at a time. It has been a long ride. It always could be worse I tell myself LOL. Thanks, Rich

  29. Just a few from yesterday's run. Crazy day today cause I'm loadin up again! Watchin a bit of college hoops, volume down and cookin with gas! Straight Shooter is the second studio album by the English hard rock supergroup Bad Company. The album was released on 28 March 1975.[5] The album reached number 3 on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.[6][7] It was certified gold (500,000 units sold) by the Recording Industry Association of America a month after its release.[8] The album was remastered and re-released in 1994. The track "Shooting Star" (written by lead singer Paul Rodgers) was lyrically inspired by the drug and alcohol-related deaths of guitarist Jimi Hendrix and other rock musicians. Full Moon Fever is the debut solo studio album by Tom Petty, released on April 24, 1989, by MCA Records. It features contributions from members of his band the Heartbreakers, notably Mike Campbell, as well as Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison (who died prior to its release), and George Harrison, Petty's bandmates in the Traveling Wilburys.[2][3] The record shows Petty exploring his musical roots with nods to his influences.[4] The songwriting is mainly collaborations between Petty and Lynne, who was also a producer on the album. Full Moon Fever became a commercial and critical success, peaking at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and being certified 5× platinum in the United States and 6× platinum in Canada.[5][6][7] Cheap Thrills is the second studio album by American rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, issued by Columbia Records in 1968. Cheap Thrills was the band's final album with lead singer Janis Joplin before she left to begin a solo career. For Cheap Thrills, the band and producer John Simon incorporated recordings of crowd noises to give the impression of a live album, for which it was subsequently mistaken by many listeners. Only "Ball and Chain" was actually recorded in concert at the Winterland Ballroom.[2][3] Cheap Thrills reached number one on the charts for eight nonconsecutive weeks in 1968. If you ain't got it ya darn sure better git it! Classic and Janis is ahhhhmazing! Sometimes You Win is a studio album by the American band Dr. Hook, released in 1979. It was produced by Ron Haffkine.[2] The album contains three of the band's most commercially successful singles: "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" (also included on their previous album Pleasure and Pain), "Better Love Next Time" and "Sexy Eyes."

  31. Though there are plans posted in various places, I don't know that any of them are official (in fact, I rather doubt that any of them are 'approved') None the less.... the bass bin would be easy enough (for a competent wood worker) the secret sauce is getting the big K402 horn on top. It's the K402 that seems to be where the magic is. It works well on a variety of bass bins. I don't know how to reach anyone anymore... but there was a pair in Cologne (Koln) Germany and a couple pair in / near London. Over time, there might be another one or two but there are certainly not many (should you care to hear them to see what it's all about) In case you don't know.... realize that PWK set out to take the 3-way Khorn back to a 2-way. Roy Delgado was helping him out. When it was all said & done, the Jubilee was created. Unfortunately, things went different in the corporate world and the company decided to not put the Jubilee in the residential lineup.....but..... realized it (the Jubilee) was so good, it would fit in the cinema lineup so, that is where you can find info on it. If you can get your hands on the K402, the rest (in my opinion) is going to be relatively easy. (buy a bass bin, have one built... use a different bass bin)

  33. For the K402 guys...........I have a couple of pairs of them. One pair is on a 2-way setup with DBB bass cabinets, the other is on an MCM setup. I have used K69, TAD 4002, Faital Pro, and BMS 4592ND coaxial. Nothing comes close to the clarity and sweetness TADs. No matter what I did with the other drivers or system equipment. The BMS is next best IMHO and has a ton of HF energy. Actually, these are still pretty new to me and I'm still working with them. I like them a lot. They are not as clear sounding as the TADs though. The strength here is that they are coxials and in a 2-way system there is no way I would consider going 3-way. There are plenty of crispy highs. These are currently on my DBB system. I liked the Faitals as well. These were very respectable and I was satisified with them on the DBB system. Very good highs and needed less EQ than the K-69. Not close to the clarity of a TAD but similar HF energy. Just a good sounding driver on a 402. The K69 works pretty well if you use Roy D.'s settings. He has spent a lot of time optimizing this budget driver on the K402, and it DOES have a lot of specific EQ requirements. But as you can read here, every other driver I put on the K402 has sounded quite a bit better. I took the Faitals off of the Dbb/402s and put them on a pair of 510s and run them above the 402/TADs on my MCM-4 grand (covering 6K-20K). Right now I'm frustrated with this setup. The system sounds much better as an MCM-3 with just TADs on the 402s covering 600-20K......and no 510s. I thought going to an MCM-4 would be great and better than an MCM-3, but I haven't quite figured out setting up the 510/Faitals just yet. Lots of "hash" up top. I am of the belief the TADs are simply the magic of a K402 setup. If you can ever get a pair with the berylium drivers........Get 'em! You'll love 'em. They are worth every penny if you are serious enough. I may need another pair for my 510s.

  34. " it hasn't been stated in Wikipedia" That's correct, it hasn't been stated, and it should be stated. B-Radial is a JBL trademark for their constant directivity horns. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jblpro.com%2Fpub%2Fobsolete%2F23606566.pdf&ei=1SUwUtKzM8rmrAGnzIGgBQ&usg=AFQjCNGLVJYG_XX0FBWHdIloDBneG9XwLQ&sig2=2syoRSqIYLax6B_RmQz_1w&bvm=bv.51773540,d.aWM Compare those with the EV HP640, the 640 numbers look better than either the 2360 or 2365, and sounds better due to the lack of the long tail and narrow slot. The 640 will also fit well on top of a Klipschorn bottom. The 640 is not perfect, but I like it.

  35. It's hard to break some of the laws of physics. The Tangent 400 IS a larger Heresy II. Even the crossover is labeled as HII The original Tangent 400 cabinet isn't very solid, but building your own from some nice ply woud go a LONG way toward solving that.Bruce

  40. Have you tried to switch the center with one of the fronts to see if the hum goes with the center or stays in the center? If it stays in the center then its not the speaker and you need to look else where. Try and keep the speaker wire from running parrallel with power cords. 41. Welcome.... Have you tried setting your KLF to large and moving the crossover on the CT-120 to around 50? I think that having the KLF's going as low as possible helps the stereo image and intergaration with the sub. I watched Pearl Harbor and loved the sound and eye candy, but I thought that the love story was kinda of corny IMHO. My wife was able to tell the whole plot after he came back from the dead I have a pair of Quentets as rears until the funds come available for a pair of heresy's.
