  2. Time to ride or die! THAT was yesterday around my place. Rode that coaster once and it's killer. How's yer heart tough guys??? Mine was thumpin last night just like it was when I rode that thing... 60 miles north of me on the coast of Lake Erie here in Ohio. Bring your A game & the kids. I got the lodging covered here. Hour north to heaven or H3ll ! lol Being the tallest roller coaster and the first to top 300 feet wasn’t the only records broken when it opened in 2000. It debuted having the longest drop and the fastest speed topping out at 93 m.p.h. Ranking as one of the world’s best steel coasters year after year since its opening, this behemoth shoots riders over hills, past lagoons and through tunnels, all at unthinkable speeds. With its silhouette illuminated in the night sky, it’s hard miss the iconic coaster on the Cedar Point skyline. About the only way I can describe last evening. A roller coaster. I unzipped the Dom Martin lp's, quick eyeball and laid them here on the arm of the couch for later. Finally figured I'd throw them on for a listen. After I ordered them I'd heard them on youtube and thought this dude's act IS together. Little did I know HOW together. Turned on my "aura" over the table to take a quick photo for in here and filled my shorts. Signed? Personalized? WTF is going on here??? I didn't buy any signed copies so I hit the site to make sure. Nope. How? Why? It was going around in my head and I was loving it. So this dude tours then gets home and signs lp's for people randomly? Who knows but I'm forever grateful and WILL be sittin front row or preferably a tour case (it's cheaper and my rear fits one) when he hits the US. It was almost as nice when my youngest daughter walks in the door @ Christmas. Home from Phoenix. Just crazy! Forever grateful for him doing that. They'll be in Crate #2 of signed stuff. That way I'll know where to find them in this mess of lp's stacked everywhere. Dom Martin (29) is a Belfast born award winning singer/songwriter, inspired but not constrained by the blues. In the past 18 months he has burst onto the UK and European music scene with a unique guitar style and voice captivating the audience at every venue. His main influences are Rory Gallagher, Tom Waits, John Martyn, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters. With five BBC Radio live sessions prior to a first album release, Dom impressed with his 2018 debut original EP “Easy Way Out” with BBC presenter Cerys Matthews describing his work as “absolutely wonderful stuff.” His debut album “Spain to Italy” was fully released on 4th December 2019 to critical acclaim and was an IBBA “Pick Of The Month” gaining airplay on around 100 stations globally. bluespowr.com - 'Spain to Italy is not just one of the best debut releases we’ve heard in some time but among the best albums we’ve heard from any artist this year' makingascene.org - 'The likes of Dom’s talent only comes around once in a lifetime' Fatea Records - 'A musician of unbridled talent and a future that is assured’ After his debut sell out “Spring ’19 UK Tour”, Blues in Britain Magazine said - "Now and again you stumble across a rare talent of such sheer genius that you actually wonder whether what you have witnessed can possibly be for real. Dom Martin is one such talent" (Last FM) Sooooo, he's influenced by Jimi? Watching this I saw that flair and thought Jimi, Mitch and Noel??? Welllll yea, but now it's on him to reach way down and perfect it. He's on the right track imo... Gonna be a great watch for sure. Yea, the old curmudgeon is waitin... Listen up. Ready GO! Only time will tell. An added bonus??? Seriously? On to his latest "Buried in The Hail." Just enough bump to catch ya and that Rory Gallagher twist w/an added touch of Jimi once again? Crazy good! First thoughts? These two are totally KILLAH lp's. More to follow as I kick back and take it all in. Lyrics, his work, his band they just push all the buttons. The acoustic side? Smooth and clean! If ya can't catch a groove you're either deaf or dead! 😂 Get off those gold cards your sittin HARD on! Get ya sum!

  3. I just wanted to circle back and wrap up this thread. I ended up buy a set of Heresey II's from the original owner. While they are not La Scalas they will allow me to dip my toe into the Klipsch Heritage pool and get my feet wet, so to speak. Thank you once again for all of the info and advice.

