  1. Picked up my Carver 4.0t this afternoon from a audio shop I take my gear to. They had a e-bay listing for this amp last week. The shop called me last week with an estimate to fix another Carver I had in the shop. They had a buy it now for $500 I asked them if they would do $400. They had to ask the boss. They called me back about five minutes later and said they could do $450... I told them I'll take it...... My next words were....take my amp off e-bay before one of those 18 watchers decides to buy it Been putting the Carver watts to a set of Chorus most of the afternoon.....One of my favorite speakers in my Wall-O-Klipsch... Really happy with it..... has great sound Makes those Chorus hit hard......you can feel em Pic's will be right up... MKP :-)

  2. The motor in the car in my avatar was a 3.5 liter Buick aluminum V-8 out of a 63 Skylark. With a Carter AFB, Crower cam and tube headers, it put over 200 hp through a T-5 and 3.90:1 lsd rear end. At 1,800 lbs, it was very quick. After I sold it, I purchased a 97 Miata with the intention of replacing the 4 banger with another 3.5 aluminum V-8. The Miata was so damn dependable, I never had the heart to do the engine swap. The low rpm torque of the V-8 was great at stoplights. Nonetheless, were I to do another such Lotus/Caterham type car, I would do a smaller higher revving 4 cyl variant.

  3. ......ok, here it is.....and thank you all for your compliments, comments and good wishes Local Tribute Artists’ Las Vegas Debut Leads to Movie Fame & New World Tour Kenny LaBelle and The Diamond Collection co-star in New Musical Documentary – “Diamond Mountain” On April 21st – April 24th, the Suncoast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada played host to a unique music event featuring twelve of the world’s favorite Neil Diamond tribute acts. The first annual DiamondFest weekend kicked off with the premiere of the highly anticipated movie “Diamond Mountain” featuring the trials and tribulations of thirteen Neil Diamond tributes artists from around the world. Director Steve Tatone began his project by filming Kenny LaBelle and The Diamond Collection in August of 2014 at The Majestic Theater in West Springfield, MA. After that filming, Mr. Tatone said The Diamond Collection “absolutely blew me and my team away with their high-energy, perfectly orchestrated and performed concert. We captured on film the magic of this amazing band led by a vocalist/guitarist Kenny LaBelle who gave his audience and our film so much more than we bargained for.”. After traveling the globe filming 12 additional Neil Diamond tribute artists, Mr. Tatone asked that The Diamond Collection be the premier band to back up the twelve cast mates for the Cast Concert. Sharing the stage with The Diamond collection were five members of Neil Diamond’s band, Tom Hensley, Ronnie Tutt, Mark LaVang, Bill Cinque and King Errisson. The Diamond Collection has been performing Neil Diamond’s music for the past sixteen years across New England to a growing legion of fans. As a result of the overwhelming audience response to the band in Las Vegas, Tatone signed Mr. LaBelle as his Musical Director and The Diamond Collection to be the core band of Tatone’s new Neil Diamond Broadway-style Musical Experience titled “Diamond Mountain Live!”. The “Diamond Mountain Live!” World Tour commences this summer and is slated for performances all across the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia over the next 18 months. When LaBelle was offered the opportunity to tour extensively outside of his western Massachusetts home base, he stated: “This is a dream come true for me and the band. We’ve worked tirelessly for years to present Neil Diamond’s hits and deep album cuts in a way that connects our audience with the soul of his music. Our show is more than a Tribute to all things ‘Neil’ – it’s a presentation of his massive canon of work with new arrangements and a passion to do the man’s words and music justice. This world tour gives us the rare opportunity to spread the music of Neil Diamond, as interpreted by The Diamond Collection, to fans in different countries and of all age groups! We’re grateful to be a part of this amazing project and humbled that Steve and Neil Diamond’s Bandmates think so highly of our musical skills. We can’t wait to get started!” Please visit The Diamond Collection website at www.diamondcollectionrocks.com for more information

  4. Good afternoon my friends..........just reading through the posts about the engine swaps etc. Very good friend of mine got totally into the Grand National thing... He was very lucky at the time to find one UNaltered in anyway and after talking him into entering in one of our major car shows, took home a best of class, and right after that, best of show !!! There were many other GN's there, but they had changed out wheels, and repaint jobs etc. His needed nothing, totally orginal! After a while, he became interested in some minor hop up 'enhancements' ... He did the X-brace, front to back exhaust, 2" swaybars, larger intercooler and some electronics management stuff... Ended up at the drag track... Ran the same times as another friend's '93 Supra making 520HP at the wheels! 11.5 sec. 117mph in the quarter on VP 115 fuel... I forget what the boost was... A run down the highway with both cars proved the Supra of course had the 'longer legs', the GN became unstable over 130mph...and not safe... We also have a GN 'repair / upgrade' shops in the area for many years and still going and owned and run by another friend of the group... (Cotton's Garage). GN's 'T' types, you name it.. My good friend sold the GN in 2003 as many others in our 'breakfast club' of motorheads did eventually, and still owns his 2004 Mustang Cobra.......13k on the OD. as far as I know... Ok, that is my auto report..... Vegas writeup NEXT UP:

  7. Trying to wake up and get going this morning. Talking about engines: Judy's 2015 Mustang EcoBoost with the 4 cylinder engine with turbo is an amazing car. 320 HP at the wheels and as fast as she wants to go. I originally had got her a 2010 370Z Nismo with rear mounted turbo. That car was set up for the track. She hated the 4 point harness and the loudness of the exhaust, but boy did that thing go and handle! It had a little over 500 hp at the wheels and was blazingly fast in the power band. Got to get ready for the big water show in Hot Springs today thru Wednesday, so not much we be posted from this old guy. I always hate to leave the kids alone (dogs), but we have a great dogsitter. They can get in lots of trouble on their own, so we always worry what things will look like when we return. The shop is coming along great. I just can't decide how to lay out the music system. Currently have Epic CF-2 out there, but thinking of hanging the big Altec 9842d on the walls. May put two systems in since I have an office and tech room in part of the building. If so, the JBL 4411 will be in the office.

Back when I was in the Army you could find me and my buddy working at the on base auto shop. We would work there all weekend till they though us out at closing time. Man those were the days.... getting enough money together for a new cam and the case of cold beer Didn't drink coffee back then.......didn't even know what Klipsch was...... as far as a system. it was in my Buick.... I use one outside in the bar connected to a little Crown d75 and some Heresy's with a headphone jack input to connect any phone/laptop to play music. I had the Pioneer Supertuner TP-900 8-track in my first car, worked great but went with the car when i sold it. 75 Pontiac Catalina, miss that thing.

Really, not having horns to use with the current drivers was making me lazy. Now I have no excuse to not finish them.

  13. Late start on the DD this morning. Went to get all kinds of blood tests (just routine) that were done at a local hospital really cheap. I need to know what my partying capacity is for the Hope trip! Time to kill some weeds around the homestead and dig up the lines for the pool that I'm rerouting. Back in the day I ran a lot of Buicks with the 3.8, including the grand nationals and even had a park avenue with the supercharged version. That is one fine motor with lots of potential and they could take all kinds of abuse.

  15. Everybody else is all looking at your car. I'm just over here checking out the trailer. I sell those. Pic from a photoshoot last night: Interestingly enough, on Monday, some asshat backed into my trailer and worked over the light and bracket pretty well and took off. At least I know that bracket had to do some serious damage to their car. I contacted Hull and asked them about fixing it. For $100, they cut off the old bracket, welded a new one on, primed, painted and put a new tail light on. You can't even tell anything happened and for that price from the guys who make the trailer, there really was not reason to try any other option. I dropped it off on Tuesday to pick it up on Friday and bring it back to load up the car for a track event. It was my first of the year and sketchy... The high was in the low 50's with no sun and I was on some seasoned Hoosier R7's. I did lots of power sliding at 70-95 mph turns staying flat in it. I'm just glad they didn't hit any further forward as they would have gotten into the wheel well. The yard is getting out of control... But I can't mow when it won't stop raining to where I sink in the ground. I was hoping to have a better feel of the brakes, but the traction just wasn't there. Normally, I have heat just pouring off the wheels and brakes (wheels too hot to touch) and the tires nice an hot, but I could barely get the tires to warm. That said, they're bedded in and turning pretty colors. And since I love talking cars... A few buddies passed through and stayed the night on their way to compete in One Lap of America that started yesterday. The white BMW won 7th overall and first in class last year. The GT-R is competing in stock class, but is currently the overall #1 lead after 2 events, but he is also a professional driver (and his girlfriend and teammate can drive too).

  19. With the doorways on either side pretty much where the bass reflects, I am not surprised you are not getting the amount of sound on the low end that you expected. I would imagine the bass down that hallway is pretty impressive. The good news is that when you finish your basement, you will get to hear an upgrade without any costs (except for the new room itself). Great first assessment. PM me if there is any interest. I will be taking some "money shot" photos next week once the badges arrive. After that, they will be listed for sale, at a steep profit. 22. The bass/mid crossover point is 400Hz, and would need to be changed for the Belle, unless that's what you want. I can't remember other details at the moment. Dean picked up the parts for me at PE, the aut[formers came from Bob anthe two Litz inductors came from Solen in Canada. I didn't make them elegant, but they work great. If I were making a new set, I would see if Dean would sell me a pair of the n=w, larger autoformers he had made, and tidy up the build. I also changed a tap setting to drop the mids down about 3db. 31. Most likely a Chevy small block crate motor. Northstar engines were very popular for a while, also. Fiero tranny. Google V-8 Archie for some details. I did a front wheel drive engine into an MGB. Pretty easy except that the water pump had to be electric and remote mounted. S-10 bell housing and clutch mated to a T-5 tranny. The standard MGB rear end was plenty strong enough, but the gearing needed to be reduced to make 1st gear usable. You can put any motor in anything if you have the time, money and patience. 3.1, 3.8, 4.3 small block will fit easily, bigger motors will fit but throw too much weight over the rear wheels. Fiero's used Chevette parts for front brakes among other things if i recall, go juice is nice but you want to be able to stop as well. Maybe better than 4 wheel drums with no power assist but not by far, don't cheap out and do it half assed because those Fiero body structures were no stronger than old beer cans.