  6. No, it was the Curcio board. It was ok, but I wanted to try the Tubes4HiFi board, even if the layout isn't the best. I had also replaced the power tranny, as I thought the original got pretty hot, but that may just be TVA's power grid running at 125V. I do still have one of the large adjustable theater variacs that I could use to bring the voltage down a little, but it's a bit ugly. Not that anyone would notice in the listening room. It has that studio/lounge/garage look, especially now.

  13. Hello all, I am building a room above my garage (which is attached to my house) that is going to be 22x23. I am planning on putting a pair of klipschorns in the corners (outside wall away from the rest of the house). The ceilings are 9' for four feet around the edge of the room and they extend to 10' in the middle. This room partially sits over our bedroom as well (just a little) How do I best dampen the sound from traveling along the joists and walls to the rest of the house? I am planning on double studding the wall(s) that the K horns are using to help with bass extension. Would insulating with sound damping insulation hurt the bass. I'm thinking thick insulation between the first and second floor? Thank you so much for your thoughts.

  15. Yes, I've been on a few diets. From my experience, focusing on balanced meals with plenty of food vitaminssuch as Omega-3, B6, and Vitamin A and proteins .All of these are essential for our bodies and help improve our health and skin condition. I often take them in courses, so I prefer to order everything in pharmacies, and sometimes even online. I am most satisfied with the Canadian Pharmacy B2B format. For me, it's a quality indicator, very convenient and effective. It helps me and improves my health, so I recommend it to everyone

  21. I agree with JC and highly recommend the Jensen ISO-MAX units and use them in my systems. FYI …. Jensen recommends the use of their PI (Input Transformer designs) whenever you have the option over their PO (Output Transformer designs). The Pl-2XX with input type transforms will give better performance than the PO-2XX unless you absolutely need to run an output transformer type. Some info for anyone interested…

  23. jc- Don't be amazed, the chassis tops are reproductions sourced from Korea. The quality is excellent. The bottom sections were reworked at a local metal refinisher I use. Does enamels, powder coat, anodize, acrylics. And the Korean supplier does make a chrome on stainless chassis top section for the MC225. They have a large collection of top sections reproductions. They've been making them for some time. Fair amount of work goes into the restoration. Most of the hardware is replaced which it should be it's over 60 years old! Good to see the amps in use! Interesting song selection. jw

  25. Ok, I'm drooling. Came up with this wild idea of boycotting Kroger so have been diving into the stockpile. About time to rotate things but also getting ready for a massive wallet rape maybe this week but could make it a couple more. Started thinking all ya really need is a baked tater w/sour cream and butter. Factored in a cob salad w/goodies once a day. So that runs about 84$ a week and it's good stuff not junk. I hit Kroger I buy more garbage than I should anc drop more than the 84 a week AND have to put it together. Bacon, chopped egg, cheese, lettuce ya wind up chopping? It aint rocket science but when ya involve the nickel & dime stuff along w/the all the other garbage I wind up buying? Blah. It's good for me and I'm dropping weight which is also good. Won't be long and I'll be right back in Kroger playin the game though. Life's boring like that. lol Gonna soooo beat that darn grasshopper! Just hope things are ok on his end. Crazy!

  26. I'm guessing you don't like Dire Straits? I'm not sure how level matched these are, but the Heresy IVs sound very balanced. The LS sound a little weak in the bass, but I could tweak the to where I could be happy. Cornwalls still sound boomy to me, that could be the room, setup. The Forte IVs sound great, and the Heritage Jubilees massive, but very balanced.. Still, I'm listening on headphones, so who knows. I happen to like DS, but might have picked a different song.

  27. Amazing work. I'm shocked you are able to preserve the lettering on the chrome. I'm still enjoying the two MC250's you turned into perfect condition. Attachment is a quick wired setup in a newly refinished small room. Can you do amazing things to a MC225? jc 1586.mp4

  33. It is instructive to look at US Patent 4,210,223 (Note this is corrected)which concers the big MCM bass horn woofer. The Length to double area is 23.3 inches which gives an Fc of 31.95 Hz. You can find the document at USPTO.GOV or Google Patents. There is in that patent document some design information. And Klipsch and Gillim use the 18.1 figure (so I was correct!) Many thanks toJames and also to John A for helping me through this stroke time. WMcD

  34. Posted this yesterday over in vinyl record spinning. Sad day for sure. Well I was shocked yet not shocked when I heard of Richard Betts death from cancer earlier today. That guy was something else. He played anything handed to him and his fretwork was amazing. Quiet yet always came up with something funny if you knew that grin of his. Ramblin Man? He flat nailed it everytime I ever saw him play it. It was just the way he rolled like the rest of the guys. Southern rock? The Allman Brothers were the words that rolled off so many tongues. It's just another sad day. Ugh Forrest Richard Betts (December 12, 1943 – April 18, 2024) was an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer best known as a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. Early in his career, he collaborated with Duane Allman,[1] introducing melodic twin guitar harmony and counterpoint which "rewrote the rules for how two rock guitarists can work together, completely scrapping the traditional rhythm/lead roles to stand toe to toe".[2] Following Allman's death in 1971, Betts assumed sole lead guitar duties during the peak of the group's commercial success in the mid-1970s. Betts was the writer and singer on the Allmans' hit single "Ramblin' Man". He also gained renown for composing instrumentals, with one appearing on most of the group's albums, including "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Jessica" (which was later used as the theme to Top Gear). The band went through a hiatus in the late 1970s, during which time Betts, like many of the other band members, pursued a solo career and side projects under such names as Great Southern and The Dickey Betts Band. The Allman Brothers reformed in 1979, with Dan Toler taking the second guitar role alongside Betts. In 1982, they broke up a second time, during which time Betts formed the group Betts, Hall, Leavell and Trucks, which lasted until 1984. A third reformation occurred in 1989, with Warren Haynes now joining Betts on guitar. After Betts was ousted from the band in 2000 over a conflict regarding his continued drug and alcohol use; he never played with them again nor appeared with other former band members for reunions or side projects. With the death of Betts in April 2024, Jaimoe is the last living founder of the Allman Brothers Band. He was inducted with the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995[3] and also won a best rock performance Grammy Award with the band for "Jessica" in 1996.[4] Betts was ranked No. 58 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list in 2003, and No. 61 on the list published in 2011. His first solo lp from 1974 went down and cranked big time this afternoon. Ya think he couldn't do it all? Riiiiight, not a big hit but one of my favs. Here ya go @JohnJ. Put your feet up. God's speed brother! RIP!

  35. I owned the Forte I and RF 7 I and II. They were very comparable and may not be a good companions except for their purpose. The RF 7 is very versatile. It is great with music and movies. The Forte can be used for movies but, the Heritage speakers are more design for 2 ch. listening. I used both speakers with 12=200 watts amps, tub, Class D, Class A, Class A/B and no real different in enjoyment. Don't buy speaker without listening if possible based on public polls. This is an election year, lol. Heritage and Reference speakers have their fans and it comes down to choice. The main difference is in the midrange. The RF 7's are closer to ear height and will have more body in the midrage and less dominant bass with the forte but, the midrange will be more on display. Our hearing is geared toward the midrange but, music like body that the RF 7's deliver. I eventually chose the RF 7 II over the Forte and sold them do to space. Still wish I had both.

  36. I know you didn’t ask me, but I’ve owned two different EL84 amps and both were excellent. A Music Reference RM10 II and an Aric Audio custom. I have also had many EL34 amps, also which were good. But if you don’t need the extra power, there is something special about the EL84 tube. That would be my choice.

  41. Chip: Welcome to the Klipsch team! I just talked with Dan at your store as a follow-up to the call you made to us on Monday. We do appreciate and understand your concerns, and as David and Trey have already stated here, we have a public statement here on our website (the "Unauthorized Dealer Warning), and have an active team that monitors and acts against these sites that, as I have found after over 4 years in dealing with all of them covertly, consistently deceive their customers. I have had no products shipped yet with charges for them to my card, obviously used products shipped, damaged products shipped, even dusty products shipped. The first fact is that no matter what these sites claim, the products they claim to come from Klipsch have no Klipsch warranty whatsoever. If you are not satisfied with the yes, opened box product in nearly all cases, then they not only charge you the exorbitant (yes, that is part of the way they get you) shipping charges to return it, they charge you a restocking fee to boot! When they cannot get product to ship to you, they lie and say that we are backordered on it and cannot ship it to them. We do not ship anything to these unscrupulous sellers, whether it be product or parts. Last January, we filed several lawsuits against the major offending sites and were very successful in significantly reducing our brand presence on these and many other sites. There are still some sites out there though who just don't "get it": we will continue to do everything necessary to protect the Klipsch brand from unscrupulous "here today, gone tomorrow" sellers and will not stop in our efforts until their deception of our customers, both loyal and new, has ended! 42. sox: A loose/disconnected wire inside the sub is my thinking also. Unfortunately, since Brandnamez is not authorized to sell any Klipsch products, there is no Klipsch warranty on the sub. The best course of action is to return it to Brandnamez for a full refund and purchase from an authorized Klipsch dealer who can handle a problem correctly, expediently and under warranty if something like this occurs again. 45. ccsakura: The warranty those sites offer is not through or from Klipsch in any matter. We do not provide them with either products or warranty parts. What they claim to do is repair it themselves during the same time period as a manufacturer warranty would. Who is repairing it, what are they using for parts and will they still even be around if and when you need that "warranty" service are the questions. PhilH

  48. The Led Zeppelin DVD is remarkable for the age of the material on it. Say all you want about Jimmy Page, but he found an engineer who also knows what the Zep live experience was all about and, at the same time, knows what the latest technology is to make an incredible remaster out of 30 year old relics. You can almost smell the illegal substances floating through the air as you watch the concert clips on these 2 DVD's. John Paul Jones never got the credit he deserved for his abilities...keeping up with Page in concert was a remarkable feat in itself!! The multiple "through time" versions of "Communication Breakdown" in the extras section is a hoot too! Hopefully, other classic 60's and 70's performances by other bands can now be dusted off and re-engineered to sound great with today's audio technology. Another one of my favorites is "The Who...Live From Royal Albert Hall" DD and DTS, recorded in 2000 while Entwhistle was still with us and Zack Starkey had developed into the best possible Who drummer since Keith Moon. You can sure tell he emulates Moon even more than he emulates his father Ringo. Unfortunately, another great Who combination never to be seen again... PhilH

  49. As we have stated before, we have no desire to be represented in any manner by Internet-only sellers on any of our current Home Audio products. Selling under a blanket of deception, along with very questionable customer service both before and after the sale are common with these sites. Will any of these sites leave customers "high and dry" if there is a problem? The answer is a resounding YES! I have personally spoken with customers who have been left out in the cold by websites who either become "inactive" or their site is now available for sale because they have gotten their money and it's time to move on to the next scam. Some sites that still exist refuse to help a customer even when product is shipped to them that is damaged or suspicious. Some sites "help" their customers by charging ridiculous shipping charges even if they do agree to an exchange or repair, more than erasing any "price benefit" that customer realized to begin with. Most of these sites truly decieve their customers by either claiming to be authorized, or by using wording that leads the average shopper to believe that. Our caution about these sites is at the bottom of this page under "Unauthorized Dealers". The fact remains: if you make a purchase from one of these sites not only will you get a product of questionable origin, you will get a product with no Klipsch warranty whatsoever! PhilH
